    Perfection!

by Vick2964 on 3/7/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I was lucky to get a ticket at the last minute for the 58th Anniversary performance of this Company, which honored their Director. It was a mixed and condensed version of "Carmen" and "Romeo & Juliet." I was amazed as to how flawless the dancers were and the pas de deux of Romeo & Juliet was one of the most beautifully I've ever seen and was so full of emotion that I actually cried and I've seen this ballet performed by many companies and this one was my favorite. The Ballerina was incredibly skilled in all areas. I look forward to seeing them again!

    Great kid friendly performance!

by ELF222 on 12/7/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

We took two 6 year olds, a 7 year old and a 10 year old to see the Nutcracker. I thought it was a great production. They had some cool special effects that kept the kids engaged (strobe lights, smoke) and it's a good length (maybe 1 hour 45 minutes, with an intermission) It's a fairly small company. The second act dragged a bit -- there was a couple dressed in purple that did like 4 dances in a row -- every time you clapped and thought it you'd see someone new they came out again -- that was ridiculous. Otherwise I'd rate it 5 stars. I mean, it's not the NYC Ballet but it's also 1/3 the price and for that you are getting a really great production. I would return next year. SEATS: Also, I bought tickets online and chose seats in rows 3&4. When we arrived, we were given seats in rows 1&2. Sitting in row 1-2 for a ballet is not ideal because you can't really see the dancers feet. Disappointing and not really sure why the online map didn't match the theater.

    Nutcracker Ballet

by GrandmaandGrandaughter on 12/7/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

This is the third year that I have taken my granddaughter to see this performance. It was wonderful! This show has become our annual tradition. I love being able to take her to something like this so close to home. Although we did miss the stars on the ceiling above the stage before the show began this year. We will be there next year!

    Enjoyable evening at the ballet

by Nemmie on 4/30/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Quality ballet at an affordable price and without the hassle of traveling to NYC. The costumes and scenery were beautiful - kudos to Paul H. McRae. Choreography was phenomenal - we were applauding often during the Gypsy Camp and Tavern scenes. Konstantin Kolotov as Sancho Panza and Leonid Flegmatov as Gamache made the performance -- who knew ballet could be so funny?!

    Nicely done

by Sandybonnick on 4/27/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

The ballet was nicely done and just the right length to keep a child's attention. I was a little disappointed though with the person narrating the ballet. Her voice was sometimes too low and therefore I missed somethings said in the narration.

I absolutely love Nutcracker. NJ Ballet amazing!

by Jeannie77 on 12/26/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I just love The Nutcracker. We've made it a tradition to see it at Bergen PAC the past 5 years or so. We all love it so!! The music plays in my mind for weeks after, as well as the dance.

    nice venue for children

by Anonymous on 12/10/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

This was a very child friendly performance. I took three grandchildren ( four adults as well ) and they were fascinated with the dancing and costumes. The actors/ dancers were all good to excellent and the scenery was fairly well done.. The only part that seemed a bit overlong for the younger children were the final dance sequences.

    Wonderful First Ballet

by MamaBear51 on 12/9/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

This was my grand daughter's first ballet. She has been taking dance for 8 years. It was an amazing show. The dancers and costumes were incredible. Having her picture taken with some of the dancers was an unforgettable experience for her. We are already planning on going to another ballet in the Spring!

    The Nutcracker was magical

by Tmieses on 12/8/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

This production was beautiful. It was colorful, emotional, and the dancers are exceptional.

by Jazztune on 12/8/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

The main characters, Clara and the Nutcracker were very wobbly on their feet and their jumps were especially unsteady. The cast of ballet dancers were visually stunning but not a cohesive, well-rehearsed group. The entire performance did have a great energy but overall it was a letdown and not worth the ticket price.

    Sleeping Beauty was amazing!!!

by Jeannie77 on 5/5/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. NJ Ballet never disappoints. Beautiful dancing, costumes, etc. The only thing I would change is the scene where the Prince awakens Sleeping Beauty with a kiss. You couldn't see their faces, and it was so quick it was like an afterthought. Otherwise, it was spectacular!!

    DonQ! Didn't disappoint! Great night!

by Katiebopper on 4/28/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

NJBallet was exceptional tonight in Don Q! From the costuming to the staging they did a beautiful job. Why fight NY city traffic and overpriced parking when you can enjoy a night out at the ballet right here in New Jersey!

    Recommended with Reservations

by EagerToLike on 4/28/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I applaud the dancers for their skill and energy. In that respect, this is a professional, not an amateur, company. More evidence of personality and acting would've brought my recommendation up a notch. "Don Quixote" is a story ballet. Unfortunately, this production is a misnomer. Without the program synopsis, you wouldn't get a clue to who the errant knight is or what he's about.

    Amazing

by Rdginx on 4/23/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I completely enjoyed this event!!!! Romeo and Juliet was amazing, but the scene from Macbeth was astounding. The performance by the 3-witches simply blew me away. Their costumes were amazing. The young man who played Macbeth was also awesome. Great, great, great performance!!!

Put this beauty to sleep, please

by Gladdad67 on 4/22/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

With the exception of the final act, very little actual ballet. Having a narrator describe what's going on text away from the whole purpose of dance The choice of sleeping beauty seem to lack the range and residents needed for the part Her role seem limited to doing twirls as her male companion kept her up straight Overall I feel my money was wasted That is not to say the company does not contain talent. There were many individuals with parts who were obviously excellent and accomplished ballet dancers.

    Spectacular music and dancing!

by Sooniecrystal on 4/22/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I took my 5 yr old granddaughter. Even she, had to say that the story of the childhood years was left out. "They skipped some parts" she said. Other than that, the dancers were spectacular, and of course the music is wonderful.
