New Jersey Devils History
The New Jersey Devils were born in 1982, the third incarnation of a franchise that began as the Kansas City Scouts (1974-76) before spending six years in Denver as the Colorado Rockies. The arrival of president/general manager Lou Lamoriello in 1987 started the franchise's rise to the NHL elite. The Devils made the playoffs in 21 of the next 24 seasons, including five trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
The Devils made it as far as the conference finals in the 1987-1988 and 1993-1994 seasons, preparing them for their historic run the following year in which they won their first Stanley Cup Championship, sweeping the Detroit Red Wings.
The Devils returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2000, dispatching the Dallas Stars in six games on an iconic double-overtime Cup-clinching goal by Jason Arnott. The next season, as the best offensive team in the NHL, they returned to the Final.
The Devils' stretch of dominance was far from over, though. They won their third Stanley Cup Championship in 2003, spoiling the Anaheim Ducks’ first-ever playoff run with a Game 7 shutout orchestrated by Martin Brodeur. To date, the club has won three Stanley Cup Championships and five Eastern Conference Championships.
In 2022, the Devils returned to the second round of the playoffs—their first time since 2011. Led by young stars Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, the Devils defeated their long-time rivals the New York Rangers in the first round, before losing their next series to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Awesome, as always. The atmosphere was great......
The game was for a great cause! This was my first year going and I will go again anytime they have another game!
Great to see so many help out a wonderful hockey player and family
A really great event, we had a fantastic time! It was moving, entertaining, and fun! We loved seeing some of our favorite former NHLers, loved the complimentary tickets to a future Devils and Yankees game, and loved the hospitality of The Rock!! Thank you!!
Great value For a great cause. Mikey strong! Can't beat boomer and carton
Sat four rows behind goalie. Action was great. Nice to see the stars so close. Arena is clean and safe. Is in and out parking. Had dinner at redds German bar. Walk up ordering so good to go to prior to the game.
This was my daughter and I first Devils game and we are 100% Devils fans!! It was fantastic and an amazing experience!! We will be back to cheer NJ Devils on again!!
Everything was good. You are able to see the game and the players. I would sit here again.
So the Devils did lose during this game which sucked but going to the actual game in person is always a lot of fun and much better than just watching the game on television.
I was lucky enough to pick a game where there was a fan fest event outside of the Prudential Center. It had such great activities for the kids, and for the ones who love hockey you were able to do a virtual reality ride of being on a zamboni, as well as take a picture with THE stanley cup! I was in awe and it made the game that much more exciting to go to. I had great seats and everyone there(the fans&employees) made it such a great experience.
Game was fine (Devils rebuilding), concession lines were quick and easy as was team store. Just didn't really see a lot of seat ushers until late in the game, to keep people from sitting in the aisles or getting up during play.
Good team. Great fans. All of the staff were friendly and had a smile on their face
Great to watch a real NHL game, good atmosphere, only the food and drinks are expensive
Quite a different atmosphere than in games in Europe. Good and bad. Somehow it seemed that other things but the game were more interesting to many.
We had a great night at the Devils-Canadiens game. The game heated up in the third period and went to OT, with the Habs scoring a PP goal to win it. It was my great nephew's first live hockey game and he was over the moon!
Overall a very enjoyable event!! Liked the start time of 5 o'clock.
The only thing that prevent the experience from being 5 stars was the fact that the venue couldn't accommodate the ugly weather swiftly. Freezing rain should have had the doors open before 11AM, but that's no big deal. The game itself was good...for 1 period, then the Sharks did the damage in the 2nd. Food was good. Any seat at Prudential, even the nosebleeds have a nice view. Will definitely be back.
Had a great time at the NJ Devils Game. Both food and friends were perfect.
sharks won nothing better does not get any better then that
Great venue, easy to get to from Manhattan. Team were good as was the match. It was ashame it wasn't busier. If you are used to the UK matches be prepared for less flow in the game as the cleaners are on the ice every 2 minutes seemingly to ensure it is of good quality! Food and drink incredibly expensive compared to UK so eat before you go!
