A giant three-headed dog and crowd surfing luchadores. Enough said.

Best Night Ever! of Montreal Was Once Again Super

by funinthesun4 on 5/24/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

From the flocks of bird feathers, to the giant stuffed animal men, of Montreal has once again given the most fun, most colorful show. The songs played were great, the crowd was awesome and the opening band, Wild Moccasins were pretty darn good. There's nothing bad to say about them and everything was great. Can't wait until their next tour!!

of Montreal is my favorite band and of the three venues I've seen them in (Alabama Music Box, Mobile, AL and the Moon, Tallahassee, FL are the others), Paradise is definitely the most enjoyable. The set was fantastic and the acting and visual aspects were wonderful, and I'm not even talking about how beautiful every member of this band is (for the record: all A+ beauties). Totally worth every penny. Truly a wonderful band. Hope they come back sooner than a year from now. Can't get enough oM shows in my life. Never disappointing.

As always, Of Montreal gave an extraordinary performance! And I always like the Paradise as a venue, no complaints.

    AMAZING!

by HeyItsBeth1292 on 12/14/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

First off, I would just like to applaude the opener, Foxygen. They completely exceeded my expectations. Usually, I don't pay a lot of attention to the opening bands, but I really enjoyed their unique sound, and Sam, the lead singer, was so entertaining to watch. Anyways, before I saw their show, I didn't listen to of Montreal that often, but that has completely changed. I am OBSESSED now. Their show wasn't just amazing because they were good live (though they do sound quite good live), but because they put on an entire performance for us. There was never a moment where I wasn't completely entranced by all the cool visuals, colors, and the strange creatures that would occasionally make an appearance on stage. I'm sad that it's over, and I'm definitely going to see them again! :)

If there was one band that I would recommend you see live at least once in your lifetime, it would be of Montreal. Their shows are insane theatrical experiences that will make you feel like a better person for having attended them. Guaranteed.

    my first of montreal concert

by twentytree on 12/13/12Webster Hall - New York

i'd heard from friends that seeing of montreal live was quite an experience. i had already built it up in my head and even with all the hype i was still blown away by how phenomenal it was. the band had some of the most creative performances i've ever seen and really engaged the audience. Kevin Barnes was a fantastically talented stage presence and the whole band gave such a good vibe. the sound system was pretty good. overall of montreal just managed to turn a concert into a huge party. If there is any downside it would be that the people who run the venue didn't seem to fully do their part and another thing was that my friends and i were hte only people who seemed to be younger than 28.

great show, great venue. loved it from beginning to end. high energy, unique stagecraft and lighting, and an energetic crowd made the night wonderful. brought some friends to join in, and they loved it too - raves all around. wonderful! we're actually considering a road trip to Montreal to see the band on their home turf... flying up on the ultra cool, civilized and cost effective Porter Airlines....

    Fun Show!

by Gowa on 12/13/12Webster Hall - New York

of Montreal was great! Very theatrical performance, unique music, fantastic musicianship and I would recommend to anyone who likes unique rock and appreciates creativity. Kevin Barnes is the real deal - a true artist who lets it all out in concert. BTW - I'm 52 and most of the crowd were in their 20's but very cool people and they didn't call me grandpa - not once! Go see of Montreal if you can!

Worst Experience "NOT" seeing of Montreal at all

by LavenderBlonde on 12/13/12Webster Hall - New York

I bought tickets to see of Montreal. Not two opening bands for 2 hours, while of Montreal's set didn't even begin until 10pm. My friend and I just decided to leave. This is the first time this has happened to me and I've been seeing of Montreal for 5 years, 3 shows at Webster Hall with similar start time and they've never gone on that late. I live in New Jersey and couldn't even see them bc I would of missed my train and been stranded in NYC.

Don't think about it. JUST GO!

by Anonymous on 6/17/12The National - Richmond

I had never heard an Of Montreal song before I went. I'd heard of the band, but that's about it. This band is so high energy, the front man was just absolutely captivating to watch. His vocals are so great and impressive, his dance moves are silly and sexy. I left this show feeling elated. I was also, for some reason, under the impression that this band made soft indie-type music. FALSE. These guys rocked way harder than anything I was expecting. It was just, ahh, such a great show. So eclectic. So theatrical. So unexpected. So damn fun. JUST GO!

The music and performers are incredible, the actors and props are creative, the vibe was intense and soo much FUN! I'm looking out for this band the next time they're touring anywhere near me. Without a doubt, new favorite band :)

Loved the balloons and masked mystery men!

by compassionateone on 6/15/12The National - Richmond

I figured Of Montreal would be campy, but wow. The lead singer was all glammed out and very androgynous. Almost every song had some kinky twist with the addition four masked performers/dancers. I love it when the band smiles, and these folks were happy to be playing. I also loved Yip Deceiver's heavy beats right before. I'll be downloading some of that too.

    of montreal awesomeness

by thatofa on 4/9/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

This concert was a great end to the tour! I loved the art and lights incorporated into the songs. The staff at Variety Playhouse were helpful and friendly. There was more than enough seating since most people moved to the front when of montreal came on stage. I found a particularly good view on a barstool on the upper level seating level. Hardly any people up there paired with a spectacular view and room to dance = awesome. I wasn't really impressed with the opening acts, kishi bashi and loney dear. However, seeing kishi bashi join in with of montreal after his set was exciting. Overall it was a great experience. Of montreal concerts never fail at delivering awesome music in a creative and funky way. Favorite Moment: The encore. I'm not a huge fan of Paralytic Stalks and the encore was filled with all of my favorites. The band really took off and the audience got super hyped during that last set!

kishi bashi, lony dear and of montreal

by papayak on 4/9/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

This was the fourth time I'd seen of montreal and it didn't disappoint. Their set was more than satifying. They had a perfect mixture of old and new music. genious. Kishi Bashi was the first opener and he is incredible. He is a perfect example of music as an art form. Loney Dear was pretty good but the mellow tone of them didn't fit in with the rest of the show. the crowd got really restless.

    Coldplay are very forgettable.

by Alexanderdardeedum on 4/9/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Starting off with a ton of Paralytic Stalks, plenty of Hissing Fauna and Skeletal Lampings so a super good setlist in my opinion. Stage show was not the most interesting I've seen of theirs, boring costumes, but the music was a ok and that's what we're there for really so nay matter. Sound quality was pretty good, generally good renditions of their studio versions. Three thumbs up.

Unique, erratic, tongue-in-cheek white-boy hipster funk. Very fun show.
