Just have to say, hands down, one of the greatest performances. He is such an amazing artist. He genuinely captured that beautiful sound from a beautiful era and brought it here with us today, putting his very own original sound and look in the process. Can not wait for the next one!!
Haven't heard of Nick Waterhouse? Well, you will. I saw him in Cleveland a week ago and he is very impressive. He has this new old sound which catches your ear and is an up and coming musician. I think we will hear Nick for many years to come.
Although this was the east coast band and not the band that recorded the CD, they were tight and Nick was fantastic. It was a Monday night and the main restaurant and bar were closed and the main concert hall. But the smaller and more interment side room provided an excellent place to view the band. I got to meet the keyboard player and Nick individually. What a great opportunity. The show was grand from top to bottom. A great baritone sax player and what a beautiful voice on the (only) backup singer. 10 thumbs up for Nick Waterhouse!!!!
Nick Waterhouse – accompanied by a band comprised of keyboards, baritone sax, drums, bass and a sensational backup vocalist – delivered a tight, high-energy performance that held the audience captive from the moment they took the stage until the house lights came up after the final song. Mr. Waterhouse is a talented young songwriter and guitarist. Don’t be fooled by his age or relative obscurity. Remember the name: Nick Waterhouse is going places.
Very good performance of Nick Waterhouse and his amazing band including 2 excellent background singers and a very talented woman playing the saxophone and of course the bassist, drummer and keys! Great songs to dance your behind off ;-)
Loved the show music was awesome. Very upbeat and entertaining. A throwback style yet very contemporary. Pep was a great compliment to N. Waterhouse as styles blended very nicely.
What a great opening act. They did some dowop only with well written original songs and 3 very cute women. Two of them sang backup while one sang lead. Their moves were choreographed and their clothes matched. It was a very unexpected joy
Young Nick Waterhouse' blend of retro-soul and Rand B was a nice fit for the open space that is the Brighton Music Hall. He played most of what appears on his 2 records and managed to wade through some early sound problems. His band is top-notch, and the performance was steady with nice highs and no low points, which should make Waterhouse a talent to watch. It was great to see the reaction of the audience, many of whom had never heard Nick's music live. We positioned ourselves near the stage (no seats in this venue)- which was fine, and got to chat with Nick briefly after the performance.
Nick was great as usual. Shame he was having sound problem with his mic.
he played an amazing set. the best mixed show i've ever been to. waterhouse is a knockout performer. a crowd pleaser but with integrity to his movement and sound.
And he and his band (with a smaller horn section than last time but give it up for that baritone sax) did not disappoint. Venue was small but sounded great! Crowd was typical jaded Brooklyn people, almost no dancing. Would recommend Nick in a larger venue when possible...his show at Bowery Ballroom earlier this year was definitely higher energy. But see him whenever he's in town!
Great show. Nick Waterhouse is great and a must see.
Wonderful show and great artistry. I'd recommend seeing Mr. Waterhouse live!
This was my first time seeing Nick Waterhouse live! I recently discovered this band and was blown away. Even if i didnt know every song, each tune had me swinging. The musicians rocked it and they got the whole audience dancing (which is tough to do for a crowd full of new yorkers). Loved this group! They bertter come back soon!
The Nick Waterhouse show at the Brighton Music Hall was amazing!!! He sounds just as good, if not better than on the record!
This show was amazing great intimate venue . Nick waterhouse was on top of his game as was everyone else in the backing band. Please people you owe it to yourself and your loved ones too go and see nick waterrhouse i promise it wll be one of your favorite shows and generally amazing
The show was really great. The opening act was good but slow and repetitive. Doors opened at 8 but no one went on until 930. The time between sets seemed way longer then necessary. Nick Waterhouse played a great set. The band was good. The songs were upbeat. The crowd interaction was contagious. The encore with both bands was fantastic. The concert experience should have gone smoother with better time management, especially on a Sunday night. Didnt get home until 130 with work at eight. If the tickets had cost more it wouldnt have been worth it but they were reasonably priced so i was happy.
First band didn't perform, but Nick Water House was amazing.
LOVED it. Nick Waterhouse and Allah-Las are two amazing groups that clearly do what they love. When people like that perform to an audience that appreciates what they do, there's no end to how beautiful an event like this can be. I'm SO grateful for the experience they gave us and I wish them the very best on their euro tour.
