My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

Great concert - Neon Trees were great and MCR cannot be beat!
this show was beond amazing. i wish i could go back in time and see it again! i loved when frank jumped in the croud♥♥♥
The MCR show in Denver was incredible. The opening act was the Architects (Kansas City, not UK) and they blew me away. Today I bought all their music on iTunes because they were THAT good. Then Neon Trees was fantastic and put on a really entertaining performance. They had everyone in the place singing along with Animal and 1983, but also played a lot of other great songs. My Chemical Romance were seasoned professionals from the moment they took the stage. Every song sounded as good or better than on the recordings, and they were in top form. The crowd was incredibly energetic and it was the funnest show I've been to in awhile.
First off Gerard looks amazing and sounds amazing as ever. I've seen them twice before on there "Three Cheers....." tour and they were great then but this time around I was blown away with the added energy and much more precise playing. The Showbox Sodo was a great venu, love the bar, the bar food is bar food(ehh) and the sound is amazing. I've heard other people review the Sodo as having to loud of sound or even just the high end range being to high, but I saw Social Distortion there last month and now MCR and I haven't had issues with either show, in fact on the contrary I think the sound is amazing. Good setlist, played all the hits including many off the most recent album "Danger Days". You got to check these boys out Live, they're awesome.
What an Amazing Show! Architect was a great opening band, they really got things going. Neon Trees surpassed my expectations. MCR was so much better than I expected fr just comming back from Europe. They played a mix of old-and-new songs, and rocked it! They played so well, and worked the crowd like a champ!
The best mosh pit I've ever been in ! :) it was wayyyy better than Bullet For My Valentine (:
It was a pretty fantastic show! My Chemical Romance has been one of my favorite bands for several years now, seeing them live, just wow! They do not disappoint! I think the smaller venue helped with that, making the show more intimate then most, it's the smallest venue that I've been to to see a band so huge. Though I am not a huge fan of the new album, they still did a wonderful job on those songs live. And if I may say so, which it appears that I may, and even better job on the songs they played from Black Parade, and Revenge. To my sadness, they only played one song from Bullets, but it was still great! So much energy! Their stage performance and sound was fabulous! MCR fans, if you have not made your way to a show yet, DO SO! I plan on seeing them again many a time!
Amazing Show!!!! One of the best concerts of my life! Thank You MCR!
What can you say about MCR that hasn't already been said? They put on a helluva show. Very high energy, loads of fun. Lots of old MCR fans who GET what MCR is about which is cool, but also newer fans who don't but they add nice energy too so it was all good. Unfortunately, Showbox Sodo is NOT a good venue for ANY act. Aggressive, testosterone-laden bouncers who forget that YOU'RE the one who payed to see the show. They lived up to their reputation for being jerks. Ventilation was horrible, people passing out from the heat. Acoustics sucked too. YUK.
Have to say I've been to most of their shows in the area over the past years and this one was hard to beat!!!
All of the lighting for the show was from he back of the stage so consequently you couldn't really see band members faces - Gerard turned his back on the audience and faced the drummer for 1/4 of show. Never did get a look at Ray as he was always in the dark. Sure you come to listen but part of the thrill is actually seeing them. It didn't seem that the band members were making an effort to connect with the audience. The music was good. Would like to have heard more from new album.
My Chem put on a great show at the Showbox Sunday night. Their performance was fairly raw, no frills, no pyro. Was hoping for a few more songs during the encore. Hope they do a second wave and come back to Seattle.
Holy Crap. I loved this concert. My ribs are still sore from getting slammed into the barrier, but I DON"T CARE! I got to touch Tyler from Neon Trees (didn't expect his shirt to be that wet...). This was my favorite concert, period. It makes me scared to go to other concerts because I know that they won't be able to be as great as this one was.
I personally dislike the Showbox Sodo, but My Chemical Romance rocked so hard that they made it a million times better. The intro bands were pretty good too.
I thought Mychem was plain out AMAMZING! The voices were perfect! 5 star to the limit! The whole band sounded amazing! The songs that they played were awesome and they sang some old songs which i thought was the best thing ever! I seriously almost cried at the concert! My Chemical Romance is now my favorite band, And that was the best concert I have ever been to!!! ----Thank you for an awesome concert mychem!
I have been to many shows in Seattle but not only was this my first MCR show, it was my first rock concert. I was completely unprepared for what i was getting myself into. I arrived at the venue and was greeted by the longest line of vibrantly and eccentricly dressed fans: my first sight at what distinguished the MCRmy from the rest of the bunch. When we got into the venue it was clear this performance was not going to be like any other. The setting was so intimate and all of the fans were so ready to see their band that the energy was almost tangible. The opening act, The Architects were already rocking out some fast paced chords prefectly coordinated with the lights behind them. They almost sounded like an Americanized version of Flogging Molly and the fans responded to their energy right on cue. As the crowd waited for Neon Trees, the stage turned dark and the lights above turned blue, sending the already tense crowd into a frenzy of anticipation. Neon Trees took the stage and treated the crowd to thirty minutes of leapord prints, mohawks, and killer dance moves. The crowd was intense, singing along to songs they knew by heart and jumping to the beat no matter if they were a long time fan or a newcomer. But as the last song played, a new kind of energy set in. The stage went dark again and the crowd was almost completely silent. They knew what was coming, and like me, they had probably dreamed about this moment for a long time. We waited for the stage to be set up and then we saw the most beautiful sight the eyes of a die-hard MCR fan could see. The silhouettes of Mikey Way, Gerard Way, Frank Iero, and Ray Toro took to the stage and the sound of the crowd would have put any 12th man to shame. There was jumping, crying, screaming, and laughing as the first chords of "Na Na Na" filled the room. It was like nothing I could have imagined. The band greeted the crowd with smiles as they tore through their first set and the crowd answered with the most amazing energy. They struck the hearts of the old fans by sweeping right into Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge's Thank You For the Venom. There was not a word this crowd didn't know and they sang along as the one and only Gerard Way commanded the stage. The boys delivered old favorites and new hits and songs like "Famous Last Words" produced giant mosh pits that only added to the euphora in the room. Danger Days was not left out and "Destroya", "The Only Hope For Me Is You" , and my favorite, "Summertime" were met with equal reception from the crowd. It was amazing to see the MCRmy reuntied with their band and the entire night was reminder after reminder of why the MCRmy is so crazy about these guys. They didn't just sing their songs, they performed them like true artists. It was obvious that each and every one of them put their heart and soul into every song and the crowd did their best to thank them by never killing the energy, even when MCR walked off stage. For a good 5 minutes the crowd chanted "MCR!" until they were treated to the best moment of the night. MCR's electric pianist walked on stage, played a few notes, and was joined by just Gerard. The stage was completely full of smoke and all you could see was the outline of Gerard against a blue, smoky light. It is impossible to explain what it meant to the fans as Gerard began to sing "Cancer". There was not a dry eye around me and the experience was so moving, the unique voice of the MCR frontman only added to the other-worldly feel. The crowd was still intense, singing everyword back and swaying in unison, but when the set broke into "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" and the rest of the band marched on stage, all hell broke loose. The crowd went absolutely wild and two mosh pits erupted. The boys probably felt like they were back in a basement show, and the energy they had on stage showed four boys having the time of their lives. When they finally left, the crowd was content and excited. They had just seen the best band perform to the best fans in the world, without a doubt.
The MCR concert was the best night of my life! I have never felt as happy as I did at that concert! The feeling I got from being there is indescriblable! I loved it so much!
The Fox theatre doesn't have the best acoustics in the world. Ok, they suck, especially for a band that really rocks in an arena setting. But, I would have really liked for MCR to compensate for the muddy sound by giving us some great, over-the-top drama. Costumes and props would have helped amp up the Danger Day songs. Come on! Where were the crazy alternative world (post apocalypse?) outfits? The Black Parade songs did not need any extra drama (although it never hurts) because they are super awesome songs by themselves or as a concept album. Danger Day songs need a little something extra to make them go from "pretty good" to "awesome." I still love MCR and loved the show! Their energy is contagious!
The show was absolutely, INSANELY amazing. Best show I've ever been too and one of the best nights of my life. The theatre was beautiful and the opening bands were very good. But mostly, I GOT TO SEE GERARD AND MIKEY AND FRANK AND RAY LIVE. <3<3<3
So worth the wait. MCR sounds even better live, and the energy of the room is amazing. Unlike the previous MCR shows I attended, this one was truly all-ages. In addition to the expected high school/college fan base, there were many adults without children (I met other couples on the floor who, like me, left the kids with a babysitter to come out and rock), and whole families (the eight year-old with the red mohawk was awesome). The opening bands were a lot of fun--Neon Trees was especially engaging. But there is nothing like an MCR sing-along. The set list included eight tracks off Danger Days, six from the Black Parade, four off Revenge, and one from Bullets. It' great to see them onstage, full of energy, and smiling. Here's hoping for another live album!
