About

MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT IN CONCERT:

Industrial rock titans My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult stir up an intoxicating cocktail of sleazy lounge swagger, industrial dance rhythms, and confrontational rock to create a swinging party on stage. With song titles like “Sex on Wheelz” and “Kooler Than Jesus”, the band lets audiences know they are in for a wild ride at their rollicking live shows. Singer Groovie Mann orchestrates the pandemonium, charismatically chanting his subversive sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll lyrics as he sways to the band's tunes on stage. Industrial rock fans won’t be able to resist their propulsive rhythmic collage of metallic noises, sampled phrases, and techno beats that makes every song just as fun as it is freaky. With ticket buyers still talking about their 2014 album Spooky Tricks, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is bringing their provocative and unforgettable dance party to select cities across America in 2015.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Founding members Groovie Mann (Frankie Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Marston Daley) met in 1986 while touring with industrial metal band Ministry. Mann invited McCoy to collaborate on a film he was producing called My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, which never materialized but did become the name of their new band in 1987. The following year the Chicago-based group released I See Good Spirits I See Bad Spirits, which became a staple on college radio stations and in industrial clubs. TKK continued to evolve and experiment over the course of the ‘90s and ‘00s, incorporating elements like surf rock, house, and go-go music into their signature sound. The band continues to put on a gripping and funky show every time they take the stage, delivering a no-holds-barred rock bonanza that's sure to please longtime fans and newcomers alike.

    Great show. Great intimate venue.

by basest on 3/22/24The Underground - Charlotte

I saw My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult a couple times at the Metro in Chicago back in the 90s. The shows were mind-blowing and amazing and a little bit scary to a young Xtian-identified man. If corrupting me a little bit was part of the goal of MLwtTKK, they succeeded. They are a little bit stripped down, almost intimate on the Evil Eye Tour. In scope and size. Not in sound. Now…I can’t say I don’t miss the Bomb Gang Girlz, the props, and all the excess of the shows I remember from decades past, but I did enjoy the hell out of the show when they performed at the Underground. They played a great set that drew heavily (if not entirely) from that early period. I managed to be up in front right in front of the bass, which, as a player of said instrument, I always like to see what they’re doing. Mimi Star killed it. She’s a terrific presence on stage. Have to find out what she does when she’s not playing with TKK. Unsure who was handling drum duties, but he was pounding the hell out of a cocktail kit, proving that size isn’t everything. The band seemed to be having a blast, and the two opening acts (KANGA and ADULT.) were compelling. The venue is excellent, and easily handled the crowd that attended. Any staff with whom I interacted were friendly and personable. The sound was great. My one gripe is that the drinks are overpriced, which bumped this review down from a 5-star to a 4-star one.

    Fantastic venue fantastic concert

by New York City music scene on 11/13/23Bowery Ballroom - New York

The day before the concert I went to Warsaw in Brooklyn to see the Damned and it was awful got manhandled by security I was sent outside to wait for someone to talk to the extremely unprofessional staff. Bowery ballroom was the opposite, great venue, the staff was super friendly, I ask if they could tucked the curtain that was on the stage so we can have a better view and the gentleman guarding the backstage was very helpful and the did tucked the curtain which make the experience so much better for all of us, sold out concert, great venue, great vibes, the band my life with the thrill kill kult was fantastic, it was Halloween night, Bowery ballroom has been in service for decades and they know how to host guests, highly recommended

    Bucket List

by Jwowzy on 11/5/23The Asylum at Masonic Temple - Cleveland

Finally witnessing My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult live was an epic bucket list check-off. Each band member personified the essence of rockstars, delivering a mind-blowing performance. The crowd was an eclectic mix of die-hard fans, all in perfect sync with the show's electric energy. Groovie Mann, the frontman, oozed rockstar vibes, dominating the stage with sheer presence. It was a night of pure music and spectacle, where years of anticipation culminated in a dream come true. The experience was a great one. I hope they’ll post more interviews on social media and return soon to Ohio.

    Fantastic show

    by 1976transam on 11/5/23

The night started out cold (no heat at venue) but got hot by the time TKK came on. 4 hours of fun with the two opening acts Adult and Kanga.TKK was just as entertaining as they were back in 95 when I last saw them. Everyone was energized and into the show from beginning to end. I hope they come back next year.

    Great band, great show

by ministryofadam on 11/3/23Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre - Somerville

One of the better small shows I've been to around Boston the last few years. Crystal Ballroom has much better street parking options than Brighton Music Hall or Sinclair, sound and lighting were great, staff was friendly. The band put on a great show with props and multicolored lights, quite a bit from Confessions of a Knife and a lot of others from 1988-2001.

    America's Most Dangerous Kult!

The best industrial disco sleaze revue on Planet Earth. The Wax Trax! beats and religious mockery still sound fresh 35 years on.

TKK Halloween Night at the Bowery Ballroom - Cuz It's Hot!

by RF on 11/3/23Bowery Ballroom - New York

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult played a sold out Halloween show in the Bowery and it was hot. Kanga and Adult go the costumed crowd warmed up and then TKK lit it up! The energy stayed high the entire night - 4 hours of music. TKK played from 10 to midnight and then loosed the amped up crowd into the cold NYC devil's night right at the witching hour.

    Still Rocking It Since 1986’!

by CaveBat242 on 6/5/23Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

The show was incredible. The My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult is still full of so much energy and continues to entertain the audience by keeping them dancing. I’ve been watching the spencers 1986 and the first came to Los Angeles and broke out in THE CROW movie with Brandon Lee, which really catapulted them in the EDM-techno, Martini lounge style with a splash of leather and lace burlesque, feel with a ton of Sexxxiness. I had a blast and can’t wait to see them again..

Amazing energy and great mix of songs

by muphasta on 6/5/23Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

TKK is my favorite band so I'm never going to say anything bad about them. This was my 14th TKK concert and was in the top 3 out of all of them. I think the only shows that were better were the first time I saw them in Pensacola Florida in 1991, and then in Chicago (Berwyn really) in 2018. This show was full of energy on stage as well as in the crowd. They played songs from several albums, songs I don't remember hearing live in a long time. Cuts from Hit and Run Holiday stood out, as did After the Flesh which appeared in the movie, The Crow. This track really got the crowd going.
