  • Sadly Lacking

by WorthingSmythII on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

I had high hopes for these two. I was let down. They seemed like they were making it up as they went along and were praying that something funny would fall out. It didn't. I did not object to the sexual content, but I did object to the feeling that I had wasted my money to come to what was nothing more than a bad rehearsal. These two are talented but they did not show it in this preformance. The sound was bad, the auditorium was a bad choice, the material failed to show any of their talent.

  • Nick Offerman @ DAR in DC

by Anonymous on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Nick Offerman and his wife Megan Mullaly put on a comedy variety show of sorts. There was a general stand up element, a few raunchy songs and stories about past hook-ups. I really love Nick and Megan, so when I dropped $45 per seat, I was hoping for an entertaining show. The good: The love that these two have is undeniable, and they were at their best when they had witty back and forth jokes or songs. They are very funny and parts of the show were hilarious. The raunchy songs in the show's first half were well received but suprisingly lacking after that. Not so good: overall the show was not well thought-out. Too many long drawn out stories of past sexual adventures that lacked good finishes. Too many awkward silences. Not enough laugh-out-loud moments. Too much reliance on jokes about their sex life... Just got repetitive after a while. Also, Nick and Megan are not stand up comics. They frequently read from scripts, which detracted from the comedic timing. Stories often dragged on as if unrehearsed. At one point Megan forgot how to play a song they were trying to start.

  • Hysterical work in progress

by CTrebs on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Nick and Megan are perfect together and this show is all about them and sex and love. It's raunchy and sexual and amazingly hysterical just like the two of them are. The DC show was the first they've done together, and you could definitely tell. They were reading off scripts a lot, and pausing awkwardly, but most of the time they were just talking and playing off each others stories and audience feedback and it was fun. It's definitely a show for couples or best friends with phenomenal senses of humor - it's not a family friendly show. Dont take your kids or your parents. Overall, I highly recommend the show

  • their songs were really funny but the stories long

    by jco71 on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

This was a fun show that started out strong with several songs that were equal measures funny, smart, sassy & dirty - awesome! The stories tended to go on too long and while they were funny in both content and delivery was just too long-winded.

  • Disappointing Performance by Nick Offerman

by DCshea on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

While Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally's two-hour tale of their sexual relationship was filled with several highlights and good laughs, the duo's unscripted storytelling left for a number of uncomfortable lulls and dull exchanges that usurped the momentum built by their more creative moments. While Nick and Megan's improvisational skills are commendable, their onstage banter relied too heavily on those skills rather than their crafty writing. In a variety show punctuated by about five raunchy musical numbers, Offerman and Mullally were unpolished and unprofessional as it was often difficult to understand their comedic lyrics due to cat-and-dog voices that battled each other for supremacy. Fans of 'Parks and Recreation' and 'Will and Grace' will be pleased to see these stars deliver unabashed stories of their "sexual prowess" and adventuresome relationship, but those expecting a well written and cohesive comedy show will be disappointed with the results. Given the relatively high pricetag of the event, the audience was right to expect a more polished performance that would be expected from one of Hollywood's most well respected comedy couple.

  • Ron Swanson and Tammy 2 are worth seeing in person

by DCJaguar on 6/16/14DAR Constitution Hall - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally (aka Ron Swanson and Tammy 2 from Parks and Rec) gave a hilarious performance that alternated between bawdy reminiscences from their love life and irreverent songs along the same line. Beyond the hilarity of having Ron Swanson and Tammy 2 educate you on the subject of love, it was actually pretty neat to see the chemistry and comradery the real life married couple actually has off screen.

  • Offerlly was fantastic!

Very amusing show. I wasn't sure what to expect prior. They were very creative, amazingly delightfully crude, and just plain hilarious. I'd go see them again!

Nick and Megan were funny and genuine. Although it was easy to tell that this was their first performance in front of an audience of this material, they seemed comfortable in this setting and were entertaining throughout the course of the show. I think future shows will be even better as they smooth out some of the small rough edges.

  • Yawning and self-involved

I love these two. Love them. This just wasn't good or interesting, but sadly, it seems they thought they were.

Fun show. Extremely raunchy. Religious people should skip it. The dialog is like going out to dinner with a fun couple you don’t see often.

  • Bye bye, Li'l Sebastian!

by Scott91651 on 11/19/13House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Having just read "Paddle Your Own Canoe", and being a big fan of Ron Swanson, I went to this show with big expectations, and Mr. Offerman did not disappoint. His show is rooted in the honorable tenets espoused in his book, and he elaborated on many issues well. I think it would have been funny anyway, but for me, some of it was more appreciated due to this previous knowledge. His guitar playing and songs were humorous, (his singing reminding me in places of Mr. Haney from "Green Acres"), and the partial nudity was not in any way off-putting. (You will, I believe, have to attend his show to ever hear the giggling laugh that Ron Swanson does not share.) On top of that, he is a true American, (and not just a ham) - I hope he and Ron run for office as a team sometime - I'd vote for them!

Hilarious, insightful, and Nick Offerman has the funniest laugh in the history of laughs.

  • by xdirtyboots on 11/19/13House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Hilarious. Life-changing. Per usual, House of Blues staff were pretty rude and dismissive, but there's no way they were going to ruin the show.

  • Nick Offerman Was Hilarious

Very funny, not your typical standup show format but very funny and unique. Seemed to upset some people nearby but then again that only made it funnier in my eyes.
