Great game, but issues with venue and organization of events
by ASB on 11/5/25Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5Always a great time to watch two nations battle it out against each other. The match was good, some stop and go, but overall not too bad.
Tailgating was great.
However, soldier Field in organization of the events was pretty poor. First, the wrong song started playing just before New Zealand’s national anthem. There was no mic on the ref, so it was hard to hear what each penalty was. There was an announcer of sorts that sometimes called things out, but it wasn’t consistent and it was only really for line outs occasionally.
The view was great, but the field looked a little rough. There were football identifiers on the field, and it wasn’t looking like a healthy pitch.
The scoreboard also only had a little graphic and the score, it did not do any replays or live feed/close-ups that you might expect in a large venue like this. I’m sure they can do it for football so they should’ve been able to do it for rugby.
