About

Nine Inch Nails are a progressive, Grammy-winning industrial rock band composed of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Formed in Cleveland, Ohio as a solo project for singer, songwriter and producer Trent Reznor in 1988, Nine Inch Nails have released 11 studio albums, six EPs and three remix albums, starting with 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine and breakout debut singles “Down In It” and “Head Like a Hole.” For 1992’s Broken EP, NIN reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 while its standout record “Wish” won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance. In the midst of hitting No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 1994’s The Downward Spiral and 1999’s The Fragile, respectively, NIN released Hot 100-charting singles “Closer” and “The Perfect Drug” and earned a second Best Metal Performance Grammy at the 1996 ceremony for “Happiness in Slavery.” Nine Inch Nails went on hiatus until the 2005 chart-topper With Teeth, then hit the Hot 100 again with singles “The Hand That Feeds” and “Only,” and later with “Survivalism" from their 2007 follow-up Year Zero. Longtime collaborator and English producer Atticus Ross became an official member of NIN in 2016, established with a trilogy of releases culminating in 2018’s Bad Witch. As composers, the duo have earned two Academy Awards, two Grammys and one Emmy. In 2020, Nine Inch Nails were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. NIN also composed the score for the 2025 film Tron: Ares.

  • NIN rocked

by ilvmiami on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

As usual, Trent and his boys rocked the house. It was a bit odd to listen to the music of Nine Inch Nails in the daylight, but nonetheless most enjoyable. I did feel the set was too short, I could have used more NIN and maybe not as much Jane's Addiction. Not to say that JA wasn't entertaining, not being a big time fan, I did fine Jane's continued interaction with the audience to be enjoyable... All in all, a nice showing.

  • NIN rocked a great show!!!!!!!!

As soon as Trent Reznor and his band started playing it was destined to be an awesome event.

  • Nine Inch Nails Never Ceases To Amaze

Being lucky enough to have seen Nine Inch Nails numerous times, this show was another awesome performance.

  • NINJA was spectacular!!!

by cycoswmn on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

We saw them at DTE Energy, and the show just ROCKED from beginning to end!! My husband was down on concerts due to some bad experiences, but he's wanted to see NIN and Jane's Addiction forever! I got the tickets for his birthday, and WOW I was glad I did! He loved the show so much, that he's ready to see some more! I'd recommend this show to anyone!

  • Nine Inch Nails were awesome! and then, Janes, WOW

by isafe on 7/13/09Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

this was an incredible show! I cannot believe that two incredible bands teamed up and were on ONE ticket. I was there for NINE INCH NAILS and they did not disappoint! Every single song, performance was awesome. Trent is as heavy and beautiful as always. Then Janes Addiction came on, i like them as well, and they were also, just awesome! I would go to one of their concerts, even if NIN weren't of the ticket.

  • NINJA Rocks

by toadskin on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

This concert was a great time. We had three awesome bands back to back to back. The weather was great and the tunes were great. It would have been better if JA played first, or if they had done some tunes together. Otherwise, it was pretty cool

  • NINJA SHOW DENVER

by OPJAY on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 1 out of 5

WAS THE WORST NIN SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN!! THEY PLAYED IN THE DAYLIGHT, AND NOT THE EVENING. EVERYBODY WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT JANES ADDICTION WOULD BE PLAYING FIRST AND NIN HEADLINING...NOPE! NIN OPENED FOR JANES ADDICTION. I HAD FRIENDS WHO MISSED ALL OF NIN BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT NIN WAS HEADLINING AND PLAYING LAST. TERRIBLE SHOW AND I WOULD NOT GO SEE THIS LINE UP AGAIN!!!

  • Janes was great!

by eskimopie on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the concert and got more than I expected in a matter that I can't say thank you loud enough!

  • Jane's Addiction Rocked!

by Kevineoman on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Perry Farrell kicked ass as usual. Not only is he the consumate performer but he always references the local attractions and culture of which ever state he is performing in. Great references to "mile high" and thebreweries. He sings and entertains! NIN was good. A lot of smoke and music was great and almost the same energy as Jane's.

  • What a show!!

by JohnnyNec on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

It was an awsome show! I have seen Nails and Jane's Addiction many times. The venue was excellent. It was easy parking and easy access. The performers put on a great show as always. The weather was perfect and being outside for the show just enhanced it for me!! If you can make to see this act before Trent calls it quits... DO IT! sell something for tickets if you don't have the money!!!!

  • lackluster

    by ninfan82 on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

I've been a huge NIN fan for years, I've seen every concert since the Fragility 2.0 tour with APC. This was the worst NIN set I've seen yet, the lighting was lame, Fiddlers sound sucked(as usual) and the concert ended relatively early. I understand that a lot of the problems with the show were no fault of the band but of the production company.

  • Jane's Rocked!

by nonamegiven on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

I was so glad that Jane's Addiction headlined this show! They totally deserved it this time around. It was my first time seeing Jane's live, and they were so energetic and fun. I'd have to say, though, that the NIN concert at Red Rocks a couple of years ago showcased their talents more than this time, but Trent's always fun to see live. Rock on!

  • Janes Rocks the House

by swervieFan on 7/13/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Got there late and missed Street Sweeper - too bad, was looking forward to seeing them. Security was heavy...probably something to do with all the "scary" looking goths...LOL. Nine Inch Nails took the stage and played a fairly hit-less set (no Closer!) which wasnt necessarily a bad thing - lots of stuff for the hardcore fans. Had seen them in Ottawa a few months back so wasn't too disappointed (Ottawa NIN show was full-out - most impressive visuals/light show i've ever seen!). Janes was up next, and in fine form. First time seeing them, so was happy to hear all the classics (including gems like Summertime Rolls!!)...which was expected for a reunion tour. Perry was dressed like a diva (lol) and Navarro was killer with the riffs. What a night!

  • Could have been better

by denverstacy on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Jane's is my favorite band. It would have been better if Perry wasn't so drunk.

  • NIN

by Maggie8 on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

This was a great concert except for the fact that Nine Inch Nails Was on first! We didn't recognize the opening act so we got there a little late and NIN was almost done. Jane's Addition was awesome and made up the fact that we missed 1/2 the concert

  • NIN/JA concert in colorado was amazing!

by chiwis on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment Street Sweeper Social Club (opening band) started playing to the very end of the Jane's Addiction concert I was in awe! The NIN concert was amazing they played some of my favorite songs (I'm an old time NIN fan), so I felt the concert was more for the fans than for a CD promotion. Overall, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

  • Its sad that Jane's Addiction Rocked more then NIN

by Vandewile on 7/13/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 2 out of 5

I'm sorry, I did not like the fact that NIN decided to play only songs that were not known so well. I'm a big fan of NIN but it made me mad to know that they would not play any songs that were big. Why not play the big hits along with some unknown music that did not make it, especially if its there last tour. I don't know, I was really disappointed though. But before NIN played, the band Street Sweeper Social Club was just amazing. I love Tom Morello (guitarist from RATM and Audioslave). That band played really well and I enjoyed it. I am not a fan of Jane's Addiction but they were so much better. It seemed that they actually got the crowd pumped and excited because NIN played nothing but slow songs.

  • NIN/JA rocks the house

by kashalha on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Though I've seen NIN many times before, and this set was shorter, still the guys played awesome. Trent was disappointed by playing in the sun, but the music was great, their energy could be felt even at the back of the field, which is where i ended up standing. its wonderful to see that even without the lightshow and ambience NIN tries so hard to convey, they are still a band to be applauded. Always awesome. Jane's Addiction was a first time for me, and though i have listened to their music, seeing them live was an unparalleled event. they blew me away, and made me remember why i loved them years ago. absolutely seductive guitar riffs and Perry's signature crooning definitely can put you into an altered state of mind. i would definitely recommend seeing them, and would most assuredly try and see them again myself.

  • Perry blew me away!

by LADYNICKL on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I would have to say that Jane's Addiction was by far AMAZEING!I have seen them befor and will see them again.I think Dave Navaro was great and Perry just blows my mind.I love their energy. There light show was awsome and the way they partisipate with the crowd was great.Don't get me wrong NIN did a great job too.I am just a bigger fan of JA.Great show and I hope they keep it together for another round.

  • Still Got It

by CopaCabanaAna on 7/13/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Jane's Addiction still one of the best live bands of all time for my money. NIN also right up there but the thrill of seeing Jane's again really was the highlight. DTE a great venue as well; great food and parking was well-organized.
