About

Nine Inch Nails are a progressive, Grammy-winning industrial rock band composed of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Formed in Cleveland, Ohio as a solo project for singer, songwriter and producer Trent Reznor in 1988, Nine Inch Nails have released 11 studio albums, six EPs and three remix albums, starting with 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine and breakout debut singles “Down In It” and “Head Like a Hole.” For 1992’s Broken EP, NIN reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 while its standout record “Wish” won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance. In the midst of hitting No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 1994’s The Downward Spiral and 1999’s The Fragile, respectively, NIN released Hot 100-charting singles “Closer” and “The Perfect Drug” and earned a second Best Metal Performance Grammy at the 1996 ceremony for “Happiness in Slavery.” Nine Inch Nails went on hiatus until the 2005 chart-topper With Teeth, then hit the Hot 100 again with singles “The Hand That Feeds” and “Only,” and later with “Survivalism" from their 2007 follow-up Year Zero. Longtime collaborator and English producer Atticus Ross became an official member of NIN in 2016, established with a trilogy of releases culminating in 2018’s Bad Witch. As composers, the duo have earned two Academy Awards, two Grammys and one Emmy. In 2020, Nine Inch Nails were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. NIN also composed the score for the 2025 film Tron: Ares.

  • Fiddler's Green is a lacking venue

    by disappointed1111 on 7/14/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

NIN has been one of my favorite bands for years! I'd definitely categorize them in my Top 5, so when given the opportunity to check out their last tour with Jane's Addiction, I was stoked! I purchased my tickets presale. Maybe it's because the last few times I've seen NIN it's been at Red Rocks, but this show was a huge disappointment. NIN played before Jane's Addiction, and the typical masterpiece stage set-up for Trent to romp around on was basic and bland. Not a normal NIN show, and I'm sad that this is the last show I will have to remember them by since they are not touring the states anymore. I blame Fiddler's green and the quick stage transformations. These bands should have never performed at such a small, suburban venue.

This was a great show! Couldn't have asked for two better artist to perform together. It was so nice to see Janes Addiction come back together and play. If you are a fan at all this is a must see show.

Great show!!! Opening band was "Street Sweeper" and they were surprisingly good.

  • NIN & Jane

by CAZEE on 7/14/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Had a great time, really fun show! The lights and sound were rockin but look at the bands, even if there was no electricity, the show would have been cool! Definetly catch these guys if possible ~ Jane's Addiction surprised me and was even better than NIN!

  • Great concert!

by AnnaLee on 7/14/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Thought that Jane's Addiction should have gone second in the line up and NIN should have gone up last. NIN had a light show with their act and the sun hadn't set yet, so it wasn't as effective as it could have been. Really enjoyed the show though. As a NIN fan, it's the band I came out to see. It was billed as the final NIN performance but I thought that last year's 2008 was more memorable and fitting of a 'final' performance ever. It's the one I'll remember.

  • Unbelievable

  • NIN best part of show

by luckylinde on 7/14/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

It was fun seeing the younger generation enjoying bands I grew up with. I wish NIN had gone after Jane's Addiction as like them a lot more.

  • Blew my mind!

This was the second best concert I've ever been to, hands down. Just positively mind blowing!

  • Jane rocked; NIN left much to be desired.

by Martiniblue on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

As a longtime NIN fan and together with Trent Reznor's announcement that this would be his last tour for a while, I was anticipating a memorable, mind blowing farewell show. The type of show that would leave a fan desiring and waiting for more. NIN went on stage first and the mechanics of the show were fine, nothing flashy. The vocals and the music were good, but there just seemed to be lacking some critical energy and enthusiasm within the performance. It appeared Trent just seemed to be going through the motions of his routine, almost as if the fact he was on stage was coincidental and he couldn’t wait to be finished. The general consensus of the crowd at the end of his show was, “That was it?” and “What the hell?” Thanks to Jane’s Addiction, the second act brought it back together. They brought in the energy and stage presence that the crowd was so desperately looking for. DTE rocked out to Been Caught Stealing, Coming Down the Mountain and Jane Says. It was painfully obvious that Jane’s performance was able to turn that show around; otherwise it would have been a complete disappointment. I’ll definitely go see Jane’s Addiction again; NIN made it plainly obvious that a break from the music world is apparently needed. Will I go see NIN again? That decision will not be an automatic yes as it had been in the past, but will require some serious reasoning and soul searching. We shall see.

  • Jane's Addiction & NIN

by sseebb1989 on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

I thought this concert was amazing! Nine Inch Nails was alright because they played during the day so you really couldn't see much of the show; however, I've seen them two times already so I didn't mind. Jane's Addiction was AWESOME! They played at night so you could see their whole set vividly!

  • Why First???Not cool

by Whitecobra69 on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Why would the headline band go on first? We were in the parking lot waiting for NIN when I thought I heard them playing. I told my girlfriend that we need to go in because they are on now! She said its Janes Addiction. I said no its NIN. So we go into the venue and sure enough, NIN playing in the sunshine and we missed half the show! That is crap. We didn't go for Janes Addiction. But all in all we enjoyed NIN and split after they were done. Glad we didn't buy better seats! There might have been a riot. I talked to alot of people and everyone of them was upset. Will I go see NIN again?? I don't think so.

  • not for NIN fans... Jane's addiction headlining

by Tawb on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 1 out of 5

Trent Reznor usually does about a 3 hour set... he was on before 8pm, and maybe played for 1.5 hours... i was very disappointed.

  • NIN|JA was AMAZING!!!!!

by m007 on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

what an awesome show....i was surprised to see trent reznor walk onto the stage when i sat down in my seat...i thought that NIN was headlining....but it was a great surprise -- he is so talented and i'm glad i was able to be a part of his show....however, janes addiction brought the house down. dave navarro is a rock god and perry farrell is one of the most incredible entertainers i have ever seen. this show was amazing!

  • Needed more NIN

by PlumCrazy on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

Don't know why they decided to make Jane's Addiction the headliner. I thought they were the opening act. Very disappointed that they made NIN get off the stage so soon. They never even got to play Closer. I've seen NIN before and Trent really knows how to put on a show. They should have been the headliner!!!!!!!! Jane's Addiction was good but they do not trumph NIN.

  • NINJA was incredible!

    by Mikka22 on 7/14/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

NIN and Jane's Addiction at Fiddlers Green was a great show. For both bands, the set lists included a variety of old favorites as well as newer releases, and they kept the energy high throughout the show. NIN even performed "Dead Souls" from The Crow, which was an unexpected surprise!

  • NIN & Jane's Addiction Amazing as Always

    by heresy420 on 7/14/09Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Both NIN and Jane's Addiction were at their best. Absolutely fabulous. Both bands played music that spanned the years and were in top form. Plan to get there early. This was the first NIN show we'd been to that started on time and we missed some of the performance. NIN played before Jane's Addiction and it seemed that the sun would never go down. NIN is meant to be heard in the DARK.

  • Trent Reznor is the man

by Jhaddad963 on 7/14/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

So I love NIN and Janes addiction the concert was great, But I did have much higher expectations of what the concert would be I guess. For one I thought NIN would be head lining so I was confused when NIN came on before Jane's Addiction. But all in all it was a good show and I would go see them again.
