  • NCAA hockey regional was sad!

by Jbone1 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 3 out of 5

The crowds for both days were ridiculously low! The WCHA Final 5 drew more and they serve liquor. I don't know if it was because of ticket prices or the fact that no alcohol was served but I was happy to be there and watch the Gophers win. The ticket price wasn't outrageous. I think the no alcohol could have been a factor in ticket sales because adults really don't want the NCAA to decide what they can and can't drink! Regardless I don't need to have a drink to enjoy the product but this is not prohibition. And it really helped the local establishments! The NCAA decisions on a lot of stupid stuff is getting annoying and the venues that they hold events at are the ones losing money! If the NCAA wants people to show up for these regionals they might want to lower ticket prices a bit and serve alcohol. I'm sure that would at a minimum double ticket sales. GO GOPHERS!

The hockey games were fantastic. The seats were amazing, and ordering them on line and picking them up while we attended the WCHA tournament was a breeze.

  • Awesome!

Sometimes hard to see because fans were standing up and cheering but overall a great experience!

  • Great Hockey

I will always go to watch regionals in St. Paul. Doesn't matter who plays, always great hockey. The only way to make it perfect would be if they sell beer. I can buy it at the WCHA playoffs, why not at the NCAA regional? Senseless.....

college hockey at playoff time is the best sport to watch

Good college hockey tickets on the blue line at club level. I bought parking for the event and it was located right across the street from the arena.

  • 2012 NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey West Regiona

by JRPuck on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 4 out of 5

Great excitement in building. It was very nice not to have to deal with people who had drank too much Beer! At the WCHA Tournament a number of fans were drunk and obnoxious and there were a couple of fights. This was much better for a College game.

  • Awesome hockey weekend !!

by Sully16 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

Wow ...you couldn't off asked for a better weekend if you are a fan off hockey. In this tournament I was able to see two games on saturday. Then the winners faced off Sunday to see who would represent down in Tampa for the frozen four. The weather was in the 60's and sunny both days. St. Paul's Excel Center is a great place to see any event. The restaurtants and surrounding area is easy to access for parking and grabbing a bite to eat . A GOOD TIP !! or something to remember when buying tickets for hockey. My seats were section 125 row 13. In that end of the stadium anything below row 15 are the non-permenent seats. This is where they retract the seats to make room for stages. The seats are harder and narrower than the other seats. So after the first period we moved to other seats since the lower bowl was not full do to there being two games. The two games were really good. Building the suspence for the rivalry on Sunday. Customer service switched seats for us Sunday when I went and told them the problem. My Dad had just had some back surgury some moving to softer backed seats was awesome. That was really nice of them and was done with no hesitation on their part. They were glad to help.

Lots of fun only bad thing was no beer or booze sales.

  • NCAA West Regional - Xcel Energy Center

by nelsb01 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

Another great event at the X. As always the X staff were wonderful, the atmosphere was great and the hockey great. Can't find fault with North Dakota fans, they spent a lot of money two weekends in a row.

  • NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Regional

by MavFan45 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 2 out of 5

Unfortunately, the NCAA does not promote much for atmosphere at their events. Especially compared to the WCHA conference tournament of which I attended the week before. Also, with Ice Hockey not being one of the most popular sports, its hard to get people out of their couches and into an arena at $50 per ticket foir a single game.

  • Let me out !

by Goldy2012 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 3 out of 5

I was a little disappointed with the NCAA on this event. First of all the separate tickets for the first days game was a little strange but when they would not allow you to leave the building between games i was more than a little upset. One hour between games is a long time to hold people in the building. It also would have been nice to have a beer during the game. I kind of understand the NCAA's reasoning behind it but i did not see any students even in the crowd to worry about it.

  • NCAA Regional at the X

by atbr on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 3 out of 5

The venue location was great. Wish more fans attended. Should open more concessions. Hurt by North Dakota fans in jerseys with derogatory hostile & abusive terminology and logos.

  • NCAA Hockey

by Anonymous on 3/26/12DCU Center - WorcesterRating: 4 out of 5

Great event, however, I think that people attending the game should be able to leave and come back in between games.

Great weekend of hockey! I wouldn't have missed the Gophers on their road to the championship!

  • a great Gopher weekend

by Gopherfan2 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

Our inconsistent MN Gophers made a stellar showing this weekend and are now off to the Frozen Four. Good luck to the team. Wish we could be there to cheer you on.

  • Priced too high

by Fergy62 on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 3 out of 5

Heard it over and over, this package was priced way too high, half full arena and most I heard from said price $63 in Green Bay last ear for regional, and $103 here with fees. Everyone was talking about it and how a full arena would have been so much better for atmosphere, concession sales as well as area businesses.

  • Nothing like D1 College Hockey!

by ConcernedHowieFan on 3/26/12DCU Center - WorcesterRating: 4 out of 5

Decent venue, though the DCU is definitely a bit worse for the wear ... need more bathroom capcity! Lines for food and bathrooms were both ridiculous during both the semi-final and final games. But there's nothing like D1 College Hockey, so the quality of the product on the ice trumps the creature-comforts of the venue.

  • Hockey at its most intense.

by news2jim on 3/26/12Xcel Energy Center - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

When you have a chance to watch an NCAA playoff hockey game, do so. The intensity level is much higher than with regular season games. Everything is on the line...
