LOVE POLICE TOURING PRESENT
NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS & C.W. STONEKING
COME TOGETHER FOR CO-HEADLINE SHOWS IN 2017
“Rateliff isn't simply resurrecting the ghost of R&B past like some garden-variety neo-soul necromancer: He's out to shake the sheets, sermonize and get downright elemental.” NPR
“(C.W. Stoneking) the hottest—and most enigmatic—blues artist in Australia” The Village Voice
In what is sure to be a high watermark for Australian music fans partial to a little future retro flavour, American soul and R&B sensation Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and our own king of arcane rhythm & blues C.W. Stoneking will come together for a limited series of co-headline shows in March 2017. Following on from Nathaniel Rateliff’s barnstorming sets at Bluesfest, subsequent sold out Australian headline shows and the recent weeks spent sharing stages with C.W. Stoneking in the U.S, local audiences will now have a chance to experience the magic of this dynamic pairing for the very first time, as the duo of acts book shows in Sydney, Brisbane and a special pre Labour day weekend Shindig By The Sea in the post industrial waterfront location of Williamstown, Melbourne.
With a brand new EP A Little Something More From… just released in Australia via Stax Records/Caroline, 2016 has been a monumental year of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. Sold out shows, including the 9500 capacity Red Rocks Arena in their hometown of Denver, Colorado. TV appearances on Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert., TFI Friday and Later With Jools Holland amongst others has ensured the meteoric rise of one of the most exciting live bands on the planet. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats go beyond just faithfully recreating soul and R&B from the past, they instead inject it with a dose of modern grittiness and vitality until it becomes the genesis of new sound where the echoes of the past are heard only while moving rapidly forward.
Not to be outdone, C.W. Stoneking has been making a huge noise taking the voodoo R&B sounds from his third album Gon’ Boogaloo to the world. With a string of sold out shows, a haul of rave reviews and massive press attention on its release at home, C.W. then set his sights on the world, first with successful tours in Europe and the U.K. then onto U.S. where he has steadily gained the attention of what is an impossibly huge market, recently scoring #9 spot on the U.S. Billboard Blues charts and critical praise from NPR, All Things Considered, World Cafe, PRI, The World and more. We’ve known it for ages, C.W. Stoneking is the real deal, now the rest of the world is finally catching on!
It was a great show! The energy was incredible! I knew it was going to be a good show, but it surpassed my expectations!!!!
Two separate Live Nation staff members said after the show that this was the best performances they’ve had at this venue. They are as good as it gets.
Discovered this band through a friend. They are great. Wasn’t sure the energy of their recoded music would translate to a live show, but wasn’t disappointed!
Nathaniel Rateliff and his band were fantastic however the experience was subpar because The Mets acoustics were awful. It was impossible to discern the lyrics. I should have saved my money and stayed home and put on a record.
Concert venue was outstanding. I missed Nathaniel wearing his hat's and not doing his fancy footwork during his songs.
First time seeing NR & NS live.. loved it. The venue very cool as well. Good view, nice vibe.
I went to the show because I want tickets from a radio and was extremely happy with what I saw. Great band to see live. I had only known a couple of their songs, but became a fan of so many more. The Met in Philly is also such a wonderful concert venue.
The venue was spacious and comfortable. All staff in front of house were friendly and professional.
What an amazing performance?! I would love to go to this show once a week.
The band great. The venue and audience were not. Spent much of the show unable to see.
Great show! Definitely worth getting out on a cold rainy-ish Wednesday night.
The band was fantastic and the sound quality was great. They played everything you could hope for and more. Absolutely loved it and look forward to next time. First row of section 5 was difficult to see the stage since everyone stood. The stage should be a foot or so higher and a small screen would help. The incessant movement of people going back and forth for beer was at times distracting. Not sure what the solution is to that. Great food options. Excellent security. Easy in and out both on foot and once in your vehicle. Red Hat is a nice venue.
Nathaniel Ratliffe is always a wonderful high energy show. Might be my favorite performance in person.
Have not had such a good time in many years. There’s music that is good and there’s music that moves you. Nathaniel Ratecliff has both. Did not sit down the whole time with the nightsweats
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats band was wonderful! I was so very happy to see them and just loved the concert! I loved the size of the venue too. My only complaint is I paid big bucks for front row seats for my son and me, but didn't realize the pit was so close (I thought it would be lower or something - it's been a while since this senior citizen has been to a concert!). I'm short and a VERY tall man and his almost as tall friend tended to stay right in front of me. I so wish I'd bought seats a few rows back and saved money and had a better view of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats. Lesson learned.
Every aspect of the performance and the venue was great.
We love Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats. They didn’t disappoint. Played all the favorites. Energy for the full show.
Great concert! Great set list! These guys are amazing live. Would love to see them at Red Rock out in Colorado some time.
Nathaniel Rateliff knocked it put of the park. He was a 10 out Of 10.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats put on a show to remember! Sound just like their recordings. Perfect mix of songs. So much fun!
