NICK OFFERMAN & MEGAN MULLALLY LIVE:

After a dozen years of marriage, comedy super couple Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally have turned their raunchiest and funniest personal experiences into their new stage show Summer of 69: No Apostrophe. Known for delivering the laughs on shows like Will & Grace and Parks and Recreation, the pair makes it personal in this variety show by offering a rare glimpse into what goes on behind closed doors in their captivating and adventurous relationship. In addition to endless laughs ticket buyers will receive life lessons, ribald songs, and classic gags all in equal measure. Summer of 69: No Apostrophe is touring select cities across America to make all of your hilarious fantasies come true.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman initially hit it off while the two were working on The Berlin Circle, a play that ran in Los Angeles in 2000.  After a couple of warm-up years, the comedic duo was wed and they haven’t looked back since. Initially more established than Offerman, Mullally helped him transition to television acting with a guest spot on her long-running sitcom Will & Grace. After Offerman landed the role of Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, he repaid the favor by recommending her for the role of his character’s bizarrely sexual ex-wife. As his star has risen in recent years the two have found more opportunities to work together, including the films Smashed (2012) and The Kings of Summer (2013). In fact, the couple devised Summer of 69: No Apostrophe as a way to tour together and avoid the time apart that usually comes when trying to coordinate two successful acting careers.

    Intelligent subtle humor

by Hetfield on 4/21/15Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

The show was excellent. Basically the story of their lives. Their humor is subtle and intelligent, presented through a series or stories and songs. Perfectly offensive, the way comedy should be. If you are a fan of either of them, you will get it, and love it!

Cute, but not really what I expected

by GabbyZ on 4/21/15Bayou Music Center - Houston

The show was a little too cutesy for my taste - even with the risque humor. The premise of their routine was "the media's talking about our relationship a lot - we're going to talk about it more." Nick Offerman has the ability to make one laugh with a simple gesture - he's so natural on stage. I felt like Megan Mullally was overshadowed by her husband. She's got a great voice, though! Like a little pixie with a ukulele. The sang some songs that were clever and funny (mostly about doing it). Overall - would recommend the show. It was neat to see those two on stage and in person. They definitely have a great chemistry and a genuine love for one another. That was really sweet. CON - the venue. Talk about uncomfortable seating. I mean, you've got to make friends when they put the seats down in the (usually) general admission area at Bayou Music. And there was only about 8 inches of space between the rows - no joke. So anytime someone had to get to the aisle, it was quite comedic. Imagine Benny Hill music playing. Did I mention it was hot! Like, HOT! So not only was I just about on top of my new friends, we were literally stuck together. Gross.

    Nick "Offer-me" my Money Back

by DMikeyB on 4/21/15Bayou Music Center - Houston

After opening strong with a very funny song, the seemingly unrehearsed act fell short of expectations. Except for a few other dirty tunes inserted here and there (all well done, but not very funny), the show quickly fell flat and never regained momentum. The songs/jokes/dialogue were focused on the couple's sex lives, and they quickly became predictable and boring. It was as if they woke up one morning and said, "Instead of having sex, let's just talk about our sex lives and let people pay to hear us ramble." The venue may have been partially to blame because the interaction between the two was an obviously important element of the act, but it was difficult to appreciate unless you were seated in the first few rows of the theater.

I walked out after an hour

by Lena999 on 4/21/15Bayou Music Center - Houston

I had such high expectations. These are two very talented comic actors. There is so much they could have done with a platform like this to display their talent but instead they sang the one note song of their sex life. There isn't a prudish bone in my body, but I found it to be mostly tacky, horribly irreverent, and just plain boring. The show started late at 8:15 and we were out the door by 9:20.

    Beyond horrible

by NickPage1 on 4/21/15Bayou Music Center - Houston

So bad, we left after the first 10 minutes. Actors don't necessarily make decent comedians and this proves precisely that. If you want to hear about a naked Jesus and details about that, bad songs, scripted talk, then you might enjoy. Worst show I have ever seen. Do not go!

I wish I could forget this experience

by Birdgirl81694 on 4/20/15Bayou Music Center - Houston

I attended this event in Houston with 6 friends. It was awful! We ended up leaving because it was NOT funny. In fact I think a laugh track had to have been used. I love Megan and was looking forward to the experience. Their delivery was terrible and they were reading from a script. Do not waste your time.

    Bad show

by Anna1201 on 4/20/15Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

I love these two people on a sitcom level, but this show was awful. They tried to be funny and share their stories, but it did not play out very well at all. The best part of the show was with the audience interaction. They need to work on their act some more before taking it back out on the road.

    Offerman/Mullally unorganized

by Loosing on 4/19/15Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

The "show" was very loose. Not a double set of comedy, but both on stage at the same time. Sometimes they sang songs together, told the story of how they met, how they got engaged, how they got married, etc. They pulled up a few people from the audience...sometimes it worked, sometimes it was lame. Seemed like a time killer to me. Sometimes it was funny, other times it drug on too much.

    Great Show!

    by SDALLAS2013 on 4/16/15Majestic Dallas - Dallas

If you are a stick in the mud, you may not like this show. But they seemed real and were really funny. I highly suggest you check the show out. We loved it!
