About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • My Chemical Romance + plus opening acts...WOW.

    by WesleyZ on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

First of all, the venue was amazing. Yes, waiting in line, having to stand the whole day was a pain, but it was worth it. The bar was simple to get too, the acoustics were amazing, the fans are fantastic, and the bands were INCREDIBLE. The Architects and The Neon Trees were both great. Loud, fun, and great performers. Then, of course, MCR was brilliant. The dancing and signing was great. I'd recommended this event to anyone. It was the night of my life. PS. The pit was the best!

My first MCR concert and I loved, loved, loved it! Would go again in a heartbeat. Gerard sounded great and his energy never wavered. 5 stars!

  • Doesn't get better than this...

    by totallyrocks on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The first night, Friday, was amazing and I thought it couldn't get any better. Then Saturday night completely blew Friday night out of the box! MCR's energy is seemingly limitless, the connection to their fans is unprecedented. The singing from the crowd was almost as loud as that coming from the mic of Gerard Way. Most knew all the words to all of the songs, it was awesome. From an oldie but fab goodie Vampires Will Never Hurt You to the new songs from Danger Days and everything in between including, I'm Not Okay, Helena, Teenagers, Mama, Cancer and of course, my all time favorite classic, The Black Parade, the band never stopped. MCR has redefined the whole concert experience. This is what music is all about!

  • by Paola96 on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

This being my first concert, I didn't know what to expect. MCR really entertained. Having been standing on the main floor, I was constantly pushed around with the rest of the crowd, but it only added to the excitement and energy of the concert. Everyone was singing along. This is something that I will never forget!

  • Bruised, but happy.

    by ironicplot on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Props to the Terminal 5 security staff. With the pushing, the swaying, the squishing and the domino-style falling, I felt extremely thankful that those guys were keeping an eye on the crowd. To my knowledge, no one got seriously hurt. The sound was great. I don't know whether to attribute that to the crew of the artists or to Terminal 5's acoustics, but nonetheless, good sound. I had a great interaction with the box office staff. They were calm and gracious. Yay. And of course, MCR was in top form. I have not heard them that together before. This was a true rock show. It was big and loud and real, but still positive. That's a rare thing these days. <3

  • MCR at Terminal 5 were sick!!

  • MCR Rocked

    by napboy on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

MCR rocked, period. It was my daughter's first MCR concert. We're from North Carolina, and yes, we went to NYC to see MCR with their hometown fans. We planned our Spring Break vacation around this concert. The Architects and Neon Trees were no slouches but not MCR. Gerard interacts with the audience well. They played it all, old, new, really old.

  • MCR rocks!

    by MJO111 on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

MCR sounds amazing live! They really try to put on a phenomenal show because they really love their audience! They succeeded on Friday's show! Phenomena show!!! Love these guys!!!

  • It was amazing

    by Proton on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

All of the bands that performed were amazing and fun to watch. MCR was great and played a fair amount of good songs and the neon trees were very entertaining.

I gave it 5 stars. I think that means you should go see it.

  • Awesome show from start to finish!

    by RachelANJ on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I am not usually a fan of listening to music that I don't know the words to. I did not know of the Architects & Neon Trees music when I bought the tickets to MCR. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed both bands and they both put on a great show. I have been to many, many shows in my lifetime and My Chemical Romance is now in my top 5. They were great! They played a great mix of songs from all 3 albums and were very entertaining, they all had great energy. By the time the show was over, I had wished that I got tickets for the show the next night. I will be buying tix to see them again!

  • by KayRaz on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance, Neon Trees, & The Architects. What a freakin awesome show! Neon Trees blew me away. MCR was just as fabulous as ever! Third time seeing them, and they did not disappoint. Love, love, loved it! So much energy, great crowd, awesome music, awesome time.

  • Mcr is incredible!!!!!

    by KilljoyInfest on 4/24/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The venue is roomy enough with three floors and u can get a good view From anywhere in the hall. They also have couches for those who would prefer to sit which seemed to be a fave of The parents who took their kids. As for MCR, they were amazing as always. I've seen them live about 3 other times And this time was just as unforgettable as the rest. They put on great shows and the opening bands were pretty good also. I only wish they would play more songs from the bullets album.

  • CHEMICALLY ROMANCED!!!

  • My Chemical Romance, Kool Haus: Best. Night. Ever.

by ToxicRogue on 4/23/11Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I am obsessed with My Chemical Romance, so maybe I am biased. But I think the night was the best of my life. The venue was awesome, yes; the opening acts were good (I wasn't a huge fan of either, but I did love Anti Flag's cover of Should I Stay or Should I Go). The band didn't get on until approximately 9:15 and you could feel the energy in the people waiting for them. As soon as MCR came on though, you could almost feel a snap as the waiting ended. Everyone began singing, and it was an amazing feeling for all the Killjoys to be there. The crowd was FANTASTIC throughout, I don't think anyone calmed down. The band themselves were fantastic. I've always said Gerard Way was a showman, and he is. All of the guys are. The music is great for getting everyone going, and it felt like one huge party. The band put together an awesome setlist as well. They played every era, something I didn't expect but was amazed to hear. Bullets oldies like Our Lady or Sorrows (an encore I was thrilled to hear) and Vampires Will Never Hurt You; Three Cheers killers like Hang 'Em High and I'm Not Okay; Black Parade favorites like Mama and WTTBP; and of course, eight Danger Days tracks. The faster songs were fantastic to hear, because no one could stand still to those- it felt like we were ready to explode. Admittedly, Gerard or any of the guys didn't really interact with the audience too much, but I don't that because all I care about is the music: the pure energy in the music and in the people. I did not want it to end, and by the end of the show I was almost not willing to leave. For a die hard Killjoy like myself and maybe for others, this show was downright amazing. I traveled four hours to reach it and it was entirely worth it.

  • I miss the old days.

by mayist on 4/23/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I didn't feel the energy I was anticipating on feeling. I love my chem, & they could never do me any wrong. I've been waiting to see them live for about 4 years...but i just left feeling like something was missing. Although during vampires will never hurt you, it was everything I dreamed of.

  • MCR's Bucket of Awesome-Sauce

    by ThatArtistKid on 4/23/11Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was a blast. I don't think I could have picked a better place for my sweet 16. It was fun hanging out in front of the buses before the show. As for my seats, even though I was on the whole other side of the venue way up in the nosebleed section, I still had a pretty good view of the band. The reason I couldn't give the concert five stars is because of the venue itself. The Eagles Ballroom is just that- a ballroom. It wasn't built to handle rock music. The acoustics were so bad; pretty much all I could hear was a deafening roar. I had NO IDEA what the Architects were doing, I could sort of hear Neon Trees, and I couldn't tell how bad it was when My Chemical Romance came on but whenever there was a lull in the kids' screaming (lol) I could hear them okay. We bought VIP parking and STILL had to park in the back with everybody else. I didn't mid too much, but my mom was pissed. We also had seating issues. The reason we got nosebleed seats was so my mom could have a place to sit when she needed to, but there weren't enough seats. We had to fight tooth and nail to get her a seat and my brother and me were stuck standing. But don't let my complaining fool you! The energy from the kids was amazing! (As was the Decepticon logo on the front of MCR's semi.) I also think Gerard was sucking helium before the show, which made me giggle. My conclusion: good show, bad venue. I definitely have to go see them again!

  • Neon Trees! Oh, and mcr was there too...

by Pietie on 4/22/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

Neon Trees puts up an amazing show, very energetic, dynamic and sounds great! MCR was the headliner, are they just too pretencious anf full of themseves? Sounded good though. Aragon Ballroom was hot as hell!
