    Riveting & Spectacular

by Natalie Ann on 3/8/24Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

Powerful & entertaining musical. From the storyline, talented performers, music, stage props, lighting and venue, it was sensational & we enjoyed every bit of it. Then getting to meet the performers at the end was a bonus. I bought a signed poster and happily displaying in my house.

We were a group of 6, and all of us agreed that this was an amazing production. Wonderful music, singing, dancing and acting, impeccable! The story was well represented and artfully done. What a wonderful afternoon well spent, very memorable! Great job everyone!

    Great experience

by Ladyjae on 2/29/24Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

I loved this play. It was to the point and very thorough in content. The young man who helped the two characters explained his mulatto heritage which explained how it was a benefit to helping them in their journey. Not much is spoken about these types of individuals in the underground railroad movement. We are all familiar with the roles of the Quakers and of Harriet Tubman but not aware of some of these unsung heroes. I liked it...a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

    Excellent musical

by Deb on 2/27/24Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

The musical was very well done. Loved the storyline and vocals were excellent. My one disappointment was the lack of backdrops. All in all, I thought everything was very well done.

    Moving reminder with expert portrayal

by Jackie on 2/27/24Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

I immersed myself in the history, acting and music. I loved the directorship, the great professional acting, the choice of music and loved how it moved me to recall the sadness of our brothers and sisters. Let's not forget the savagery of days gone by.

I had no idea what to expect as it is a new production. It was very well done, the history, and the choreography was so good. How they used the umbrellas was very clever. A great evening.
