About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Incredible Experience

    by BE91 on 3/6/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely amazing event, 1st class all around. Really excited to have Columbus in the spotlight to host this event. Historic venue, historic night. Can't say enough good things about how well the NHL did putting on this event and making it special. Only constructive feedback I have was the delay at the start of the game due to College Basketball. For fans at home, the lead into the game did not feel as special. At the venue, with the temperatures, the delay made it harder for young fans to stay for its entirety. Just felt like the planning from the NHL's tv partner could be better. Incredible day, and proud to be a Blue Jacket & Hockey fan.

I've been to OSU football and CBJ games for many years. This was by far the best experience that I have ever had. Columbus and the NHL did this right!! Way to go!

The Stadium Series at The Shoe was by far my favorite sports experience. The facility was top notch, the game was awesome, the extras (concert, flyover, setup...) were amazing.

  • Awesome event

Fabulous experience! The NHL and Ohio State combined to put on an incredible event. Loved how they blended the Blue Jackets and Buckeye traditions. Was awesome to be a part of the 2nd largest crowd to ever see an NHL game!

  • Chillingly Exciting

by Niki on 3/5/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great all day experience with so much to do and see. Very well planned. We got pics with the Stanley Cup, had plenty of give aways. Saw O.A.R. and OSU band stadium was AMAZING! 21 Pilots and a winning game, what more could you ask for?!?! …. slightly warmer weather!!!! It was so cold and windy. But good time overall!

The stadium wasn’t impressive, The food was overpriced and didn’t get a lot for your money. Seating needs cup holders.

  • Stadium Series Hockey

by Deb on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Exceeded my expectations. I’ve wanted to go to a stadium series or Winter Classic for years and The OSU did not disappoint. Everything was well done. I wish the pep rally would have been closer to game start.

  • First class!

by Mgase on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was well planned. The honoring of Johnny G was beautiful by both teams and the fans. The only thing that could have been better was the weather but of course, we have no control over that!

  • WHAT AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!

by jcarr on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

NHL, The Ohio State University and The Columbus Blue Jackets along with the Detroit Red Wings really knew how to put on a show!!! What a great day with the family enjoying all the activities that day had to offer. Then to finish the day with an even better Hockey Game!!!

  • Very good experience

by JK on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Very good for a stadium hockey game. Hard to follow the puck since you are far away from the rink but that is expected. Security very good as was traffic control. The biggest disappointment was the 12 minute performance by 21 Pilots during the 1st period intermission. Could not understand the singer. Mainly stage affects. Columbus did a great job and should be awarded another Stadium Series game in the future.

  • Where’s the puck!

by Lucibelle on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

The set up and atmosphere was great but it was hard to follow the puck. We knew that it would be difficult to see with the seating so far back, but we thought there would be tighter shots on the jumbo tron. Possibly even more screens set up to follow the game. Overall, a great experience.

  • An Amazing event!

    by Mick G on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Attended the NHL Stadium Series in Columbus to see the Columbus Blue Jackets vs the Detroit Red Wings. It was an fantastic experience even non-hockey fans would enjoy. But if you are a hockey fan, then attending an outdoor NHL game is a must. And the one in Columbus was great, especially being at the OSU Buckeye stadium. The pre-game festivities were alot of fun too - although I wish I knew the Stanley Cup was there - missed that in the fan guide. Next time, the NHL should maybe make that a bit more known....but from the pre-game stuff, to being able to see the actual Stanley Cup to the outdoor game at OSU Buckeye stadium, an overall great event!

  • Hockey at OSU

by Lee on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great game. High intensity and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend attending one. Overall a great experience inside the shoe.

  • Could have been better

by AVWings on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

The biggest problem was the lack of proper ushering during the game. I guess the ushers were football ushers and let people walk up and down the aisles while the puck was in play. There were periods of time where it was impossible to see the actual game for several minutes. People should know better, but when they don't the ushers should take care of it. They did not. I have been to outdoor hockey games in Ann Arbor and Toronto, and people moving up and down the aisles while the puck was in play was not this much of a problem. I will not be returning to Ohio Stadium for an outdoor hockey game regardless of who is playing. I have no problem returning to a game at Michigan Stadium or Toronto.
