Venue needs an overhaul. Staff was very diligent about keeping patrons masked, much appreciated. Many children were brought to performance and were quite noisy. I wish staff would remind parents that a noisy child should be removed from theater. At best, performance was worth the $39 ticket.
What a wonderful performance. This is our third year seeing this. It's become a holiday tradition with my mom and daughter. This year was by far the best performance I've seen. Amazing dancers and I felt safe since everyone was masked.
Awesome experience in the the theater! Safety protocols well in place, felt very comfortable. She was excellent, incredible value for the ticket price! Only problem (which has been a problem since starting to come to Bergen PAC) is the lack of parking. Had to park about 1/2 mile from venue & cross multiple streets with my wife & daughter.
Theater is a bit rundown and music for the show was pre-recorded. Props were rundown as well. Those in the show did an excellent job though.
I really loved it it was a great experience will watch it again . took my grandaugtherr and she was mesmerized.
The quality of NJ Ballet's production of the Nutcracker is unsurpassed in the entire region. A wonderful show!
It was a great show. My mother and I enjoyed it very much.
This year’s Nutcracker Ballet performance was the 5th performance I’ve attended with my granddaughter. It was an outstanding performance - between the dancers, costumes and sets it was definitely first rate!! No need to go into New York City when we have such incredible performances right at our doorstep!!
The performers did an outstanding job - each and everyone of them gave it their all. However, the second half of the show was more like a dance recital then a performance of the Nutcracker itself. We have seen performances in several different venues and the shows were better overall. While this performance had many fantastic performers/dancers the overall show was not as good as what was expected.
First time with my granddaughter. She loved it. It was so nicely done. Amazing.
I couldn't believe that I was entertained for a $50 ticket like I was entertained at Lincoln Center! These dancers were so professional and precise.Whoever produced and choreographed this, was an ace at Their job. Thank you for putting on such a wonderful show!
We go every year to see The Nutcracker at BergenPAC. We always love it! It's slightly different every year and is always fantastic!!
We attended the 4:30 performance on Saturday at the Bergen PAC. The show was very enjoyable with colorful sets and elaborate costumes. The NJ Ballet Company is a very talented group! Attending this ballet is a Christmas family tradition for us. We're already thinking about next year. (Speaking of next year, I will buy my tickets directly from Bergen PAC. I had a great deal of difficulty getting my tickets from Ticketmaster. I dealt with three different reps to arrange ticket delivery. The mailing date kept getting delayed. I eventually decided to get my tickets at the box office a few days before the show.)
I loved it!! Great talent, great costumes! I’ve seen the Nutcracker at other venues, but this one was the best one.
Absolutely loved this production! We've seen it many times at Lincoln Center, which is my litmus Nutcracker test, but decided to take our 9 year old granddaughter to our local Bergen PAC. It was a terrific - the sets, the dancers, even the canned music didn't take away from the experience. There were many children present, and I couldn't help but think what a great introduction to ballet it was for them!
It is amazing play that I recommend to watch New Jersey Ballet Presents Giselle. And the Bergen Performing Arts Center is very nice, too
I was lucky to get a ticket at the last minute for the 58th Anniversary performance of this Company, which honored their Director. It was a mixed and condensed version of "Carmen" and "Romeo & Juliet." I was amazed as to how flawless the dancers were and the pas de deux of Romeo & Juliet was one of the most beautifully I've ever seen and was so full of emotion that I actually cried and I've seen this ballet performed by many companies and this one was my favorite. The Ballerina was incredibly skilled in all areas. I look forward to seeing them again!
Wonderful show. All seats are great. Dancers and costumes were unforgettable. Highly recommend. Easy to find parking, low, affordable prices and a great time.
We took two 6 year olds, a 7 year old and a 10 year old to see the Nutcracker. I thought it was a great production. They had some cool special effects that kept the kids engaged (strobe lights, smoke) and it's a good length (maybe 1 hour 45 minutes, with an intermission) It's a fairly small company. The second act dragged a bit -- there was a couple dressed in purple that did like 4 dances in a row -- every time you clapped and thought it you'd see someone new they came out again -- that was ridiculous. Otherwise I'd rate it 5 stars. I mean, it's not the NYC Ballet but it's also 1/3 the price and for that you are getting a really great production. I would return next year. SEATS: Also, I bought tickets online and chose seats in rows 3&4. When we arrived, we were given seats in rows 1&2. Sitting in row 1-2 for a ballet is not ideal because you can't really see the dancers feet. Disappointing and not really sure why the online map didn't match the theater.
