The North Charleston Pops is an amazing orchestra and never fails to entertain. If you haven’t experienced one of their concerts I highly suggest you do so, and you won’t be disappointed.
As usual the concert was outstanding and well worth the cost
Great facility, crisp clear sound, superb performance, excellent value.
We really enjoyed the music but the people sitting behind us really distracted us. They brought their 2 very young children--under 4 years old. The young children then proceeded to act like young children. They whined, talked, and ran between their parents constantly. Of course, this caused the parents to constantly talk and try to keep them quiet. Children this age are not old enough to understand or appreciate the music or relate it to the movies. I can't imagine they ever watched The Hunger Games or The Lord of the Rings. There were many older children there who were perfectly well behaved. On another note, the characters looked very uncomfortable just standing on the stage. Nice idea, but just didn't quite work.
The Pops was awesome. I would recommend them to anyone.
Let’s face it there’s only 1 Michael Jackson and Prince. This show was really fun. Gavin Hope interacted with the crowd and kept the party going. The Charleston Pops were AMAZING!! I’m looking forward to seeing another show.
but could have been better. I was hoping to just hear the symphony playing the music of Prince and Michael Jackson. I am a huge Prince fan and although the singers were good, I was hoping to hear the symphony's take on the music of these two great artist. One or two songs sang for each set would not have been too bad but the singers drowned out the music sadly. What I did hear from the musicians, I can only imagine if it had just been the symphony playing the instruments, it would have been fabulous.
The show started on time, very organized as usual. The performer was very profesional He did sing Prince and Michael Jackson both very very good. I had a good time with my girlfriend who I invited for her Birthday, she had a blast! Gamalat C.
The POPS were at their finest! The opening number, "Love Unlimited" exceeded the electrifying emotion of the original '70's recording. What an experience watching the bass synthesizer being played on this piece! The rest of the show was just a engaging and enjoyable. But the best was the patriotic medley at the finale--the entire audience was on their feet with tears in their eyes. POPS, you've done America proud!
I primarily attended this event because my daughter’s SOA Chorus was accompanying the orchestra, but the show was awesome! I really enjoyed hearing some of the oldies interpreted by a live professional orchestra. Will definitely attend another North Charleston Pops show.
I bought the tickets as a gift...for someone who loves Cirque...wasn't sure what to expect? What an AWESOME show! We have a newfound appreciation of orchestra music after attending this performance.
Fantastic performance and show. The combination of the POPS with the incredible circus acts provided a thrilling ambience. The strongmen, however, were the stars of the show. Wow!! It is certainly worth seeing, especially at the very affordable price tag.
We were very much looking forward to this event, and unfortunately couldn't wait til it was over. First, we were disappointed that part of the program was supposed to be "audience choice"... which turned out to be clapping for your favorite out of two choices. I should have known better... how can an orchestra be prepared with music for all the songs that could have been requested? Secondly, and more importantly, we came to hear the symphony... not a soprano who sang songs two registers higher than needed, and overshadowed the musicians. She had a nice voice, it just didn't belong here...and a couple of songs would have sufficed-she overran the show.
Pops concert was wonderful and the children's chorus great fun. The selection of music was great and bringing dancers from the audience up on stage added to the event. The parking getting to the PAC was another story. Due to a give away event at the hockey game and free parking, we had to park across the street behind a business in a grass lot. The walk was pretty far in the cold. I will watch what event is happening in the arena before I decide do another PAC event.
Absolutely wonderful show. The rendition of Rhapsody in Blue and Sing, Sing, Sing was spectacular. I would definitely see this show again and recommend it for anyone who enjoys big band &/or swing music.
Wow! What an amazing evening! The music was so moving and performers were very entertaining! What a wonderful event!
My husband and I had the pleasure of attending the NorthCharleston Pops Broadway Rocks last Saturday. The orchestra was amazing and the guest artists were beyond outstanding!! The evening was joyous...we left feeling that we were given a gift beyond measure.
My first show seeing this orchestra and I Annie HOOKED. I left that show so excited and wanted there to be another one just like so I could bring everyone I know. The three guest star singers were absolutely amazing. Such great talent. The combination of the orchestra, guest singers and the choir made it a magical night for me.
wonderful show, lots of talent, and great, recognizable music that we both could listen and hum along to. Highly recommend as a good time!
