Arena services were good. Food and refreshments were better than usual ballpark fare. Game was great!
It was awesome to see BC and UML twice in 2 days, and the Sunday game was fantastic. But, the seats were uncomfortable: no leg room, no real padding, limited shoulder room. There was a limited selection of food and drink in the building. The food was not good and after having the sausage I found there was no ginger ale in the building to settle my stomach. The restaurants and bars in the neighborhood were not in tune with the event and were not scheduled to open until 3 PM on Sunday!!! We talked a restaurant into opening early but his website scared people away from coming into Worcester for dinner before the game.
Great game, great atmosphere, great arena -- Webster Bank Arena. Nothing beats D-1 college hockey tournament.
The hockey games were excellent, and the service staff at the DCU Center was polite and friendly. However, the food choices in the DCU Center are not very good. And the parking garage across the street from the DCU Center is HORRIBLE.. It took us a full hour to get out of the garage after the game on Sunday!!!!
Great game and great seats! Fun that two local teams ended up playing each other and BC won so it was a great night!!
Had a great time. The DCU coordinated everything perfectly and the teams played very well.
While the hockey itself was very good, and the seats comfortable, and the overall game "presentation" were solid, and why I would recommend this to someone in the future, the inability to leave between games on the Saturday event was made significantly worse by the inability of the DCU concessions staff to manage the demand. Despite a planned 1 hr gap where people would be "trapped" inside the DCU from 6:30 to 7:30, prime dinner time, concessions stands were not ready to feed the number of people there. As a result there were huge crowds waiting in extremely long lines waiting for food to be prepared. In addition, there were no beer sales AT ALL. I've been to several college sports events, and never been to one where they banned sales, so the NCAA is not to blame for this policy (could be MA state issues, I'm not from there and traveled from out of state). So, good event, lousy venue.
We had fabulous seats at center ice. My son rooted for BC. I rooted for UML. The final game was very exciting. It was a great experience for us all. My only gripe is the absurd markup in concessions, $7 for a box of crappy popcorn is ridiculouis!
I cannot imagine why the Northeast Regional for Men's NCAA Ice Hockey was not sold out. Two of the three games were intense - including a huge rivalry game between Boston College and UMass Lowell. Where were the students? Where were the alumni? If you are looking for a reasonably priced, great sports event, give up over-priced professional sports and go to NCAA hockey
Love the hockey, I go to the regionals every year. The only thing I don't like is that the northeast regional always has two hockey east teams. We see those matchups all of the time, I'd rather they put an ECAC team in one of those slots and then two of the western teams. I feel like the DCU center has kind of become a 2nd rate venue. I had very little cell phone signal in the arena which is remarkable at this point. The selection in the concession stands was also quite weak.
4 evenly matched teams provided a very competitive weekend of hockey. NCAA level hockey is the best in the country. Very fast , competition very even, goaltending assume, officiating was outstanding. I will return next year as I have the last 4….
Good game will be going again. Next time I will get seat that are behind the goal.
There is nothing in my book that is better that colldge ice hockey. This week end was no exception. The bridgeport arena is a great place to watch hockey and the whole venue is very clean and inviting. MY only grip is the parking. I feel the parking should be included in the ticket price. When I look at the cost of the total ticket it is waay to expensive.
Great seats and a great atmosphere. It was a fun event to bring my young children too. Unlike other sporting events the college atmosphere was great. There was limited drinking that was confined to one area so the fans were respectful and never got out of hand.
The NCAA Hockey East Regional was well-run and a lot of fun. The ticket staff, ushers, other attendants were quite courteous and helpful, esp. considering the crush of attendees. And, it's a very nice place…. BUT…….. If you attend an event at Bridgeport's Arena, bring a duffle bag of money, as you'll be fleeced for parking, concessions, and ticket 'transfer fees'. $4 for a 12oz bottle of water. $4 for a slice of plain pizza. My $42 two-game ticket had an extra $18 of 'transfer fees' slathered on top of it, for a ticket cost of $60, plus $20 for parking. It was my 1st time at the Arena, and will be my last. Also, the loud music played during intermissions is perhaps suitable for intermissions at an urban high school sporting event, not at an upscale NCAA championship. It was obnoxious.
20$ for parking for one game ! way out in open lot that took half an hour to get out of and onto highway due to limited road access and lack of traffic flow control.... a BIG negative. Negative: Price of tickets keeps going up (for fixed income retired folks like me who have been going regularly) this may be the last time due to cost versus seeing it on-line or on TV. Games were good and the hockey was good. Arena staff and NCAA staff were smiling and friendly as were the majority of the fans .... a big Positive. Positive having the school bands there. Negative too much loud music over arena sound system -
This arena has gone down hill in recent times. Floors were dirty, seats were not clean. $20 to park in a muddy lot is not acceptable. Poor if any lighting in those lots. Not to mention the ridiculous ticketmaster charges on top of everything else.
Great games once again, love going to see NCAA regional games at Bridgeport easy to get by car or ferry. Even got to see Barry Melrose that was a plus. Can't wait till NCAA hockey comes back to Bridgeport, hopefully soon.
Good venue for the games, good atmosphere, family friendly, all around very good event. Only downside, $20 parking big time ripoff.
