New York Liberty History
The New York Liberty are one of three active founding franchises in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Liberty have made six WNBA Finals appearances, in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2023 and 2024, and topped the Eastern Conference seven times. In 2023, the team captured the in-season Commissioner's Cup behind a Finals MVP performance by Jonquel Jones, and later, Breanna Stewart became the first Liberty player to win the WNBA Most Valuable Player award. New York returned to the Commissioner’s Cup Final in 2024, but fell to the Minnesota Lynx. The two teams met again in the 2024 WNBA Finals, where the Liberty claimed their first title. Jones was named the series MVP, and after the season, Stewart was selected to the All-WNBA First Team while Jones and Sabrina Ionescu made the All-WNBA Second Team.

Barclays Center is the downtown Brooklyn home of the New York Liberty. Since hosting the team’s homecoming game in 2021, Barclays Center has housed plenty of playoff action for the Liberty, including two WNBA Finals games in 2023 and three in their 2024 championship series. The downtown Brooklyn digs, which the Liberty share with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, can house 17,732 at capacity. Led by New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant, home games at Barclays Center will leave fans quaking with excitement.

I thought that the Liberty game was amazing!! Court side tickets were everything that I expected. I loved how children were incorporated into the event for example: all the kids received a free t-shirt, the mascots were very attentive and made sure that the children received souveniers! It was a perfect experience!
I think that the WNBA is so, so, so, so underestimated. These ladies have just as much talent and heart as the men. They are amazing and the game was AWESOME. I was literally feet from my favorite player at times. My daughter and I had a blast.
It was a very competitive and exciting game. Though the Liberty lost it was close down to the wire.

The New York Liberty at Madison Square Garden is a wonderful sports experience for a family, especially one with girls. It's an exciting atmosphere, great seats are affordable, and there is lots to keep young people entertained the entire time. Highly recommended!

the game was close, it was exciting. my 1 complaint is, it was advertised that kids(since it was kids day) could get a free hotdog, chips and a soda. when we got there nobody knew what i was talking about. then 1 man said oh yeah i think you need a coupon. what coupon?

On holiday from Scotland took in this game with my son and daughter.we all really enjoyed this close and hard fought game.We thought that the stadium was fantastic with a great view and fantastic facilities.
Everything well organized in Madison Square Garden - very engaged Liberty team winning with 3 points difference. I was very excited and would go back for sure.

The basketball skill level is amazing. Madison Square Garden sets the stage for a perfect sports night. The music, half-time performance and the cheerleaders were great. I would recommend this event to anyone that enjoys athletics.
We decided to see this game to 'experience' Madison Square Garden while in NY. We had pretty low expectations, but actually had such a brilliant time. The atmosphere was fantastic and the game was edge-of-the-seat. Definitely recommended!
It was our first time into the Madison. We loved the show, and also the sport. For our next travel to NYC, we are thinking to buy two or three tickets, to enjoy better all things happened: the pet, the dancing, the songs, the public...
It was a good game to go to because of where I was sitting which was pretty close to the court and I was able to see a few celebrities up close.
