A Summer Storm blew into Mableton, Ga. last night.
by AlabamaJazzFan on 8/23/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5The Mablehouse Amphitheater was filled with the great sounds of smooth jazz last night. Brian Simpson opened the show and got the crowd going off to a great start. Euge Groove really got the crown on their feet and had a contest for the women to shake their "Badonkadonk" for one of his T-shirts. He came into the crowd blowing his sax for all it was worth. The problem with his show was the sound folks cut him short in the middle of his last song. The timing of the show was bad from the start as the evening performances started 30 minutes late. Norman Brown took the stage and got the party kicked into high gear. He introduced the Hotlanta crowd to Eric Darius who played his heart out on alto saxophone. The concert timing folks did it to Norman, as they cut his last song short, and turned off his and Eric's microphones promptly at 10:30. The evening was perfect; perfect weather, perfect music, and everyone was left wanting more. As always, the Mablehouse was a fine place to spend an evening enjoying some of the best sounds in smooth jazz.
