About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Incredible experience

by Ray Trem on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The outdoor series is one of the best games of the year. Met life is a great experience although they were ill prepared for back to back games. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. Will go to any outdoor ranger game for the rest of my life

  • Amazing!

By far the best sporting event I've ever been to. I'm a Giant's fan so I haven't been able to see many wins at MetLife, but the Rangers pulled through for me. Lets go Rangers!

the first time I've ever been to MetLife and the experience was good. Seats were great, game was awesome. Concessions were so so but overall a good experience.

The venue sucked. The Verison gate didn’t let us in till about 5 minutes before puck drop. I ended up missing the 1st 6 minutes of the game

As a Ranger fan sharing sharing this game with family was so much fun! My husband and I gave the tickets to our daughter and two grandsons. One of the boys said “best Christmas present ever”. A true game for the ages!

Overall it was a great experience. Wasn’t the result I wanted at the end of the day but it was cool. Only complaint was my team was supposed to be the home team and it felt nothing like a home game to me.

  • One of the greatest sporting events I've attended

by John on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I haven't had that much fun at a sporting event since game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

  • A great hockey game surrounded by nonsense.

by Rob on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 2 out of 5

The stadium series game needs to get back to being about hockey. Too much fluff and a weak concert delayed the game on a frigid night. Game should have started earlier so the crowd did not freeze. Also did not need all the distraction obstructing the game. The game itself was awesome and having it in an outdoor venue is a great experience. Next time, keep it to hockey.

  • great experience

by gme on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere with 70,000 other fans was exciting. We could see fine even though being up high. It was well organized and as long as you were dressed for 28-30 degree weather everything was set up to enjoy a great game. (Go Devils!) One minor point was that the bands playing between the periods were very hard to hear. We are very glad we went.

  • Jonas Brothers Were Amazing!

by CZ on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I came to this event for the Jonas Brothers & they did not disappoint! So awesome to have them play in their home state of New Jersey. They played a great set in the cold temps!

  • Best ever

It was up there with one of my daughter’s favorite birthdays ever. From the National anthem til the end of the game, everything was perfect!

  • NJ Devils @ MetLife Stadium

by KMV on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I thought the NHL did a Fantastic job with this past weekend 's Heritage Series @ MetLife Stadium. I attended the Flyers Devils game on Saturday night. There was so much activity - displays, interactive activities, the concerts , and of course the GAME. My group was appropriately dressed for the very cold weather. There were long lines for the rest rooms but we attribute that to the time needed by each individual to remove some layers of attire first. The only glitch I saw was the line for parking - payment was delayed because the processors were "freezing "up and if they had just taken cold hard cash it would have been smooth. I spoke with friends who went on Sunday to the Islander Rangers game who also had wonderful times.

  • Absolute Blast

by BsMom on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

We had an amazing time, there was so much for the kids to do and lots of space where we were parked for them to play and tailgate. The Jonas Brothers were awesome! The only thing I didn't like was the lack of signage to help out of towners get out of the stadium.

One of the best hockey games and one of the best hockey experiences that I have ever been too. Yes it was chilly but I have been to much colder and windier football games at the stadium. If you prepared yourself ahead of the game with some extra layers of hoodies & thermals like we did, then you were fine. It was a great Saturday night for outdoor hockey. We ended up getting a concert out of it before the game and in the 2nd period intermission. We had a great view from section 110. No issues seeing the puck live. Only time I looked up at the video screens were for the replays. The pre-game entertainment area that the NHL set up in the parking lot was actually a great idea especially if you come with the family. I was fortunate enough to get a stadium series jersey. I was surprised at how fast the souvenir stands ran out of merch, especially the home team, in the mid-afternoon before the stadium gates opened. Even when I got inside the stadium early once they opened the gates, already some concession stands ran out of merch for the home team. There was plenty of merch for the away team. So either most of the crowd purchased merch for the home team or the NHL did not bring enough merch to the stadium series, it’s one or the other. Aside from that, if you were fortunate enough to get a collectible stadium series jersey, hoodie, hat, whatever, it didn’t matter because it did not take away from the total experience that night. A majority of people that came were there for the game and to be a part of history. The high scoring game added to the experience and knowing it was broadcast on national tv between two countries just tells you how huge this stadium series was. With 70,000+ on the first night, & 79,000+ on the second day, this stadium series was definitely a success. Also for the record, there were certain sections of the stadium that were covered with the tarp or not used due to the Jonas Brothers concert. The next day, some of those sections were used for 2nd game. Either way, by the time the puck dropped and 1st goal scored in 30 seconds, it was a pretty packed stadium like a typical football game. Overall, this stadium series was a success by the NHL and I definitely recommend to go to at least one outdoor hockey game in your lifetime.

Devils vs Flyers at Met Life Stadium - an exciting, fun-filled activity. The three NYC area teams and Philly should play every year in this venue.

  • All American New Jersey Winter Hockey Classic

by Ed on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Great winter hockey atmosphere. The NHL did it right this year with the back to back winter classics. And those NJ Winter Classic jerseys are absolute fire.
