Norman Brown Mindi Abair
by Blueyes on 12/13/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5The show was great !!! Be sure to make something that includes christmas music from you both in the future. Shoots were helpful I'm sure. Keep up the good work.
Norman and Mindi were GREAT!!!!!!!
by BSpratt on 12/8/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5It was a wonderful show. They mixed Christmas music and regular jazz and funk.
Norman and Mindi were on fire!
by Sublyg on 12/8/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5What an awesome show and a great kickoff to the Christmas season. Norman Brown and Mindi Abair are two of the most talented modern jazz musicians to share a stage. They did a great job of mixing in Christmas tunes with some of their most popular music. And the Birchmere is a great music venue - good wait staff, fun atmosphere!
Norman Brown/Mindi Abair were an entertaining duo!
by mercurynfo on 12/7/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5Great diversity and very unique and fun performance.
Norman Brown & Mindi Abair @ The Birchmere, DC
by APXTOTO on 12/7/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5Wow! What a fabulous show it was! Not only did Norman and Mindi perform to their very best – in thier own rights, – but they also enthusiastically brought out the best in each other. Even then, they added the icing to that mouth-watering melodic cake by integrating heart-warming Christmas holiday favorite songs — renditioned with thier own classic, inimitable styles. The memories of their performance will remain for the rest of my life.
Great, but not outta sight.
by MortG on 12/7/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5Norman Brown and Mindi Abair were really good together, playing a good mixture of their individual music and some Christmas tunes. Norman was on, but I felt that Mindi was off -- her notes weren't as clear as they usually are. And her saxophone was amped too high, sometimes to the point of distortion. Although it may seem that I'm dissing the show, I'm not. The energy of the performance, the high spirits between the performers, and the general vibe of the show is one that I recommend highly.
Norman Brown and Frinds was AMAZING!
by AQTPIE on 9/18/09House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5When I purchased tickets, I did not know that Eric Darius and Alex Bugnon were part of the show! This made a great show even greater! The House of Blues-Chicago offered wonderful acoustics and the musicians provided an unforgettable selection of songs. I have been a fan of each artist for some time but this concert WON over and made new fans of the other 5 people in my party!
Norman Brown is never a disappiontment to us!!!!!!

So So
by Reverendo on 8/26/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 4 out of 5The concert was so so due to the fact that Norman Brown was severely preempted due to the lateness of the hour and the local noise ordinance. I and my wife are Norman Brown fans and were shocked disappointed that the power was literally disconnected while in the middle of performing. That was not only disrespectful to Norman, but also to those whom had paid to hear and see him perform. We hope to not have that type of "repeat performance" of this type in the future.
Awesome Concert!!!
by jzzlvr4lyf on 8/25/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5Each artist was absolutely incredible! Euge Groove went over and cut into Norman Brown's time but everyone was enjoying Euge so much, nobody really seemed to care. Norman Brown was amazing (of course) but he shared the stage with sax man - Eric Darius -who is extremely talented! His CD's pale in comparison to his live performance. His live performance was absolutely insane!!! Mable House was the perfect venue for this concert. I will definitely be going back!
euge groove was the bomb
by tsh30039 on 8/25/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5the whole show was awesome but euge groove put on a spectacular show one for the ages to remember, i will definitely go to see him again.
All of the artists were great!
by Peanut50 on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 4 out of 5The concert was scheduled to start at 7pm however due to a late sound check, we didn't enter until 7pm so the concert started late. The artists were rushed and the sound was cut while Norman Brown was performing. That was totally unfair to the fans who spent their money and drove the distance to see these artists. The artist get paid regardless but without the fans......
Good but expected Great
by LaLaGeorgia on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 4 out of 5The open acts, Brian Simpson and Euge Groove were absolutely amazing. However, I was very disappointed that someone did not manage the time and the headliner Norman Brown played for only 45 minutes.. I was truly disappointed. Overall it was a great event but the event was more like Norman closed the show for Euge Groove. I am a big NBrown fan. I hope the next time we see him he gives us more time.
The Show was Awesome!!!!!
by NOLABABY on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 4 out of 5This concert was one of the most unforgetable concerts that I have seen! Brian Simpson was great & Euge Groove just took over the show. I have never danced so much. Norman Brown & his sister Gail Johnson was great and I just could not stay seated. I thought that Eric Darius could have played more but he was super too. The only complaint I have is that the doors were to open at 6:00 PM and the concert was to start at 7:00 PM but... The gates opened at 6:50 PM and the concert started after 7:00 PM. That part of it seemed very disorganized and my party, along with many of the other concert goers, were NOT happy about having us wait to get in the venue.
Norman Brown and group was fantastic!!
by Colete on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5I thoroughly enjoyed the tribute to Waymon Tisdale at Mable House. The musc and entertainers were outstanding. It was my first time at this venue and I loved it. All the artists did their thing.
Converted to jazz by Stormin' Norman
by TeamK on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5As novice jazz listeners, we were prepared for a low-key, easy-listening evening under the stars...WELL, we couldn't sit still. The music so inspired us to get up and dance. The pre-show bands, Brian Simpson and Euge, were smokin' hot, too! We experienced a whole new side of jazz we had never known. I highly recommend these performers. It's a truly soulful and energetic experience.
Euge Groove turned it out!!!
by Jumpman23 on 8/24/09Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5The show was as good as advertised. Keyboardist Brian Simpson opened the show with some good stuff. Norman Brown, Eric Darius and Gail Johnson were terrific but, Euge Groove had the ladies coming up front! They cut the power out on him because he stayed on too long...lol
