    Simon & Garfunkle

Poor Art had no voice but I loved seeing them and appreciated the fact that Art did not cancel. All of the music on Sat. was really good.

Jazz Fest Good - Simon and Garfunkel - Bad

by JohnF4 on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

The jazzfest was great. Cowboy Mouth was the highlight for me. Lot's of great jazz, blues and other music. Simon and Garfunkel were disappointing. You could barely hear them and that was because they had no voices. Simon was better than Garfunkel however, they shoiuld not have appeared here. They did get a great welcoming however, that was because they are so well known and the songs are fondly remembered. Unlike James Taylor last year, they don't sing very well anymore.

    Anita Baker

by bayoucutie on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

My boyfriend and I love Anita Baker and were so excited that we could see her in person. However her performance at Jazz Fest left a lot to be desired. Most of her time was spent singing(talking)to the set up crew about the sound. It wound up being so loud that our ears were hurting. Some of our friends had to leave because of the this. She was unprepared for this concert as sometimes she had to ask the band what song are we doing next. Overall the Jazz Fest was was wonderful. To see so many gifted musicians in one venue is such a treat.

Simon & Garfunkel were so good!

by SCDoxieMom on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Talk about memories with Simon & Garfunkel, just good music and good memories. The only thing about the mud - seems like some straw coud have been laid down in front of the food stands to help out.

by NOLAlove on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

I have a hard time believing that there are many other musical experiences in the world that could top this.

Beyond amazing. An incredible array of talent---known and not-- in a lovely venue (NO.) Great local food; great music; great (mostly great) weather... what more could anyone want?

    The Jazzfest experience

by datallmon on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Great music, large crowds, rude people. For those of us sitting, we don't understand those people who just walk up and stand in front of us. Specially when there is a whole standing group in the front. Do they leave their manners at the gate?

James Rivers never fails to entertain

by bgt1 on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Weather was awful but the music was awesome. Frankie Ford has not weathered well, but his voice is considerably strong for his age.

    Oh - the mud!!

by Dede56 on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Saturday was the best!! I've been to Jazz Fest several times in the past - but each time gets better and better! Wasn't too hot since it was overcast and of course the rain held off! The mud was unbelievable - worse that I've ever seen it!!! Anyway - my favorite? COWBOY MOUTH!!! I originally went for Simon & Garfunkle (a group from my college days!) and they were good. Better Than Ezra is always amazing and we heard some really good blues! (Not sure about the names here) Going back next weekend - JEFF BECK!!

    Drake was unforgettable!!!

by KChemE on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

The Jazz Fest was great as usual. Ledisi and Drake put on great shows. The food was good and rich as it is every year. We had on our rubber boots and were prepared for the mud. Aside from the people that decided to play in the mud, everything was AWESOME!!

    Lionel saved the day

by bluedesert1001 on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

On the performers, they did a great job of entertaining the audiences and I feel nothing short of giving their best effort. I felt the event host could have done better job of getting more tents out given the day I went was wrecked by a thunderstorm

Levon Helm is the man! Incrdedible performance

by Anonymous on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Maybe the best Jazz Fest performance I have seen. Great guests, incredible musicians and Levon Helm's spirit and attitude are wonderful; he was more excited than the crowd or any of the other musicians.

    We had a good time.

by blakdimon on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

It was a very good experience. 5 dollars for a beer will bring us back. Other places its like 9 dollars and I don't buy the beer and would not want to go back. This event had alot more port o lets than Voo Doo Fest had. Much better, Less time wait. The parking was not good but nothing else could be done. Consession was good. The top bands was all at the same time and should have been spaced apart. Tab should have been at 2 pm. and Rockin Doopsie 3:30 pm and Simon and Garfunkel at the 5:15 as scheduled. Then I would have been there longer. The staff was very good and helped everyone leave safely. Looking forward to next weekend. See ya'll there Who Dat Dean and Mary

    Great Food and Music

by shojin on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

Honestly I'm not a big jazz fan nor the type to go to music concerts, this was a something to do while in New Orleans for a short vacation. I must say I had a lot of fun, mainly eating and just chilling while the bands play. With crawfish bread in one hand and a beer in the other, and with the anticipation of having a mango freeze later, I was a happy camper. I was probably at the event for less than 3 hours before the rain came pouring down. It definitely sucked but the people around us, made it so much more worth it. The crowd at the jazz fest are very nice and welcoming, though it could just be the southern hospitality.

Simon & G'Funk are as amazing as I had imagined.

by AshleyHeartsSimon on 4/26/10New Orleans Fair Grounds - New Orleans

I have been waiting a very long time to see my all-time favorite artist, Paul Simon, and this concert lived up to my expectations. I am more in love with him now than I have ever been. It was sad to hear Garfunkel's voice going, but that happens - he still sounded fine. It was great to see Simon so supportive of Garfunkel during a difficult time. It was fun standing in the mud, too! I felt very Woodstock-wanna-be.

Incredible talent gathered in a "home town" atmosphere. Music for everyone with 11 stages going at once covering a range of music. A music lovers delight.
