One of our favorite things about the season is the Nutcracker! The San Antonio ballet did a wonderful job of bringing the story to life!
This was my first time seeing The Nutcracker and it was better than I had even imagined. The dancers were all very talented and they were breathtaking to watch!
The Pensacola Ballet did a wonderful job with this Nutcracker Ballet. This is the second year I have taken my Granddaughters as part of their Christmas. They are both involved with balllet during the year and they really enjoyed it as well my Daughter and I also enjoyed the performance.
I bought tickes for 5 of us. We all had a great time. Parking was easy, will-call pickup was a breeze, and the show was excellent. Al in all, a great day.
While the dancing technique was good, the lack of live music and the nondescript, middle school set decorations were most disappointing.
The dancers were amazing! A cherished christmas ballet that should be shown every year!
I love the Nutcracker so any performance review starts witha "good" just on the basis of what it is. That said this one ranked low for many reasons: especially recorded music played on a sound system that was way over driven resulting in a lot of rumble and distortion, retranscription of the score from what Tchaikovsky wrote ( why do producers think they have to change what is already wonderful?), up and down dancing (some great, some poor), less than spectacular sets, a less than great choreography of the story. But Clara was terrific !
The dancers were great and it was such a beautiful show!
The dancers are better & better each year. The stage decor changed a bit which makes it nice as well. Always love the directors sense of humor!! Just a wonderful local performance that's turned into a mother/daughter tradition I hope my daughter will always cherish & carry on to her daughter one day.
Great performance. You could tell that the cast and crew put their hearts into their work.
Though the ballerinas were beautiful, the performance was lack luster. The males did not perform any leaps, there was a lot of running in circles, and the ballerinas seemed to be out of sync and uncomfortable through the entire performance. The beginning scene inside the home was drawn out and lasted too long. During the second half of the performance, the male and female had a ballerina dance-off that seemed to never end. The best part of this performance were the children in the sheep costumes -- adorable!
sets were very cool - best "snow" we have ever seen - too bad they couldn't have hired some dancers so we could have had the "Russian" dance - they did have nice "candy canes" in place of it, but the Russian is so awesome, I really missed it - & I have never seen such a lame "uncle" - he suppose to be mysterious & magical! This one was more comical.
Professionals and amateurs - mostly children - working together for a beautiful, amazing performance!
I dance the Nutcracker for many years. Some parts were left out and great liberty was taken in the interpretation of the Land of the Sweets. Some I didn't care for but it's all relevant to one's preferences. The lead male dancers were lacking compared to years past. All in all, a nice performance for local kids. I was quite disappointed the children involved were not allowed a curtain call. They work hard and their parents invest much time and money. Please note, I DID NOT have a child in the performance. I simply felt this oversight should be corrected.
Beautifully done and cast to boot. Would love to see it again. Def a fam favorite.
This show was wonderful. The dancers were outstanding and the scenery breathtaking. I would recommend this production to everyone.
We really enjoyed this event. It was the first time our 4 and 6 year olds have attended the theater (other than to watch a movie) and we were impressed with how well they responded. It was a little tough for them, during the last 30 minutes, but they were fully engaged for most of the event. The production was great and we really enjoyed watching the technical expertise of the artists, who have dedicated so much of their time to training.
My daughter and I went to see the Nutcracker at the beautiful Adler theater. What an amazing production! It was done so beautifully. As a matter of fact, my eleven year old daughter is a seasoned swimmer, but used to dance....During the performance, she whispered to me, "I wish I had time to dance again!" We have seen many Nutcracker roductions...but...this was one of the best!
Incredible show and incredible talent. Will definitely be going back again.
It was amazing! Its a must see performance! family friendly as well.
