About

Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce the long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand by one of the USA’s most critically acclaimed singer/songwriters – nine-time Grammy winner Norah Jones.

The ‘Come Away With Me’ singer will perform three intimate headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart in April 2019, as well as five shows in New Zealand. These will be the beguiling pianist and vocalist’s first performances in Australia in six years – and 14 years in New Zealand! Tickets to all dates go on sale on Thursday 29 November via frontiertouring.com/norahjones.

‘She put on a self-assured show that drew from all aspects of her career while finding focus seated at the piano in her sultry, smoky-voiced comfort zone.’ – Philadelphia Inquirer

‘Norah Jones has always mixed jazz, country, folk and rock, but her concert demonstrated that she has become master of them all... Jones ranged with relaxed abandon through a career-spanning set.’ – Seattle Times

‘Jones has become a more relaxed and mature performer... she is masterful at never overplaying, she also has an eclectic bent and knows how to rock out. Norah Jones keeps getting better with age.’ – Los Angeles Daily News

  • Norah was lukewarm

by Wantedtoleaveearly on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 3 out of 5

What's with the "new" band? The electric piano had a reverberating sound that irritated my nerves. Not into the new sound on her latest album. Won't be purchasing that. Norah, Norah, Norah...where did you go? Come Away With Me was a mix of jazzy and sassy. The new sound is just okay.

  • Worst concert we have ever seen

by ToooooooBad on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 1 out of 5

My wife and I were really looking forward to this concert. We have been big fans of hers since her first multi-platinum album. The venue was great, the sound was great, but all she did was play songs off of her new albums. We were so DISAPPOINTED. She only played 2 songs from her first 2 albums and 1 of them was one of the worst songs off of that album.

  • Norah Jones Rocks the Civic Center

by newmommy7899 on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Opening act of Sarah Jaffe & Robert Gomez were Excellent and Norah and Crew were FABULOUS!! Enjoyed our time with all of them. They all were very personable and chatted with the audience. Great musicians all very multi-talented. A Great show!

  • Norah exceeded my expectations!

by RJAJ on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't a huge fan of Norah's latest album going into the concert but after hearing all of her new songs live I'm excited to go back and listen again as they all sounded amazing. Norah was charming and her performance was effortless, and flawless. I didn't think it was possible for her to sound even better live but that was exactly the case. The music sounded amazing and the flow of the concert was just right. Don't miss Norah on this tour if she comes your way!

Overall, an excellent experience. Was heavily weighted toward her new record, as expected. An amazing voice! But, someone needs to pack the Steinway, her piano sounded like a toy version...

  • Norah Jones was disappointing

by Anonymous on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 2 out of 5

The concert was just disappointing. Norah apparently has a new band, proclaiming that this was just their 4th show--and it showed. Whether then band was altogether off or not, the sound mixing was definitely OFF. There was too much overkill with certain instruments obscuring the vocals Norah is so well known for. Music from Norah's newest album wasn't at all like her previous releases, so instead of clean, clear, melodic voices we heard a lot of sometimes junky and clunky instrumentation. There were a few techno or disco-ish numbers that seemed pretty bad. It didn't help that the venue had people crammed into seats a little worse off than sardines in a can--slightly more uncomfortable than airline travel. Even standing at the end of the concert was uncomfortably close, shoulder to shoulder. The seats did not provide enough space for average adults, let alone those who are larger than average. All in all it was a disappointing evening with the band/mixing off, little show of Norah's spectacular, talented voice, more cover numbers and few of Norah's well-known pieces.

  • Des Moines Civic Center

by kmeIowa on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 3 out of 5

Took the sound engineer about 4 songs before he adjusted the levels down enough for audience to enjoy the great music and voice of Norah Jones. The Civic Center has wonderful acoustics, if a band isn't overloading the place with noise. Norah's older stuff and covers were the best! Future audiences will be happy to know that the warm up band (Sarah Jaffery?) will be different. Every number she sung sounded like a dirge or lament, and its not necessary to put "oooo ooo" in every song (so quickly become a parady of yourself). Would have much preferred to have no warm up band and for Norah's portion to be a bit longer... esp considering the ticket prices.

the cover band wasn't so hot and had to wait until 9 for Nora to come on stage. Was a great show with quite a mix of folks in the packed house.

  • Norah Jones

Norah Norah Norah. I've loved her music since it first came out and last night, I finally got to experience it in person. She did not let me down. Norah and her band played like a well-oiled machine, moving from instrument to instrument with hardly any time between. They were well-balanced and the voices were fantastic. She played a lot of music from her new album and some new mixes of her older stuff. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and I left with a genuine feeling of happiness and sunshine inside of me that only Norah and her music can instill.

  • by swatb98 on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

She played 19 songs during the first set and 3 during the encore. Brilliant musician.

  • Norah Jones played 90mins!

by sparkys1stp on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Norah Jones was incredible. Played for 90 mins straight without the encore. Played all her old stuff alot of new stuff and fun songs in between.

  • Norah was awsome!

by JLGT on 3/10/10Des Moines Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Having Norah play at the Civic center was a great place to see and listen to such a wonderful singer/song writer. The sound was excelent and there wsn't a bad seat. Her new style is a little more electric than in the past, but she was great!. The new band she has put together is a true example of artistry. What a fun night!

  • Norah Jones puts on a fantastic live performance!

by EmilyZinKC on 3/9/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Norah was great live, she engaged with the crowd, the performance as a whole was just fantastic. I would absolutely love to see her live again.

  • Nora Jones

by Muleslayer on 3/8/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 3 out of 5

Concert was wonderful! the seating at the midland consists of little more than folding chairs with a fancy covering. add that to the fact that unless you are in the front row of your seating tier, you will be forced to look around the heads of the people in front of you. i will not attend another function at the midlands.

  • Beautiful evening

Sound was so crisp and her voice is so pure... it was wonderful

  • Norah Jones, ok at best

by kimber49 on 3/8/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 3 out of 5

The Midland is just beautiful! Our seats were behind sound booth, not so good. The opening act for Norah Jones was boring the girl was a big waste of time I almost wanted to boo her off stage. Then Jones took stage. Positives, her voice is so clear and soothing just like on all of her cds. enjoyed hearing all of her songs! Neg. she is no entertainer did not engage at all with fans very low key almost just doing her songs and moving from guitar to piano. No interaction what so ever. She has alot to learn about being in concert and giving the audiance a show for the ticket price. I felt like I was there just listening to her cds, no thrills of seeing a live artist. Save your $$$. till she learns how to be in concert and have her fans glad she was in town!!!

  • Norah Jones is a must see!

Norah has such a sweet, melodic voice! She put on a great performance.
