Fans missed out.
by Dubesrus on 6/25/22Charles Schwab Field Omaha - OmahaThe MCWS is down to the final two teams. The event is a great showcase for college baseball. However, with the strict scheduling of two games each day, the NCAA failed many of the student-athletes and their families. On many days, the early games ran longer than average. It was impossible in the time between games to get the stadium empty and get new fans in by the 6 p.m. start. Many fans did not get in until well after the start of the game. This was especially bad for Games 2 and 4, the first games for 4 teams. Families and fans of those 4 missed the introduction of the full team rosters, that is only done prior to each teams initial game. Reserve players had their names read out to an almost empty stadium. This proves the NCAA is less concerned about the student-athlete and family experience than making sure ESPN broadcasts start on time.
