About

Nine Inch Nails are a progressive, Grammy-winning industrial rock band composed of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Formed in Cleveland, Ohio as a solo project for singer, songwriter and producer Trent Reznor in 1988, Nine Inch Nails have released 11 studio albums, six EPs and three remix albums, starting with 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine and breakout debut singles “Down In It” and “Head Like a Hole.” For 1992’s Broken EP, NIN reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 while its standout record “Wish” won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance. In the midst of hitting No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 1994’s The Downward Spiral and 1999’s The Fragile, respectively, NIN released Hot 100-charting singles “Closer” and “The Perfect Drug” and earned a second Best Metal Performance Grammy at the 1996 ceremony for “Happiness in Slavery.” Nine Inch Nails went on hiatus until the 2005 chart-topper With Teeth, then hit the Hot 100 again with singles “The Hand That Feeds” and “Only,” and later with “Survivalism" from their 2007 follow-up Year Zero. Longtime collaborator and English producer Atticus Ross became an official member of NIN in 2016, established with a trilogy of releases culminating in 2018’s Bad Witch. As composers, the duo have earned two Academy Awards, two Grammys and one Emmy. In 2020, Nine Inch Nails were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. NIN also composed the score for the 2025 film Tron: Ares.

  • Trent continues to amaze me

by NINpoo on 7/13/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to 7 NIN shows in the past 2 years and each one is even better than the one before. Solid setlist, good support from Janes and Streetsweeper. Always count on TR to put on an unforgettable show.

NIN did a great job. I was a little surprised that they opened for Jane's Addiction

  • JA was brilliant. NIN shouldn't have played in day

Trent an the boys gave it all they could but how can you be aggrevied in the daylight? Their previous tour was spectacular. Perry & Co. were brilliant although it looked as though Eric Avery was already done with the reunion. B/A-

  • NIN and Jane's Addiction

by Rizzy on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

Very fun show, however, NIN ended up opening for Jane's Addiction which made no sense at all. NIN was the reason we bought these tickets, and thank God we were there on time because here comes Trent Reznor before sundown! The venue wasn't even full yet! We ended up leaving in the beginning of Jane's because they weren't the ones we were there to see. Otherwise the show was great. But we knew of people who were skipping Jane's and coming later and missed NIN :-(.

  • NIN/JA - kickin off the season: hard to beat

    by Fjacobs1000 on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Though they came on second (three bands total) it wad clear that for most, NIN were the headliner. Trent and company did not dissapoint. They kicked it off with Pinion/Wish, and just smoked it throughout. My kid (12 years old) was livin every minute of it as well. Trent did a great job of mixin in the old, the recent, the new...completely thrashing hard core and moody mellow. If you have never seen NIN live, you should. Well, maybe you should have - they say it's their last tour. We'll see. Openner: Street Sweeper Social Club. Thus is Tom Morello (RATM) and Boots Riley's (Oakland hip hop/rap fame) band. To say that they flipping ROCKED would be an understatment! Oh my god! Harvard educated, street smart with a social consience. Really good stuff - my favorite new band. Closer: Janes Addiction. Saw them years ago in Denver for Lollapalooza. Nearly as great now as they were then. Perry is a nut, Dave Navarro is masterful. Great addition to the bill. Fantastic show!

  • Awsome show!

by dirtpea on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Janes Addiction was great if you were not a fan you will be. It was a crash course in high school memories. Nine Inch Nails was awsome i thought their show was to short other than that it is a must see show!

  • NIN and Jane's Addiction great deal!

by Smom on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

My daughter and her friend had a great time and really enjoyed the concert despite the cool weather and the outdoor venue. I dropped them off at the concert and picked them up. I was a litte worried about their safety since it was their first rock concert, but they returned safely. The venue must have good security. The bands played for a long time and the ticket prices were great ($19 all inclusive!)

  • NIN/Janes Addicstion rocked!

by cjdj on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great. Especially Janes Addiction. Dancing on a slant and drinking a beer and wanting to clap all at the same time.... a challenge.

  • This was a night I will never forget!!

    by Lisa741 on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I have been NIN fans for as long as I can remember. We have been to every concert he has done in Colorado. This one was extra special, not only because it was his last show, but that we got to meet him and be there for the sound check! Trent was incredibly nice and very humble when we met him. I was pretty nervous so I didn't say a whole lot, which I regret now, but it was a moment that I will never forget! We of course got photos and autographs to remember it as well. During the sound check Trent was very entertaining and funny!! They played an amazing show and we just hung out on the green and enjoyed the evening.

  • NIN was good, Jane's Addiction sucked

by auslander on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 2 out of 5

NIN played before Jane's Addiction, meaning NIN was starting before dark which was odd, and gave the impression that NIN was opening the show for JA, which is just plain silly. The NIN show was OK, but the videos etc were not as good as other shows, certainly not close to the RedRocks show a few months ago.

  • NIN and Janes Addiction - a Must See Event!

by RockinRoxy on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Nine Inch Nails was amazing as usual, Trent is never disappointing. Janes Addiction was full of energy and spunk! They put on a great performance. After all these years, both bands still know how to ROCK!

  • Loved Jane's Addiction

I didn't really like NIN but I truly enjoyed Jane's Addiction. I would love to JA again.

  • NIN's time on stage was too short!!

by DeeAnne on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 2 out of 5

NIN's time on stage was way too short!! They ran out of time before playing my favorite songs. Plus, it wasn't even dark yet when they played!! Huge bummer!! And the beer was outrageously expensive!!

  • A Farewell to Nine Inch Nails

by Coke on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

20 years and with this set marking the last set I will see of this band, I am amazed...it was the first time I actually saw them all having a blast. I am thankful for the years of music, the incredible shows and the always cutting edge thinking from Trent. You will be missed.

  • NINJA!

Saw the vegas show and the Denver show. NIN was better if VEGAS. JANES was better DENVER.

  • NIN/JA Tour was the show of the year!

by JoJoBah on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction on 5/31/09 at the DTE Energy Center was one of the best ( if not the best) shows I've been to. NIN was high energy, and spot on... This was my first time seeing Trent Reznor and I'm glad I got to see him perform. This was his wave goodbye tour and it felt like he laid it all down for this show. The crowd was really into it the whole time, myself included. The reason I went to this show was not to see NIN, but to make a pilgramage to see Jane's Addiction, my favorite band of all time. The whole band was intact for the first time in 17 years, and it felt electric and fluid. They seemed to have a heavier sound than the Jane's of old at least in comparison to the recordings I've listened to all these years. Perry sounded great and rocked out like he has always done. You'd never know he was 50 years old these days..... This concert will go down as one of the best times I've had. Only complaints: should have gotten better seats, and the beer is way too expensive.

  • NIN setlist sucked

by Yakity on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

As a fan of NIN, I have to say they were a complete let down. In the year before this concert, they played in MI twice for the Lights Across America (or whatever) tour. That was an excellent show, but I didn't expect to hear most of those songs over again (minus the amazing lights), especially as this is supposed to be a farewell tour. I know they've been playing more rare tracks, and older material, but we didn't get anything significant. It was a real let down, and because of that, I know longer care that NIN is going away. Good riddance. At least I didn't buy the outrageously expensive tix through the fansite. I would have been pissed since this was in no way a show for the fans. I do have to say that Jane's Addiction was awesome. That's why there's 3 stars and not 1. My friend came along just to see them, and they're the only reason I left with a smile on my face.

  • What a let down

by Marley1964 on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 1 out of 5

I am a huge NIN fan and have gone to see their shows in the past. Not a big fan of Janes Addiction.NIN was on first and maybe played 6 songs -no "Head like a Hole","Closer","Hurt",Trent seemed to not care anymore. They left the stage and the addience thought they were going to come back for an encore-nope that was it.We left even before Janes Addiction came on.We got home around 9:30 pm! What a waste of $$$.

  • good times

by Ic3Fire on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

the concert was great. the production that went into the making of the concert was well put together. DTE is always a great show no matter who is playing there. NIN set was low key, alot of instrumental songs, with a few of hits in the middle of them. Janes Addiction played a great set. It was everything i could have hoped for. Great comeback tour guys, hope to see you again soon!!!!
