About

Initially formed in Joplin, Missouri, in 2007, the indie rock band, Never Shout Never, recently returned after a brief musical hiatus with an impressive concert appearance at the 2013 Warped Tour. Although the Warped Tour performance was mostly marked by an effort at promoting both peace and patriotism, it also featured the classic heavy percussion and impressive guitar sequences that have so successfully sold tickets during past tours. The members of Never Shout Never were eager to get back on the road, but the main purpose of their Warped Tour appearance was to promote "Sunflower," a recent full-length album released in July 2013.

Never Shout Never may currently attract vast audiences, but the band's beginnings were fairly humble in nature. Lead singer Christofer Drew Ingle first adopted the moniker as a teenager in Joplin. He first received public recognition for his music through MySpace, with virtual fans eventually convincing him to release "The Yippee" EP in 2008. He was quickly joined by his touring band members, Hayden Kaiser and Taylor McFee, both of whom remain a part of Never Shout Never to this day. The group has released several significant EPs and albums, although their most significant achievement may be aiding in the post-tornado Joplin relief effort through the release of their single, "Time Travel." More recently, the band released the full-length album, "Indigo," in 2012, followed by "Sunflower" in 2013. The band has also made a point of getting in on the holiday music frenzy, releasing a snazzy music video for "Under The Mistletoe," as well as a popular Christmas EP.

    Never Shout Never was wonderful

by Aloof on 10/22/10Wonder Ballroom - Portland

The show started with a singer named Carter Hulsey that had a wonderful sound. I recommended him to my friends and family. Then the second band came on not so great. The Maine played but was very hard to here. Never Shout Never came on and the sound was incredible. The actual sound system was not so good but the performance was sound. I have been to many shows with and without my daughter and the ranked up there as one of my favorites.

    A Great night!

by GreatKittyCat on 10/22/10Wonder Ballroom - Portland

Christofer Drew was amazing and funny! It was really crowded and everyone was pushing and shoving to get to the very front, I only wished i knew you could buy VIP passes so that you get to meet christofer... that would have been amazing... OTHERWHYS, The bands leading up to his performance were really good! It was fun how christofer was using his good sense of humor and his amazing voice to spread word of peace and using the opertunity to help stop fur production. after his first few songs, everyone stopped shoving and everyone was just amazed and listening to his music. it was my very first concert, and i will never forget it! Next time ill buy VIP passes ;P

Up first: Ace Enders' band I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business. he is one of the most talented people in my opinion, but you can't seem to get the full effect in a crowd who doesn't have a clue who they are watching. I simply reccommend buying his stuff. Moving on to The Maine. Awesome band who just released their sophmore album in July I believe, but their set was minimized to a wimpy six or so songs. Disappointing to say the least. I must say I am on the same page as their singer John: why bother getting dressed to play this short of a set, I think I'll play in my robe. Now the moment the crowd has been waiting for: Nevershoutnever. If you don't mind overly excited and screeching teen girls, smoking on stage, and being drenched by the Showbox staff, this show was for you! His set was great. His songs are catchy and he sings them well. What I enjoyed watching was how much his bass player really loved the nevershoutnever songs. He was really groving. Overall it was a great group of musically gifted men. Having seen all of them play before, I think it's safe to say this was not top notch performance but still as good as ever. I just wish we could have seen more of The Maine; after all, the show was over by 10.

    NSN was AWESOME!

by joyzeemom on 10/21/10Showbox at the Market - Seattle

So was the MAINE! I am almost 40 and brought my 14 yr old & 10 yr old & I LOVED it as much as them! It's a standing room only, we were glad to find a spot where us short people could see over the crowd in front of us. NSN needs to find bigger venues, it was packed!

    AP Tour 2010 was AMAZING!

by KimmieJean on 5/10/10Newport Music Hall - Columbus

I am a mother, from Cincinnati, OH, who took my daughter and 2 of her friends to see the show. I knew 2 of the bands and their music; the other 3, I wasn't very familiar with, adn they turned out to be fabulous! The venue was beautiful, very friendly to kids and adults alike! I hung out in the "adult" section near the bar...we all had so much fun watching our kids have fun! There is an outdoor area where the band members exited the stage, and I have to tell you, I've been an avid concert-goer for over 25 years and these younger bands are SO wonderful with their fans! They had no problem talking to the kids waiting to meet them, sign autographs, pose for pictures...it was so wonderful! The staff at Newport Music Hall is fabulous as well! Very friendly, very helpful and outgoing, and very tough when needed to be! I'd visit this venue again and again!

    Pittsburgh Review

by pghperson on 5/8/10Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

I promised my teenage daughter and friend I'd take them. Being a veteran of the old-fashioned concerts where the group was a mile away, I did not appreciate the loudness and the way the kids were packed in. That being said, it was an excellent show. Never Shout Never is the group we mainly went to see and they were truly impressive, professional and very entertaining. This does not detract from the other groups -- the girls enjoyed them all. But what really impressed me was the way ALL the members of ALL the groups treated the their fans: they were patient, professional, respectful and kind -- signing autographs, taking pictures, talking and clowning around long after the end of the show. I told the girls the truth -- I'd take them again anytime to one of your productions (I'll bring earplugs). I saw many other parents there who appeared to be equally at ease.

The show itself was kind of fun. I always enjoy a show at the Newport because the energy is so insane; I love it. The only problem with the show was the dumb preteen girls that A: had Justin Bieber fan girl screams B: only listened to Nevershoutnever because Christofer Drew is "so sexy" C: hardly knew the words to the songs D: had fake tattoos (drawn on by sharpies) and fake piercings E: didn't understand a thing he was singing about and F: were extremely rude. That wasn't the venue or AP's fault, but it killed the energy for me. All of the bands played extremely well. They so obviously love playing and that made the show that much better. In all honesty, Christofer Drew seemed kind of fake during his performance. He seemed to be trying way too hard. That was a little annoying. Overall: it was a good show if you look passed the annoying, totally fake and insincere fans.

AP TOUR Never Shout Never was Amazing!!!

by ozzie6969 on 5/8/10Newport Music Hall - Columbus

From the onset The Summer Set came out Rockin and it didn't stop until the end!! The mix of musical styles through the opening bands was perfect. It was great to see this late in the tour there was no let down in the music, intensity or fun on stage! The Newport music hall Old, dirty and sticky as it is, is still one of the greatest venues for any show. You can't beat up-close and intimate. The only down side was it seemed the sound for the opening acts could have been better, but shuffleing 5 acts as quick as they did it's amazing they had any sound.

Everyone put on a great show. Full of energy. No downtime. They were even relatively quick changing between sets to keep things rolling.

    The Main Event

by RaquellyBaJelly on 4/11/10Station 4 - Saint Paul

The concert was very wonderful indeed :) I was mainly there to see Every Avenue, The Cab and The Summer Set and they did not disappoint! Plus, many of the members came out after the show to chat and take photos, so that's always awesome. Defs a night to remember <3
