  • Wonderful

by Mtuck on 12/23/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed a perfect evening with my daughters, who for the first time were exposed to the theater. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the ballet and are looking forward to our next event.

  • Amazing Performance

by nini on 12/18/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was amazing!! Growing up I wanted to be a dancer, but due to it costing too much money, I never got the chance to do it. This made little me so happy, being able to see people do something I really wanted to do. If your kid or even you as an adult wanted to be a dancer growing up, definitely go see the nutcracker!

  • Enjoyable

by Becky on 12/18/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

Not the highest flying performances, but certainly a heartfelt and enjoyable production.

  • Excellent ballet company

by Alicia on 12/17/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful performances. Professional, well executed. If I may critique one thing, it is not the ballet company with its talented artists nor the theater and its professional staff. It’s the attendees in the audience. A reminder that we’re enjoying a professional ballet in a theater, not a sports event at the stadium. Climbing over seats, placing feet on the chair headrests in front, not waiting for an opportune moment to leave and enter the seats, and so on is inappropriate.

  • Compelling

by Blue on 11/18/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I haven’t been to a ballet in quite some time but I won’t wait that long again after seeing this one!!! Tremendous tremendous talent from the first moment to the last. Simple exquisite. I was blown away. What a night.

  • It was absolutely great

by Ts on 11/3/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The stage and props were great, the cast was exceptional. Great show to see for Halloween.

  • A laid back experience

by Hammi on 11/3/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

The ballet was contemporary, interpretive and fun. The facility was beautiful and the atmosphere very inviting. All of the staff were, friendly, polite and helpful. The audience were excited and in a roar during the entire performance. Intermission was playful and interactive. There was a lot of crowd participation during and intermission, of course. My only nitpick was the constant light from the ushers escorting late patrons to their seats. I was raised in the era of no late entry. It does impact the ambiance for the audience, to varying degrees...and men wearing hats while seated and watching the performance. Again, nitpicks. We had a good time and will return anon!

  • Awesome!

by Trajikrabit on 11/3/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I went into this ballet expecting one thing and got a totally different thing, but better! I loved that there was a mix of music genres used throughout the performance and that the end was unexpected. The dancers were amazing and I loved that I was so close, I could hear their shoes and feet on the stage. The Orpheum is a gorgeous theater and well-suited for such an awesome performance. I highly recommend seeing this amazing rendition of the retelling of Dracula.

I haven’t been to a ballet in many years, but this was an amazingly performed and well choreographed production! I was honestly super surprised at how much I enjoyed it and will def be back again sooner rather than later.

  • Dracula ballet

    by Tribe8fan on 10/30/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Great dancers. Nearby parking. Guests in costume made the crowd fun to watch.

  • Dracula...the Spooky Ballet

by CDF on 10/30/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The ballet was not at all what I was expecting. It was traditional yet contemporary. The props were minimal which truly allowed you to focus on the performance. We very much enjoyed the production.

  • Dracula for the win!

by NOLA Native on 5/15/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Why didn't someone think of this sooner?!! Told the story, Van Helsing, Harpies, and of course the evil lord himself!! With New Orleans as a Halloween destination, I can see this ballet becoming an anticipated favorite.

  • So fun!

This was great, I thought the choice of songs was very funny.

  • Unbelievable!!

by Ballet Mama on 5/15/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the most amazing works of art!! Oliver’s direction and choreography was brilliant! The dancers were beautiful and danced with joy… but played the dark roles incredibly too! Please do this ballet again! We didn’t want it to end!!! Everything NOBT does is top notch and wonderful! They are such an asset to New Orleans and the entire Southeast! Bravo, NOBT, on another beautiful and outstanding performance!

  • Riveting

by Mollie Kelly on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

NOBT’s performance of the original ballet Dracula was riveting. The choreography, music & the dancers were all perfection. If they dance this ballet again do not miss it.

  • Exciting

by Lydia on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Disclaimer: this is the first ballet show ive ever seen. But I am a huge fan of Bram Stoker's Dracula! It was the first book I read straight through. The ballet group was spectacular in recreating the story! The action, the grace, the subtle facial changes made the performance amazing. I laughed, I blushed... the performer portraying Dracula captured his menace and his inner struggle superbly. Lucy and Mina portrayed elegantly their love for each other. Lucy's suitors were so entertaining as they vied for her hand! And Renfield's insanity was perfect! I loved it and I hope the entire group enjoyed performing it! Thank you for an amazing introduction in storytelling with no words but with awesome body language!

  • An amazing production!

by KTNola on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I was so impressed and blown away by the Dracula production. The choreography was stunning and innovative and interesting and the dancers were beautiful and so talented! I hope they will stage it again because it deserves to be seen by many others!

  • Lacked cohesion

by Mom on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 2 out of 5

My Daughter & I left after the first set. The music etc of each piece just didn’t flow. Each set seemed too different to blend together.

  • Dracula did NOT suck.

by CC on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5
