The bad has great energy and Kevin Barnes puts on quite a show. They brought the house down during the second part of the show (in my opinion) when they played my songs. I jumped and danced and sweat like a crazy person.

by Anchovies on 4/5/16Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

of Montreal was an absolute INCREDIBLE performance, and I mean exactly that, a PERFORMANCE. They have REAL stage presence and truly connect with their audience on a multitude of levels. You will never forget them.

Of Montreal was Full of Surprises!

by Tersch on 4/4/16Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

This was my first time catching Of Montreal in concert, and it was totally full of great surprises. The music was excellent and the colorful characters entering throughout the performance was fun and entertaining! Culture Room is such a great venue for this type of show - up close and personal.

Best put together gig in a long time

by Cripipper on 9/21/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

In short, go and see Of Montreal even if you don't know them or don't particularly like them. The visuals are the best you will have seen at a small gig and will keep you entertained no matter what your opinion of the music. It is a psychedelic punk pop rollercoaster of madness and it rocks.

    Extravagance At It's Finest

by MJeTaime on 6/25/15Masquerade - Atlanta

The extravagance that was of Montreal can only be expressed in words so much so to the extent of inhibiting any sort of feeling of how the show felt in its physicality. There was so much energy and constituted creationism in the voice and presentation of this particular experience.

    of Montreal delivers again

by goobertech on 5/17/15Masquerade - Atlanta

The May 14 show at the Masquerade was energetic and proof again that Kevin Barnes is quite the showman. It featured a good bit of the new album, Aureate Gloom. As usual, they didn't play anything from my personal favorite album, Satanic Panic in the Attic, but song selection was still very good.

I can't even make sense of how such a small performance could be so beautifully psychedelic.. The opening act, Icky Blossoms would've been enough to be honest because they were amazing, but of Montreal... They're a religious sanction.

    of Montreal Spectacular!

by Wilderbeast on 3/13/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Great show in the truest sense. Nonsensical, captivating, incredibly engaging, provocative, and down right fun. The band was tight, the music witty, and well preformed. The projections beautiful and at times comical. The dancers and their costumes were comedic and the interplay with the projections was well considered and executed. An amazing experience.

Excellent show -- Of Montreal always blow my mind -- but the alcohol at the venue is overpriced.

    Amazing theatrics

by Sydneymichelle on 10/20/14Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

I've seen of montreal too many times to count and this is one of the most beautiful shows I've been to. Pillar point, the opener was amazing. While the show started an hour late, it was well worth the wait... And the show went until 1 am. I was exhausted by the end of it. The reconfiguration of the music, stage show and audio/visual effects were stunning. Great vibes.

The main band didn't go on until almost 11:30. The band before them ended their set at 10:30. We had to stand around for almost an hour. It was not worth the money spent to be made to wait. I had to leave before they ended their set because I have a job and needed to get home to get some sleep.

    7 times and counting

    by Slug91 on 1/27/14U.C. Riverside - Riverside

I have seen oM 7 times and they never disappoint. Super solid set full of all the classics that you have to hear plus a handful of newer tracks. Lots of fun to dance to and sing along with. Only negative is the campus didn't let them play past 11 or so, so the set was cut short.

    Go see Of Montreal!

by pekulier on 10/30/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

They were AMAZING performers and brought a lot of additional visual elements to the table (light projections, costumes, feather guns, etc). The band didn't need all of those things because they sounded great live and had so much great energy, but it definitely added to the show. I will go see them as often as I can after this.

    Of Montreal was bananas!

by AlisonRibbons on 5/28/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I have been to this venue once before and think it's great! The space is small enough to get a truly intimate experience but not so small that you feel overcrowded. Of Montreal came on shortly after I arrived (I had a commitment beforehand and worried about missing some of their set), so the timing was perfect. Everyone working the event was helpful and friendly. The band played a high energy set for about 1.5 hours. They were truly on fire and they sent their vibe out far and wide across the audience. Overall a phenomenal experience!

    Theater of the Sublime

by Livelivelive on 5/28/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Am I the biggest fan of Of Montreal's music? Not really. But do I make sure to see them perform whenever I can? You bet. The last time I saw them I ended up starting a concert drawings blog, musikati, around the sketches I did. This time around, I was curious to see how they would translate their magnificent puppet-dancers-extravaganza to the intimate Music hall of Williamsburg. The answer: Beautifully. A PERFECT sold out one hour show with all the bells and whistles and an even better set of location drawings done in almost complete darkness.

of Montreal was unforgettable, as usual. I'm used to going to shows in Philadelphia rather than going up to NYC but it was worth the trip. The venue was great and so was the sound. Some people in the crowd were a bit rowdy, but security took care of that. Overall I had a blast! I'm very familiar with this band and their live act, but they always keep you on your toes with what they're going to do next. Can't wait to see them again!
