  • Offerman + a hungover Charles Bronson = RonSwanson

by NicolasName on 10/6/13The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Offerman was fantastic! His slice of life, anecdotal form of standup and delivery is perfect. The whole experience of his presentation comes in the form of a list: 10 tips for prosperity. For some reason it feels like the whole list element gives purpose to the show, I just went there to laugh, and I did! But I actually agreed with Offerman's observations and took something away from the event. I need to get a discipline, and not sit here at 9am writing reviews!

  • Long and Boring

    by Bubbles583 on 10/6/13The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I didn't pay for a lecture, maybe 3 funny parts for a 2.5 hour show

  • Nick Offerman was very funny

by terridej on 10/6/13The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I thought his act was a little long, but he was witty, charming and hilarious at times!

  • Nick Offerman Impresses in Chicago!

    by jubby4000 on 10/6/13The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

MAN! Nick Offerman entertained us for TWO solid hours with his hilarious stories and songs at the Chicago Theater. I'm not sure if he was going all-out for his hometown crowd (which included several members of his family), but boy were we impressed! He's very funny without putting on any Ron Swanson swagger at all, but this PARKS & REC fan especially enjoyed his closing song, his own take on MouseRat's "5000 Candles in the Wind" (AKA "Bye Bye Li'l Sebastian").

  • Meh...

by nealdas on 10/4/13Chicago Theater - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

First and foremost I am a Ron Swanson fan, that being said buying the tickets for the show didn't take a moment for me to decide. Getting to the show itself, Nick offerman had an absolutely atrocious opening I guess you could call him an act but it was a man playing an accordion with a drum stick attached to his foot with a cymbal on the ground. After that 10 minutes of "entertainment" subsided he came to the stage, he was entertaining for about I would say 30 minutes of the 90 minute set.. the other 60 were spent trying to transition from point A to point B, preaching inanely, and calling out hypocrisies of the bible.. Long and the short of it: Ron Swanson shows up for about 30 or so minutes which was legitimately funny Nick Offerman shows up for 60 minutes.. which after seeing some true professionals such as Dana Carvey, Jim Breuer, and Eddie Griffin, Nick is out of his league in stage presence and comedic chops when being compared to some of the aforementioned..

  • So much fun

    by Moonwalk81 on 9/18/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

We decided to get tickets for this event somewhat blindly. Being fans of both Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, we knew there would be a good chance of being entertained, but in any case of seeing celebrities live for the first time there is always the risk of disappointment. Thankfully this was not the case. We had such a great time and were smiling and laughing during the entire show. It was a real pleasure to be in the audience for this special event.

  • Nick Offerman is the man!

by ddmurphy on 9/10/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Nick is hilarious, witty, adorable, and sure does love his wife. He is definitely worth seeing outside of his role on Parks and Rec. I was a little skeptical what to expect but I am SO HAPPY I took a chance and saw the show. His life lessons are invaluable. Be sure to choose seating in the center, off to the side where I sat was so crammed and uncomfortable. I like Megan Mullally but could have done without her band.

  • Solid Show

by TickyTickyTomTom on 9/8/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 4 out of 5

Spoilers abound: Megan Mullally's vaudevillian-folk-ed-sullivan-esque band was a great opener and made even funnier by their rap covers. Offerman's ramblings are very funny and reminiscent of a less intelligent Mark Twain impersonator I knew. Bible-belters beware - he spends half of the show talking about how ridiculous Leviticus is and how much we should all smoke doobies with Jesus. Definitely an adult-oriented show with much profanity, sex humor, and bodily functional hilarity. Also, this is not really a stand up comedy show, which Offerman is quick to point out, though it is often very very funny.

  • Just too long

by Jonpauli on 9/8/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 3 out of 5

Seriously interesting but I just felt like he talked forever.. And was more of a lecture than something comedic

  • Slightly boring

by RivieraRed on 9/8/13The Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 2 out of 5

Concept was good, however just seemed like ranting. I thought offerman seemed funny witty and intelligent, but was not totally entertaining. Maybe show as just too Lon. Glad nancy and Beth was there.

  • Offerman was better on stage than Swanson

by Anonymous on 9/8/13The Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 4 out of 5

Offerman's popularity is mainly driven by his Parks and Rec character. However it should be obvious that Rob Swanson won't be taking the stage (remember... He did that during the telethon and everyone fell asleep). Instead, Offerman himself offers a series of unique talents. Though still early in his stand up career and figuring out his stage manner, the guy knows how to entertain, understands his fan base , and is genuinely funny. Opening act made my jaw drop. ..a big surprise.

  • needed more ron swanson

Couldn't have asked for more. Nick was hilarious and was able to be funny without telling jokes. Such a unique show and really enjoyable.

  • Most excruciating show ever!

by Anonymous on 9/7/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 1 out of 5

This was the most awful show I have ever been to. To call it a comedy show would be an insult. He told some stories and personal thoughts for a few hours, often going off on tangents, never actually making a punch line. Worst part of his story telling is that he tells a story like that one friend we all have that has to include the unnecessary parts in an already long drawn out story that no one wanted to hear in the first place. He then went on a political rant for about 30+ mins on the church and state and gay rights. Now plenty of comedians have done this, but at least they are entertaining and funny in the way they go about it. He just made himself look like an idiot who heard a rant from someone else and tried to regurgitate it himself. We walked out after an hour an a half of realizing it wasnt getting any better and that he still had a ways to go considering we were on point 5 of 10 in his story.

Awesome, hilarious show! Great mix of stand-up, music, anecdotes, etc.

  • by Khop77 on 9/7/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 1 out of 5

Hated it and almost walked out. Too long, and tipped the scales from being edgy to endlessly disparaging people he disagrees with. Found it to be a glorious waste of an evening that wouldn't seem to end. He should stick to scripted TV.

  • Needs to be edited

by Anonymous on 9/7/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 2 out of 5

The musical opening act was amazing but after that things went slightly down hill. The first hour of his act was alright but hour two should have been cut; he just decided to be crude for no reason. The upside was you got your money's worth out of the tickets for the 2 and half hour long show.

  • Pretty painful with a caveat

by Ellicottrocks on 9/7/13Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 1 out of 5

Disappointed. Not a standup show, just 2.5 hours of rambling with some decent music from Megan mulally sprinkled in. Only good part was when he went on a libertarian rant about how ridiculous people are for objecting to gay marriage. Fortunately I agree with his social views, but wow if I was a devout Christian, I would have hated this show even more. Tons of ripping on the bible and Christians. There's no references to parks and rec till the bitter end. The whole show was just a long rant.

  • Hilarious and Completely

by jerrygurgich on 9/6/13Tower Theatre - Upper DarbyRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I are big Parks & Rec fans (and obviously Ron Swanson is our favorite character) so we bought tickets without knowing what Nick Offerman, classically trained actor, was going to do...was he going to be in character as Ron Swanson? maybe he would do a variety show? We really had no idea what to expect and were blow away. First off, Megan Mullaly's band was great and provided an awesome musical opening act. Then Nick came out and did a solid 1.5 hour stand up & musical routine (that had little if anything to do w/ P&R) based on his 9 principals for living a prosperous life which had me laughing as hard as I can remember at a show in some time. Overall, the show blew me away and is a must see for any fan of Ron Swanson or just good old fashioned comedy.
