About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

this concert was the best ever! My Chemical Romance sounds great live, they have so much energy and the lighting they had was spectacular as well. DO NOT HESITATE TO SEE THIS BAND LIVE!!!....beware of violent pushing and being squished so hard you can barely breathe!...BUTS ITS WORTH IT!!!

  • Always the best

    by hmsc3 on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Okay so I am a little biased because I have always loved My Chem. They are always amazing to me. Gerard did look a little bored during some of the concert though which was a little sad but for the most part they rocked. :)

  • MCR - simply amazing

by MCRMGB on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Other than omitting "Sing", the show was everything I hoped it would be. From "Na Na Na" to "Bulletproof Heart", these guys put everything they've got into every song. Thanks to the band for booking the Aragon instead of some giant stadium. Being so close, no matter where you were, made the show that much more unbelievable.

  • MCR rocks

by KimmyWimmy on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

the show was great. the sound in the theatre was a little bad in the beginning but the sound guys finally figured it out by the middle of the show. MCR always knows how to bring it, and they did.

  • Too much distortion.

    by distortion21 on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

MCR did a great job and they played a good set list. They bundeled their heavey fast tracks in the beginning and let more of the mellow tracks play out later in the show. I saw tem at the All State Arena for the Blad Parade tour and hands down that show was much better. The sound quality at Aragon ballroom just did not hold up. I believe the concrete ceiling helped create all the echos and distortion I was hearing. Either that of MCR got a new sound engineer that couldn't tune the space as well as All State. Regardless, still a huge fan of MCR.

  • MCR is back!

    by hk209 on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 6th time I've seen My Chemical Romance, and it's been 2 years since I last saw them. I was excited all week leading up to the concert, and when they came on stage it was like the first time I saw them at Warped Tour. AMAZING!!! I missed them so much!

  • by Altavalon on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

While the weather was terrible and the venue was tricky, the show was amazing. Both the Architects and Neon Trees got everything off to a great start but the headliners--My Chemical Romance made everything worth while. The energy and love they sent out to the crowd was amazing and I do recommend that everyone who just wants to have a good time at a show and a band to inspire them should see MCR atleast once in their lives. I can't wait till I get to see them again, but I think I'll select a different venue next time.

  • My Chem was awesome!

by beebrittany on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

My Chemical Romance definitely put on a hell of a show. This was my second time seeing them, and both times they did not dissappoint. I LOVE GERARD!

  • MCR= WOW

    by conert89 on 4/18/11Aragon - chicagoRating: 5 out of 5

this was an amazing concert after not seeing them for four years. I was mind blown at the energy from the crowd and the band itself.

  • MCR was awsome

by rocor on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

With two good openers, The Architects and Neon Trees, followed by MCR what a show. The atmosphere and energy was amazing. MCR provided non stop rock that kept the crowd moving.

  • by Anonymous on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

it was a pretty good show. i like that they focused more on music rather than putting on a "show". the aragon ballroom is not known for great acoustics, which was definitely reflected in the sound of the concert.

  • my chemical romance was awsome!

by SayuriMoonMCR on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

  • too loud on the balcony

by kathpat on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The songs were better than the ones chosen for the house of blues event. The sound was supposedly good on the main floor. There were no warning signs regarding the excessice loudness in the balcony (the only place there were seats)

  • my chemical romance!!! omg!

by luup on 4/18/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

mcr made my night..they did such a great event. i loved the show. i cried like a baby when they came out. i waited from 9 in the morning to 6( cuz they open the doors earlier due to the rain) but every moment outside i knew it was for a good cause..good job mcr

  • MCR was incredible

    by Hankthetank89 on 4/18/11Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

A great mix of both new and old songs, many being personal favorites of mine. For anyone who enjoys MCR music on cd, amplify the feeling of joy you get from it by 10....or even 100....oh hell, why not 1,000. The show was one of the best performances I have ever been to. If they come to town again, I'll certainly plan on going.

  • My Chemical Romance Chicago April 2011

    by Pencil3 on 4/17/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

I did enjoy the show, but the acoustics were all wrong. I couldn't hear the guitarist, nor could I understand Gerard's words. MCR also just seemed to be going through the motions. I had a good time, but it wasn't as spectacular as expected.
