Nick Offerman is a truly funny and genuine persona. His show isn't a typical stand-up with presenting jokes but a lecture on a good life with funny anecdotes. His combination of sharing his wisdom on what is really important in life with giving examples in a humorous way makes his stand-up original and inspiring. He filled the whole theater with positive energy and optimism which follows you days after the show. Thanks for the great time and inspiration, Nick!

I love Parks and Rec and thought I would love this. Show was really long and drawn out at times. A 2 hour stand up routine would be great for say, Jerry Seinfeld, but I could see Offerman struggling. Though this was being taped for his comedy special hopefully the magic of the editing room will make it work wonders.
Disappointed in act and in space
by LoveRonSwanson on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5The act itself was entertaining if a little strange. It was less of a comedy routine and more of Nick Offerman's views on life. Don't get me wrong--that's perfectly entertaining as well (especially for those who enjoy his personality on "Parks and Rec."), but the event may have left some disappointed. Apparently in an attempt to compensate, Mr. Offerman threw in a bunch of curses and unnecessarily raunchy bits that weren't entirely consistent with the persona he usually plays. I and the others in my group were still reasonably entertained but the space was really disappointing. We were seating in the balcony and it was incredibly hot. We had a hard time staying awake in the sauna up there. Synopsis: Nick Offerman is entertaining when he's being himself (Ron Swanson?) but this is not your normal comedy routine. The Town Hall needs to investigate its heating system.
Ron Swanson lives and breathes!!
by Anonymous on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation) was very funny. His stand-up was a series of funny stories told in the dry, official manner that his character on TV speaks in. He had a hard time keeping a straight face through some of it, which only added to the laughs. Some of his stories were a little dirty but he even kept the dirty stuff pretty clean. As his act progressed, I realized that he doesn't so much PLAY Ron Swanson on TV as much as he actually IS Ron Swanson in real life. He clearly based his TV character on himself. I would definitely recommend his act.
Nick is the epitome of Manhood
by Pips on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5While most gentlemen will not learn something new at a show of this sort, there are so few real gentlemen out there that I can only hope Nick and his ilk continue to spread the gospel. The show was funny, sweet and smart. Recommended
Nick Offerman's "American Ham" A Must-See
by Fogsworth on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Offerman isn't a comedian, but he certainly is a funny guy. He took the audience through his list of 10 steps to live a fulfilling life, elaborating on each one with stories from his life and the occasional song. Seeing him live, you can expect to laugh the whole time and maybe even leave inspired.
Nick Offerman was terrible.
by Anonymous on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5To start off, I am a big fan of Nick Offerman "IN" Parks and Recreation. In American Ham, not so much! This show was awful. It was slow, boring, and offensive. Not sure why he thought he had to use disgusting language constantly other than for shock value. Not needed if you are actually funny. Our group of 4 are in our 50's and the audience was for the most part, younger looking They seemed to enjoy it to the point of laughing constantly even when there was nothing funny to laugh at. I have never walked out of any show ever, but we did here. Total waste of money! I gave it one star only because It wouldn't let me give it zero.
Offerman was horrible
by Aceman1969 on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5This show was the absolute worst comedy show I have ever seen starting from the opening act.there were four of us that went and two of us fell asleep half way through.we ended up walking out just over the half way point.I was very disappointed because I spent $45.00 a ticket and ended up wasting my vacation time in New York.
Really bad
by MarkfromVirginia on 3/4/13Town Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5Took the (adult) kids, as we all enjoy watching P&R. The opening act was an accordion player. I just didn't get it. Nick O started out OK and the first 15 minutes was funny. But his droning voice can't sustain 90 minutes, which is the point that we walked out. Also, the comedy was pretty raunchy. Not what I was expecting.
Worst show I've ever attended
by Rockchalk13 on 3/3/13Midtown - Kansas CityRating: 1 out of 5Well I would have walked out sooner than 45 mins into the show but my gf had never been to a comedy show so I was hoping it would get better. He slammed Christianity for about 15 minutes, but it wasn't even funny, it was offensive. I think I laughed a couple times during a song bc he said some profanity. I would highly not recommend this show if you are a conservative. The show was boring and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I have never walked out of a show or movie but this was horrendous.
Disappointing, disjointed, and LONG!
by HooperStreet on 3/3/13Town Hall - NYCRating: 1 out of 5I am a huge fan of P&R, Ron Swanson in particular, and I thought we'd be golden to see Nick Offerman Live. However, as someone who worked (as an employee, not a comedian) in comedy clubs in NYC for years and has seen literally hundreds of shows, I ignored one of my most fundamental tenants of what makes for a good night of comedy. It is this: Just because someone is undeniably hilarious on a television show, does not mean they have a background or skill in the art of standup. To be fair, I don't know that he was pitching his show as 'standup' per say, but I'd categorize it as 'standup' over any other format. There was no clear voice to the show. It felt like a commencement speech more than anything else. Long, languid 'life lessons' peppered with 'humour'. Halfway through lesson number one (of TEN), I was getting very nervous and calculating the length of time for the remaining nine with a bit of panic. There were glimpses of the Ron Swanson character, but it wasn't consistently maintained, so the tone was a bit muddled. It felt underrehearsed, sloppy, and amateurish. It simply wasn't a tight, streamlined set. The material was lacking. Not particularly sharp or clever. Some seeds of ideas you might hear on a Tuesday night 'bringer-show' where new comics are forced to bring audience members to earn stage time. It's painful...but you forgive them because they're just starting out...and they get 7 minutes on stage. I desperately wanted to leave 20 min in, and if we'd been on an isle, I would have. But we were in the third row and I don't think we could have pulled it off with any grace. We were in our seats for 2.5 painful hours without a break or an opportunity to bolt. It was really unfortunate. When he exited, and before the encore, we crawled over our seat mates and took off up the asile, only to discover dozens of others making their exit as well. It was cool to see him, and I wish I could give it a better review, but it was one of the worst nights of 'entertainment' I've had to sit through in a while. We watched Parks and Rec straightaway upon returning home (well the next day since we didn't get home unil 1:30 am...ooof), just to ensure we hadn't lost our connection with Ron Swanson forever. Luckily, the brilliant writers on Parks and Rec give him perfect material with which to shine and we found our love for RS is still strong. Lesson learned, I'll not be seeking him out for live comedy again anytime soon.
Simply amazing... what a great evening!

Tolerance
by shajuels on 2/22/13Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5For a man that preaches on tolerance, he sure was intolerant towards spirituality and Jesus Christ. VERY offensive.

Nick Offerman Offers Laughs!
by JenniCrispin75 on 2/19/13Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5AWESOME, he is SO funny! He had me laughing so hard I was crying.
A little too much profanity
by Anonymous on 2/19/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5I think a really talented comedian can be funny without using a lot of profanity. I had high hopes going to this performance. While I thought he had moments that were hilarious and I enjoyed his overall theme, it could have been better without the vulgarity and extent of religious insults. I feel like an uptight old fogey saying that but it's true. But that's the fun of seeing comedians live, you never know what you're going to get. Predictable is boring. If you like a lot of sex jokes and ragging on the Bible, then this show is for you.
Entertaining
by LargeFarva on 2/19/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Offerman was pretty funny. I enjoyed his approach to stand up and appreciated the true Ron Swanson coming out.
HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!
by cgla on 2/19/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I think he is just soooo funny, I was nonstop laughing. And I had no idea what to expect going into this (was only familiar with parks and recs). I've been talking about this show all weekend.

Keith should leave politics and personal theology out of his performance, and expand on the humour.
