This was entertaining, thought provoking, and informative. Dr. Kara Cooney was incredible! She is so brilliant, funny and powerful. I highly recommend this...
Kara was energetic, informative, and humorous. The only thing I felt could have been better is the description of the presentation. Almost didn't go because I really couldn't tell what the talk would be discussing and it was much better than the description.
I was completely impressed with Dr Cooney's presentation. She is completely engaging, incredibly intelligent and has a relaxed delivery. I was delighted. The hall, however, not so much. The rows are so jammed together it's worse than a discount airlines. I left with an ache to my right knee and that has persisted. At least on an airplane you can get up and stretch.
I expected the lecture to be good, but I did not expect it to be THAT GOOD. Kara Cooney is a terrific speaker, and at the end my friends and I were trying to figure out how we could take a class with her.
This was a wonderful event - fantastic stories and photographs exploring the world of big cats - a wonderful chance to learn about a photographers' experiences and the important effects of conservation for big cats. I would love to see more events like this - Thank you to Columbus Zoo for partnering with this event !
Steve Winter is a master storyteller who just happens to be a genius with a camera and a big heart driven to save the world from neglectful humans! A great ambassador for the victims of climate change and habitat loss. A simply inspiring night! Thanks Steve!
The images were absolutely stunning! Learning about the challenges these big cats face was eye opening. Steve was wonderful and shared a lot of information in a very interesting manner. Would definitely recommend!
Great event!! Very enjoyable and educational evening with Col. Terry. We were glad to welcome him to Knoxville and hope more events like this come back.
Wonderful insight to our planet! Terry gave us an educational insight on life at the international space station, a perspective of our planet from above the earth & his personal experiences as an astronaut! So glad we attended! Definitely recommend!!
Thanks for the show. My son loved it!!! I appreciate your hard work and dedication.
very entertaining evening. Amazing insight into not only the world through pics and video, but what it is like to work for Nat Geo, and how much time and effort goes into it. Looking forward to the second in the series....
It was such a pleasure to attend this event. The photographer is smart, curious and showed some awesome photos.
Really in-depth and interesting talk about bugs bats humming birds and how to photograph them. Great pictures and videos.
While the exhibit was very good, it was too cold in the building.
Was really looking forward to the National Geographic 50 most popular photos. The presentation of the photo's was outstanding and to see what was selected was a real treat. A wonderful way to spend an hour at the Venetian. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The photos were displayed just like they were in an art gallery so you could get close and read the captions and stand back and let the full impact of the photo hit you. I went around twice, once up close and then went through again. Of course I had my favorites. Photography of this caliber is rare.
Great photos and explanations of where, when and why they were special. Video segments added a more detailed look at each photo. Really enjoyed the unusual places and natural wonders that were photographed.
a picture is a picture is a picture, unless it's from National Geographic. That and much more is really evident when you see this collection and hear the remarkable stories behind each photo. The setting inside the Venetian added to the exhibit. Since this is a self guided tour the tickets don't need to tell you what time to show up. That was the only thing we were surprised with. Congratulations on this exhibit. Well worth it.
This exhibit was interesting and intriguing. I spent well over 1 1/2 hours finding out the stories behind some of the best photographs from National Geographic. The only thing that was a little so-so to me was the fact that some of the photos didn't have the history of the actual photo subject and just talked about the way the photograph was taken, so there was some interpreting that one would have to do. I guess, in a way though, it caused you to want to do more research on your own afterward to find out the rest of the story. There were also video monitors showing an interview with the head of National Geographic and the photographers for the top 8 photos placed between the two photos they were discussing. It was also very interesting to see the "near shots" taken before the famous picture was taken. Probably not the first thing that people are thinking about when headed to Vegas, but if you want some entertainment that you can actually talk about later, I'd highly recommend stopping in at this exhibit!
