The production of Dial M for Murder had big shoes to fill, and failed. Of course, the original "shoes"were worn by Alfred Hitchcock, so a pretty tough act to follow. The acting was good, not great. But what was really missing was the suspense. The first act set the plot, but seemed lifeless. The second act was a step above, as the plot to frame Margot unfolded. But, the zinger at the end, aka the key, just seemed to be added as an afterthought and rushed through. The actor who played the inspector was a definite high point. He has a voice like hot chocolate with Baileys; yum. But, overall, dial D for disappointed.
Excellent plot, actors, staging. Would recommend it to everyone.
Northlight Theatre's production of Dial M for Murder is a resounding success!!! From the superior casting, excellent acting, script, staging and costumes, this is the best performance I've seen at Northshore Center for the Performing Arts. DON'T MISS THIS PRODUCTION !!!!
