Amazing bands, artists and artistry - loved the laid back atmosphere and love of music. Any and all genres! Rode bikes to the JF from the Quarter and that was a Blast! Great music all over the city day and night - Love Nawlins!! :-)
The prices for everything was outrageous!! Starting with the great food, $15 for a po-boy, $60 for a T-Shirt and $3 for water. The same water is sole just outside the gate for $1 ??? The artist and craftsman's wares prices were Just outrageous... The music was great.. the gate price was in line with the music offered. As long as you go just for the music you can’t go wrong..
Once again an amazing experience. Great music, food and friends(new and old). If you have never been, you should put it on your bucket list.
The Jazz Fest Facebook Event Calendar had the Chris Stapelton concert starting @ 7pm ending @ 10pm., May 3rd. We arrived @ 6pm and figured we had enough time to grab a bite before walking to the stage. Arrived at the Acura Stage @ 6:40. Got to here Chris Stapelton’s last song thinking it was his first we were shocked when he said thanks for coming, goodnight! First time at Jazz Fest. First Chris Stapelton concert. 2 $85 tickets. The look on our face when everyone headed to the exit gate, PRICELESS!! Never again!!
First time going to jazz fest in about 20 years. It did not disappoint. We saw, Aaron Neville, Diana Ross and Pitbull. We tried to see Dave Matthews but it was so packed you could not even get close enough around the corner to even see the big screen. It was fine though since Ive seen him many times. Instead we walked around and looked at all the vendors, grabbed some wine and bought our Jazz Fest t-shirts. The bus ride to and from was extremely efficient. Def the way to go getting to and from the fairgounds. I know Jazz Fest is not as big as Voodoo Fest but I think City Park as the location would be a much better venue. Regardless, It was a great time and we are ready for next year!
You can't beat Jazz Fest. I've been going regularly since 1990 and it never disappoints. Too crowded? Definitely. I do wish there was some sort of limit on tickets sold for a given day but that is just part of the festival experience. This one is not to be missed!
Best music festival ever! Best food and people! Love New Orleans ❤️
The whole issue with tickets for May 2 was a major disappointment for us. We booked accommodations months ahead and then couldn’t get tickets for May 2. Will make different plans for next year as a result. Music was wonderful, however, perhaps some more jazz players would be welcome, I.e. Curtis Fuller, Benny Golson, Eric Alexander, Mike LeDonne, etc, etc.
Great fun!Stapleton and DMB delivered bigtime!Thank you New Orleans!
Awesome!! Will definitely do it again. First time going. Nice people awesome atmosphere. Maze and Chaka were fantastic!
Music was great, food vendors awesome as usual. But the overall experience has gone down, as the ticket sales are unlimited, and the crowds are getting so large. May be my last year after many years of going to Fest.
Jazz Fest is the Mardi Gras of Music. 2 solid weeks of Festival shows for every taste and out of this world late night shows in every venue. By all means Geaux!
JazzFest is truly amazing, it’s filled with all kinds of music, great New Orleans food, happy people celebrating. There’s no other festival like it.
Going to New Orleans is always an adventure. It's a combination of many opposing forces. Amazing yet dirty, hot yet cool, fun yet pricey. The food, the people and the architecture are always interesting to take in. Jazz Fest is the absolute show case of Cajun culture and great music. The food is the best, the music intoxicating, the atmosphere celebratory. At the same time, the grounds are dirty and the neighborhood it's located in requires parking and walking through places you would never otherwise go. The number of panhandlers gets a little old. It was definitely worth going for the 50 anniversary. I had not been in 20 years and it may be another 20 before I go back.
It was a grand event that was good for the soul and brain!
Best FESTIVAL in USA!! Food, music, crafts & intl cultural Experience combined!!!
Wow. What an experience to spend the whole day just listening to music of all kinds and eating the great food of New Orleans. My boyfriend and i are looking forward to next year.
First time in NOLA and Jazzfest where sunny skies and low humidity put you in the best mood. Did not arrive til 2 as large crowds and mardigras attitude gave this ultimate festival feel. Little Feet was the first band to get our jam going, followed by Jimmy Buffet and his Coral Reefer band kicked-A with an encore of Stones "you cant always get what you want"--assume tribute to Jagger out of commission. Trombone Shorty etal was also fantastic. Unfortunately we had to cut shorty for John Fogerty on the opposite side of the park, but worth splitting the two big showcases to get full experience. Even heard a little Buddy Guy, Mavericks on the way. Food stands rocked as well tasting the fried oyster po boy, Vietnamese beef kabob, grilled shrimp bowl, and shrimp spring rolls. Leaving the festival we got 2for1 serving of broiled pecan catfish--top rate! We will be back, but it will be hard to duplicate this year's event.
This was our second time at Jazz Fest. What a great time it is! The music, the festival atmosphere, and the amazing food. It rained Saturday morning, but was great in the afternoon. Even the transportation worked well. It is a such a fun time! Go if you get the chance!
