About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Game - great! Leadup to game - SUCKED!

    by March@ndTheRat on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Game was great, better than advertised, lived up to all the buildup. Excellent coverage and participation throughout the city, Raleigh is absolutely a major league NHL market. Best fan base anywhere! HUGE CANIACS ROCK! Parking from anyone coming from I-40 W though.... traffic control was a bad joke. Parked on the 289 exit for 98 minutes without moving, arriving at 1:45. Eventually made our way to an off site lot even though we paid the $42 for parking. Terrible. PNC and RPD do a wonderful job, next time hire THEM to do the parking!

  • Stadium experience

by Jilly on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Venue didn’t manage entry and scanning tickets well. Not sure they were used to a crowd of 60k

  • Shwing

by Shwing on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Most everything was very well done, and the experience was great. However, the traffic ingress and egress was staffed by personnel that was hired by the NHL…..people who had never worked the venue. As a result, the traffic was a nightmare. A 4th grader could have figured out a better way to handle the traffic. Other than that, it was an incredible event. Also, they actually handled the concessions better than ever.

  • Could have been better

by JimmyO on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Traffic was horrendous, parking a nightmare (no control over parking...and we paid $40 for a parking pass only to find out they just let people in....smh). Sound system sucked, game was okay (bad if you were a caps fan...great if you were a canes fan)...big crowd, great atmosphere... worth the price of admission...maybe a bit high, but still an entertaining experience.

  • Mostly good, but a few big misses!!

by Bobby D. on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The event at the stadium was incredible. One word to describe it would be ELECTRIC! On the other hand, when you paid $40 for a parking spot and no one even scanned your pass or directed you to a space was a huge problem for many attendees. Also, getting into the stadium was a bottleneck mass that took over 60 minutes to enter. Saturday night was the tale of two cities …an electric event with two logistic areas that fell woefully short!!

  • What are Saturdays For?

by Nakovich on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The Boys!!! Thank You Gabe, Griffin, Jaxon for Experiencing Carolina Hockey-Caniacs for Life. Outdoor Stadium Game was like being in Vegas. A lot of excitement!!!

  • Worst experience

by Amy S on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

Everything went wrong at this game. Beginning with getting into Carter Finley. Security had no organization, only a few gates open with security working double duty. Lines were crazy, ushers were no help. Food sold out early, restrooms a mess from the beginning. Then you got to your seats only to find they oversold the game. Metal bleachers with no room for anyone. Our group left right after the fist intermission. From section 1, you couldn’t see the ice. Then the largest Jumbotron had its screen messed up. Not to be forgotten we didn’t need live music during the middle of the first period. Plus sides The marching band Carolina fans were decent Local business did a great job Blankets were allowed Tailgating Raleigh’s enthusiasm for hockey.

  • Wouldn’t repeat

by Mbcanes on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

It was an experience but one I wouldn’t repeat…. I didn’t have the parking issues others did. We were in within 15 minutes of getting in line to park. Tailgating was great and fun! Actually tailgating was the best part of the whole thing. The game was a huge disappointment. Even the furthest seats in PNC were closer than most any seat at the stadium. You couldn’t hear ANYTHING going on. Couldn’t hear the announcers. Couldn’t hear the refs. Couldn’t hear the band. Couldn’t hear the performances. Nothing. The sound was awful. The jumbotron was covered in dysfunctional pixels so you couldn’t really see much of anything either! The small screens were the only place you could look to see anything going on. Overall, I think I would have gotten more out of it by seeing it on TV, but I guess it was an experience… fireworks were cool

  • parking was terrible Stadium entrance took over 1 hour

by puck on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

game was great! once you finally got thru the gate with out no security it was so so

  • Access Nightmare

by Rick on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

Access to parking and then the stadium and even from the concourse to our seats was a nightmare which took away from what was an otherwise great night of ice Hockey. There has to be a better way of getting people in and out of venues like this.

  • Awesome event… poor traffic management…

by Goalie Dad on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Some day the PNC event parking staff and Raleigh PD will learn how to manage traffic and the parking situation at large events. Been living in NC for better than 40 years and have yet to see a major event that they have managed traffic well… on top of that they had the gull to charge $40 a car for parking. All of that being said, once you got by the traffic and parking situation the event management was great! Hope the Canes do this again!

  • Logistics ruined a great game experience

by Caniac Cup Dreamer on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

Took 2.5 hours to go last 1 mile 4.5 hours before puck drop. NHL traffic control was clueless. Took 30 min to find a pre paid parking spot. No parking attendants guiding, nobody checking for pre paid parking ticket. Tailgaters taking multiple parking spots. When it came to line control to enter the stadium, no staff to manage it. Some lines took more than an hour, others took 15 min. NHL should use local staff who do this work for this arena day to day. I was so frustrated with this experience it was hard to enjoy the game.

  • NC Stadium Series game

by Wild Bill on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely fantastic event from when we arrived at 2:30 until we left at Midnight! Everything was about as good as it can get - the tailgating, the food and drinks, the Truly fan fest with the hockey shots into the dryers, lord Stanley being there—all that, then a great hockey game with plenty of action, good seats for the game( we were sitting high up and in outdoor hockey higher is better. NCSU band was entertaining , fireworks and a NC flyover.

  • Way Oversold!

by TimD on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

The venue is a dump. It’s old and dilapidated. Too many tickets were sold making parking and the venue unbearable. If that is the best North Carolina has to offer, with respect to a college football stadium, locals should be embarrassed.

  • Game 5 stars, arrival 3 stars

by Fred on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The game was incredible as usual. This is my 2nd stadium series. The problem in both circumstances was the traffic. Need to find park and ride solutions.

  • Stadium Game

by Jennie on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

It was a good opportunity to see an outdoor hockey game. But the way it was set up made it difficult see. The traffic was terrible and I was unable to get a parking space that I paid for. I will probably not attend another one.

  • SUPER event!

    by Karelli7 on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Got there early and parking was easy. Tailgating was off the chain! What a wonderful tailgating turnout! Loved that there were activities like games, music, and the Stanley Cup while waiting. Wish the crowd had ben told that multiple gates were open for the stadium. Never having been to Carter-Finley that would have been helpful. However, the line passed through steadily and I was inside with plenty of time. Locating seats was easy. The anthem presentation with the fireworks, cannon and fly over at the end was spectacular. The game was terrific!

  • Unforgettable Night

by Tabby on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Going into it, I was terrified about the parking situation and honestly, from what I can tell it was handled alright. There was a ton of really amazing things to do while we waited for the gates to open (like getting our own hockey card made!!!) The hot chocolate was AMAZING and in a super neat cup too. The highlight of the entire event had to have been the opening ceremony. I had full body chills and was completely overwhelmed with emotion during the anthem and the flyover. It was absolutely beautiful. Didn't hurt to get a win either! The only complaint I would say, is that it was really difficult to hear anyone speaking around the stadium (interviews, montages on the screen, intermission contests, etc.) I really think the NHL finally delivered something special for us canes fans overall!!

  • Logistics were yikes, event was fun

by Mark on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Everything about the logistics — parking, ride share, getting into the venue, getting concessions, etc. — were an absolute disaster. Game was fun though.

  • Was an Experience!!

by J Dubs WufPack on 2/21/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

First of all we didnt have the best seats, but we were in the building. Parking was horrible for PNC...over 2 hrs in line?? Because of the time between lots and doors opening the drunks were causing havoc from puck drop. Finally the sound system and video screen was trash. I had to go home and watch the replay to hear what went on. Love the canes and have season tix, but no derire for another outdoor game at C-F. Go Canes- Go Pack
