About

Comedian Nate Bargatze’s clean-cut and relatable humor is why The Atlantic called him “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up.” The Nashville, Tennessee native and host of the Nateland podcast found his voice in the mid-2000s with regular appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Bargatze was featured on Jimmy Fallon's Clean Cut Comedy Tour in 2013, three years after he was named “New York's Funniest Stand-Up” at the New York Comedy Festival. Since then, Bargatze has been selling out arenas on solo tours and has opened for comedy icons like Chris Rock. Bargatze’s signature deadpan delivery was showcased in his 2021 Netflix special, The Greatest Average American, which earned a Grammy Award nomination for the coinciding comedy album. His 2023 Amazon Prime special Nate Bargatze: Hello World became the most-streamed original comedy special debut in Prime history — with 2.9 million viewers in its first 28 days — culminating in Bargatze breaking the attendance record for Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

    Fabulous comedian!

by HB on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Opening acts good but Nate was fabulous! Laughed entire time! Minus was exiting parking lot. Sat for 25 min. Do better NRG folks

    A great comedian!!

by Jack on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Nate is the BEST!!! His humor is clean, but not in a prudish way, and is never mean-spirited. Just a genuinely funny man. He takes every day events to which we can all relate and finds humor in them, then shares that humor with a perfectly paced delivery. Our favorite comedian!!!

    Nate is so funny!

    by A_Willi on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Nate and his opening act comedians are so funny! So many great laughs and love love that Nate can be so funny and doesn't even have to touch on politics or swear every other word or do what MOST other comedians do. Amazing!

    Nate was incredible, but…

by Charles on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Nate’s set was fantastic as always. Third time to see him live in Houston, previously in a comedy club, then University of Houston theater. Been fun to see him grow his career. However, with that growth there are two expectations not met. One, should have better openers. I can appreciate them trying to grow as well, but they are not at the skill level appropriate for that size crowd. Didn’t enjoy the show until Nate, which is probably not the intent. Two, although it held more people and enjoyed the round room seating, the facility did not match a comedy show. With the rustic construction and food court serving everything from chickfila to nachos, felt like going to a rodeo that happened to have a comedy show. Would happily defer the closer round seating for a nicer theater experience. The next time he is in Houston, if it is a bad facility and/or not strong openers, won’t see it as worth $100/ticket and just wait for the online special.

    Funny, but not 100% original

by LYDO on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Nate is a funny guy, but I was disappointed that he didn't have an original show. He used the same jokes he used in SNL monologue from earlier this year. To me, this is like a band lip syncing. Openers were ok.

    Absolutely hilarious

by Pvds on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

We laughed from the beginning to end. Nate has a great style - deadpan relatable everyday jokes. Great material in this show.

    Great Show, terrible venue

by Comedy Fan on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

I’m a big fan of Nate Bargatze and his act, as well as the openers, we’re all great. The problem was that the venue was pretty bad. Having all of by the floor seats not on a slope is not good for this type of show unless you have a front row seat. Otherwise, the person in front of you is completely blocking your view. Sound was good.

    Hilarious!

by Alex C on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

Great show. Nate was absolutely hysterical, and openers were great as well. Hoping a special comes out soon so I can re-live this show.

    So fun!.

by DaisyGirl on 4/30/24Lafayette Cajundome - Lafayette

Show was everything we thought it would be. Great pre-show comedians. Nate was his usual funny self. Lots of laughing by all. We were seated in tier up from stage. Sound was excellent. Video imaging of Nate on stage was perfect. We did not have to squint to see him. Perfect set up. Not sure if it was the venue, but there were perhaps 2,000 people still waiting to get in when show started. We only got in after first comedian went on. With that many people and the security necessary, accommodations for that many people to get in on time need to be reassessed. My husband and I are not regular show goers, so no clear bag as indicated. However, my small regular bag, about 4 x 6 was shown as acceptable on site and on board outside stadium. However, the security guard said it was questionable, so I took it back to the car which was quite a distance. Apparently there were others like me. Rather than make any exceptions, just make it clear to all that a clear bag is necessary to enter. Great venue otherwise. Thank you for a great show.

Nate and Crew Absolutely crushed it! NRG Arena is a joke.

by Zach on 4/30/24NRG Arena - Houston

My wife and I were nearly in tears we were laughing so hard. Nate Bargatze is wonderful with his content and timing and I would definitely recommend this show. The venue choice for Houston was miserable, but he still managed to make it great. His openers were hilarious along with the host. I’d even like to see their sets extended a few minutes For the venue, NRG Arena, this is a facility that is embarrassing for the city of Houston. It’s old, cold, has terrible bathrooms, food choices, and the parking was a nightmare. F minus for NRG!

    Hilarious Show/ Awful Venue

by Brad on 4/29/24NRG Arena - Houston

Show was amazing! My wife and I both cried because we were laughing so hard. The venue however was awful. An hour wait to get a drink and they ran out of cups?!? How is that even possible. They said they weren’t expecting so many people but they literally sold the tickets so I’m assuming they keep count of things like that. Then they ran out of water! Only one entrance was open so everyone had to leave out the same set of doors and there was no one in the parking lot to direct traffic leaving. It was one step above a madmax movie with everyone fighting to leave the parking lot.

    Nate Great, the Others Not

by jane on 4/29/24NRG Arena - Houston

Nate was very very good, recommend 100%, 5 stars. But the 3, yes THREE, openers, not so much. Plus, my ticket said showtime 7pm and did not mention at all any opening acts, so I wasn't too happy that Nate didn't take the stage until almost 8:30pm. Not good and not necessary. Ticketholders should have been told about this.

a third of the show was repeated material

by dub on 4/29/24NRG Arena - Houston

Considering Nate Bargatze probably gained many of his fans from his Netflix specials, one would think he would use some new material for an actual show people are buying tickets for. It started out funny, but unfortunately, the second half was mostly the exact same bits from his tv specials that left us feeling disappointed in the lack of effort and creativity. A live performance doesn’t help make redundant jokes funny.

Nate was amazing and his openers were topnotch!

by tracy on 4/29/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

Great laughs and good times were had by all! I wish I had made notes of the openers names.

    Great show, but started late

by Scott on 4/29/24NRG Arena - Houston

Loved the show and he was amazing. Just didn't love that they started 30 minutes late. Also the Arena had only 1 entrance and exit to the floor which is not ideal when leaving.

    Terrible Parking & Too Hot

by Jim on 4/29/24NRG Arena - Houston

The show was great, but the parking lot was terribly managed and the inside of the venue was uncomfortable and too hot. There were even moths flying around the comedians all night. I would never attend something here again solely because of the parking. I’m embarrassed for people that came from out of town and this chaos was their impression of Houston - a bunch of unprofessional poorly trained staff and an uncomfortable venue. Isn’t this supposed to be in the NRG complex? Felt like I was in decrepit infrastructure.

    Disappointed

by Old Lady on 4/29/24American Bank Center Arena - Corpus Christi

He was good but not as funny as expected. They started 30 minutes late, I understand why but made the evening long. His host was good but the other guys not so much. For the cost of the tickets, I will not go another time.
