We enjoyed the NC Symphony concert Rasphody in Blue. The musicians put on the usual top-notch performance. The icing on the cake was the talented and energetic conductor. A marvelous experience!

    Exhilarating!

by JoanCJohns on 3/13/24Wilson Center, CFCC - Wilmington

What an outstanding evening. The talented, charming and knowledgeable guest conductor/pianist William Eddins was a delight. I enjoyed learning about the history of each piece from his sharing. (I also appreciated the notes in the program about each composition and the instruments performing in each.) The performances by the orchestra - especially Rhapsody in Blue with Eddins at the piano - had the audience leaping to their feet to applaud. I can't wait to attend another great evening with the North Carolina Symphony.

    Music and conductor were excellent

by Fun engaging afternoon! on 3/11/24Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

We loved the composers and music selection so we were excited to hear the music-beautifully done and the maestro was very talented to play the piano and conduct the Rhapsody in Blue piece. The Copland pieces are all favorites and the orchestra did an awesome job playing. It was a very upbeat and enjoyable afternoon!

    Joy and beauty

by Meg on 3/8/24Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I sit still and find peace. The music begins with soft melodious bars of harmony and gentle violin strings. I am lifted into another place and slowly release my pent up tension. I am. I become part of the harmony and simply watch the clutter and rules and list of routine duties to evaporate. I am loved by me. Soft peace.

    Pink Martini

by Yudelka on 3/6/24Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

This is the 4th time I go see Pink Martini and have always loved the shows. Why when they perform with the NC Symphony we can’t record pieces of the show? I always like to have a little memory. I will refrain from going to symphony shows if they don’t allow to record them

    Awesome show 98% perfect

by william on 3/5/24Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The spectrum of music was delightful, the talent was high level, the venue was spectacular, the musicianship was incredible. I wouldn't change anything about the program! The music was a tiny bit too loud (and I sat in the back).

Music was great! Venue has weird food rules though

by JB on 3/4/24Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

This is really about the venue. Specifically the venue has bizarre rules about bringing food and beverages with ice (??) purchased at the concession stand into the auditorium. If I'm going to overpay for popcorn, I should be able to bring that popcorn back to my seat to enjoy during the show. If I can't do that, then it needs to be prominently posted at the concession stand so I don't buy something I can't have. This is just a bizarre and arbitrary rule, why some drinks, but not drinks with ice? No other venue I've ever been to has such weird restrictions on their own concessions. Completely stupid.
