About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • MCR Rocked It...Again!

    by HMCM4 on 5/3/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance rocked the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL on April 15, 2011! They chose a set of new and old tunes from all of their albums. It was a great show, with a good mix of music!

  • The best concert ever!

  • Best Day Of My Life

by enimsaj on 5/1/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I waited in line from 3am until around 7 pm, and the entire time my friends and i were waiting didn't feel like waiting. The people we met were really awesome and i had a blast. The MCRmy has a lot of really awesome and kind people, and i felt at home in that dirty alleyway. It was nice to feel accepted for once. Then the show itself was incredible. I was right up front, right up against the barrier with a clear view of the entire stage. I will never forget that day, and My Chemical Romance will be my favorite band and Gerard, Mikey, Frank, and Ray will be my heroes and idols for years to come. They are amazing.

  • MCR rocked, Terminal 5, not so much.

    by MaJane on 4/30/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed this show for the talented performances by the opening bands, and the great show by My Chemical Romance. Other than that, the people working at Terminal 5 were completely unorganized and it made the hours of wait much more frustrating. The lines were such a mess that the people that went early to wait for over 6 hours and get a good spot, were not respected and the late comers cut in easily.

  • MCR is awesome!

    by MRod217 on 4/27/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 6th time seeing MCR perform live & I've yet to be disappointed. Gerard has a great voice. The sound was great. The set list they performed was great. They performed songs from the last 3 albums and, of course, the newest one. It was awesome! Can't wait to see them again!

  • My Chemical Romance

    by Anonymous on 4/27/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing. The venue is smaller than most venues. It doesn't matter where you are because you hear everything. The front man of Neon Trees was a great show man, I would go to a Neon Trees concert after that performance. The Architects were good. I'm probably going to buy more songs from them. My Chemical Romance was amazing. Every show from My Chemical Romance is amazing. The band always keeps the energy up and the ticket price is worth it. I don't think that My Chemical Romance could put on a bad show ever.

  • by FrickinErin47 on 4/27/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Opening bands were fantastic. My Chemical Romance played all my favorite songs including songs off their first album all the way through their new album. Venue was spacious and I had a good view of the stage. This was the best night of my life ever and I hope to see My Chemical Romance in concert again soon. They put of a great show.

  • by TerminalxTragedy on 4/27/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

this show was amazing. they guys were so into the crowed! Ray had a broken foot and still managed to play like a champ, Mikey was as amazing as ever, Frank was so energetic and Gerard looked like he was where he belonged. the sound was beyond perfect, even over the energy of the sold out crowed. they knew every word to every song and there was this feeling of assurance when Im Not Ok was screamed back at its creators. There is no place I'd rather be then at that show.

  • Shut up and let me see your jazz hands!

    by tnabinnz on 4/26/11Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time seeing My Chemical Romance. I've been a big fan since I was 13, so finally seeing the guys I looked up to in some of my toughest times was absolutely amazing. They definitely brought the energy to a crowd that had previously been somewhat dead. You see, the main act, MCR, was fantastic but the openers were so-so. The first band sucked and were completely boring and did nothing to pump people up. Neon Trees were pretty good; people actually knew their songs. It wasn't until MCR came on that it actually became a party. They opened with "Na Na Na" which got everybody jumping and to hear them play some older songs was a pleasant surprise. The only two songs that they did not play that I wish they had were "SING" and "Famous Last Words". I would have preferred they closed with "Famous Last Words" rather than "Bulletproof Heart". But over all, it was a great show. Gerard had the crowd eating out of his palm, the merch people were nice, and the music was loud - just the way an MCR concert should be.

  • MCR was amazinggg!

by mizzah1489 on 4/26/11Val Air Ballroom - West Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert, overall. Starting acts - The Architects and Neon Trees - were pretty awesome as well. A bit cramped and overheated, but what is one to expect? The only problem were some of the other attendees, but couldn't really be helped. I enjoyed it, especially as a first-time concert goer.

  • Always a good show

    by punkpop726 on 4/26/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I may be a bit biased seeing as how I have always been a My Chemical Romance fan, however, they put on a great live show. You can feel the energy from the singers voice and the music sounds great. The two supporting acts, Neon Trees and the Architects were also amazing. I would highly recommend any of these bands to people.

  • Wisconsin

    by Katie997 on 4/26/11Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

This is my first time to Wisconsin and it was truly a great experience. Greatest moment was wakling out into the venue and looking up at the ceiling and thinking...oh yeah, this is going to be a great show. When Neon Trees took the stage, it was magical. When MCR took the stage...people were jamming and having a great time.

  • MCR in Chicago

    by Katie997 on 4/26/11Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Holy crow...the show was amazing. Never had a chance to see MCR and it was over all great. Neon Trees did a fantastic job opening for them.

  • Beyond Amazing - MCR in NYC

    by BellaK on 4/26/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I was entirely amazed. As much as I'm in love with MCR, I was not aware of just how INCREDIBLY awesome they were live in concert! I drove up from Philly and wandered Brooklyn for a few hours before going to what was such an amazing concert. One of the few concerts where the opening acts actually were amazing and didn't make me want to run screaming.

  • MCR ROCKS!!

    by NocturnasNicole on 4/25/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was Amazing!!! Well worth the 7 hour drive and 4 hour wait in line! The venue was small and very personal. Loved the fact that the band gives water to thirsty fans during the show, it really helps when your getting dehydrated and cant push your way through the crowd to get a drink. MCR was amazing to see live, actually better live than on their records... will definitely go to another one of their concerts!

  • Great Bands - Awesome Venue - Meh Crowd

    by asdfqwer on 4/25/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Great band, MCR + Architechts + Neon Trees. Terminal 5 Venue is really neat. MCR fans screeched in my ear too much; worst part of the night was the fans standing near me.

  • My chemical romance was awsome!!!

    by ILoveMCR on 4/25/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I loved MCR for years ! This was the first time seeing them live, I loved it so much!!! I've always loved there music, from the black parade, famous last words, and stuff..... But when danger days came put I didn't love it as much as the old MCR ..... Now after hearing them mix their new stuff with their old stuff live!!! I love all there music equally !! ... They rock! I love Gerard! ....<3 he is smexy!! I waited all day on line... Then saw the opening bands (which where cool, but I really just wanted to see MCR) then finally I see the band come out! And I hear look alive sunshine!!!!! .... Then Na Na Na Na!!!! ...the croud went wild... That was the most awsome moment of my life! ......oh and if you are gonna be in a standing place .... Be ready to be in a roughf mash pit.... Pushing shoving.... And stuff.... But it's worth it, and I really liked terminal 5 cause if you have enoughf of the mash pit... You can go upstairs and watch the show... It's what I did half way in cause It got really intense...

  • AMAZING!

    by Gloryr72 on 4/25/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a few show of My chemical Romance before but this las t show on 4 /23/11 was out of this world. It was amazing as always but this time the boys had so much carisma and so much energy that is was so contagious and vivid. I really enjoys and I will see aging and again if I get the change to do it :-) I really recommend it to everybody <3 love MCR!!! Killjoy make some noise!!!!!!

  • Nothing less than what was expected

    by Turquoised on 4/25/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

As expected from My Chem, the concert was pure gold! The opening bands (The architects, not Neon Trees, they were amazing) could be better, but that just draws a bigger contrast when compared to the godliness of MCR
