Including that game, there have been 37 regular-season outdoor games played to date, attended by 1,851,642 fans. The Flames-Oilers outdoor matchup will mark the seventh NHL Heritage Classic, which includes the inaugural game in Edmonton (2003), as well as games in Calgary (2011), Vancouver (2014), Winnipeg (2016), Regina (2019) and Hamilton (2022).

    Ripped off

by Heather on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

My daughter and neice were overcharged $50 for the t shirts they purchased at the game. They did not realize at the time and were not even offered a receipt at the checkout so where could they go to get money back? Seemed as if they were putting in any price at the checkout that they wanted. Very poor services for clothing that is already expensive.

    Cold

by Adr on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Yes, of course the event was cold, but the cheeseburgers were served cold. Hot chocolate was only lukewarm.

    Never Again

by Travman on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Ticket prices were outrageous. Lineups were terrible (entrance, beer, food, washrooms), even moving around the concourse was near impossible. The view from the “cheap seats” was less than desirable. The TV was smaller than the view. Having the scoreboard at only one end was inconvinient. I definitely will not attend again.

    Line queue classic

by GoSports12 on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Delays everywhere. Major line ups at every vendor and bathrooms had a massive crowd impeding the stadium walkway with no order whatsoever. Stadium entrance was the only line area which moved with any speed. Play was difficult to see including the jumbo tron. Didn't help the screen was on the north side of the pitch with nothing for the south side spectators. At least the fan's attitude was fun joyous.

    Heritage classic

by Amy on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

It was a great hockey game. Not impressed that I had to bring my small purse to the white tent because we didn’t have a car there and with a sore knee I was not happy.

    Venue needs an upgrade

by Bau on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

This place was 5,000 shy of selling out tickets. Everything had long lines including washrooms, food and drinks. Merch and some food items were sold out within the first period. The venue needs a major upgrade or at least more food/merch pop ups.

Great event, but how about a little crowd control?

by CB on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Really well done except if you wanted to walk along the concourse. Especially the end zone. The bottlenecks were obnoxious!

Once in a lifetime experience!! So glad I went!

by K-Money on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Aside from long merch lines and very, very slow concessions, everything was great. Great sightlines, awesome Nickelback performance. Excellent fan experience. My son’s only complaint? No Heritage Classic souvenir cup for our beverages. We’d have gladly paid extra for a cup keepsake.

    Good Event, Crowd Management Brutal

by Chris on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Overall good experience. The product/entertainment value was great. The venue of commonwealth seems to strained. 25 min to navigate to a bathroom and back to the seat is a little much.

    Great Game!

by Hockeylvr on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

    - Seats were great (MM2) able to see the game and felt right into it. - Details such as banners, decals on ground surrounding ice were well done - Could have used another screen , as the one by us was harder to see - wish there was more merchandise available. Commonwealth is difficult to get to and by the time we went to the booth the toques were all sold out.

    Poor Preparation for Food/Beverage

by Luke on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Game itself was great. Very well organized. Liked Nickelback, jets after anthem, and on-ice speakers se we could hear the game better. I understand that the venue was extremely packed and expected there to be huge crowds. The problem was there seemed to be no vendors roaming on the concourse or selling in the stands. Every lineup was 45 mins long. When holding a game over dinner hour they should have thousands of hotdogs ready and vendors walking around selling them. Same goes with beer. Could not find one anywhere and it was cash only! How hard is it to have 10 guys roaming around with beer, hotdogs, and a little tap machine. Venue probably lost out on millions in revenue because of this!

    Brutal Venue

by Kelly on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Heritage Classic event itself was alright. Venue (Commonwealth Stadium) was horrific. Line ups for bathrooms, food, drink, concourse, etc made for a horrible experience overall. Will never attend another event of any type at that Stadium EVER!

A little disappointed in the Heritage Classic

by Oilers4ever on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

There should of been an alumni game, a little more entertainment considering this was suppose to be a classic.

    Awesome Event - Improvements

by ThemightyJeffbo on 11/1/23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Loved the venue. Alit of hard work put in to it. Only thing that would have helped was for folks like me sitting in North end. The big screen was directly behind and had to continually turn around to see closeup of players and highlights. A few big screens between the seats and the rink would have made the day perfect. Awesone job overall. Had a ball.
