My Chemical Romance on Tour
During the 2000s and early '10s, few rock bands displayed more concert power than My Chemical Romance, also colloquially known as MCR. The New Jersey emo-punk group was a ferocious live act full of intensity: Frontman Gerard Way was mesmerizing in the way he used dramatic, heart-on-sleeve gestures and vocal flourishes, while his bandmates slashed through songs like a powerful garage-rock band full of aggressive energy. During the peak of their popularity, My Chemical Romance toured with a who's-who of rock and punk bands, including Rise Against, Thursday and Alkaline Trio. In 2005, the band performed on the inaugural Taste of Chaos tour, opened for Green Day and co-headlined the Warped Tour. Two years later, My Chemical Romance appeared on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour alongside acts such as Placebo and Taking Back Sunday. Headlining gigs at festivals such as Reading and Leeds also followed in subsequent years.
In 2019, My Chemical Romance reunited after a six-year break, booking a show in Los Angeles that sold out immediately, plus 2020 festival appearances in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. MCR is on tour again in 2020 with dates across the U.S.
My Chemical Romance in Concert
My Chemical Romance formed in the early ‘00s with a lineup featuring brothers Gerard and Mikey Way — who sing and play bass, respectively — as well as guitarists Frank Iero and Ray Toro. After releasing their debut album, 2002's I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, via small label Eyeball Records, the band inked a major-label deal with Reprise Records.
The 2004 album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge established My Chemical Romance as a commercial force, as both "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena" were MTV and alternative radio hits. The Queen- and classic rock–inspired 2006 concept album The Black Parade expanded their audience further — "Welcome to the Black Parade" even hit No. 1 on the modern rock chart — and introduced a theatrical element to the band, manifested in tailored costumes. Four years later, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys touched on an eclectic mix of sounds, including glam rock and synth-heavy pop.

This was the most exciting and nostalgic concert I've ever been to, it teleported me to my childhood because every single member of the band and including Gerard Way's voice seemed like they were still 25-30 years old! They still got it <3 Super grateful that I had to experience this with my little brother <3
MCR gave a tremendous performance playing all the songs the fans wanted to hear. Almost every song was sung right back to them by their energetic legion of fans and I can’t believe this is a final tour. They’re just too good and fans will miss them tremendously! THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET TRIUMPH - And thanks for the amazing venom!
Played all my favorite songs! Were well worth the wait to see after the initial date was rescheduled
Attended: Brooklyn Night 2 (9/11/22) Absolutely one of the best if not the best concert I’ve ever seen. I was front center barricade (camped for two days before) and the show was INSANE. There was so much crowd energy and everybody sang along to every song. I made so many friends and ended up getting a guitar pick after the show which I never even thought would be possible.
Been an MCR fan since their ‘Revenge’ album dropped (when I was about 8 years old and clearly too young to fully appreciate what I was listening to, haha). That said, I grew into their music and message and have looked up to them since and have found a lot of my own confidence and inspiration from them. Unfortunately, being as young as I was, I was unable to buy my own tickets. Now, I am beyond grateful that the boys came back when we needed them and that I finally got to experience this cathartic night that I’ve dreamed of since the 1st grade. Thank you, Gerard, Mikey, Frank, and Ray. Love you guys.
MCR WAS MY FIRST CONCERT EVER, I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I was going into a pop phase, but ever since that concert I’ve never stop listening to rock and metal. I am 13 and that was the most exciting experience ever
My Chem was Amazing! The energy they gave from on stage was contagious! I would see them again in a heartbeat! Thank you My Chem for an unforgettable night!
The show was great! The production, the sound, tland the arena staff were extremely helpful and friendly! After being a fan my MCR since 2004, it was surreal to see them live for the first time!
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Absolutely incredible band, performance, crowd, night, everything. I flew across the country just for this band/show and I was not disappointed. I would do it again tomorrow. Thank you MCR!
I was looking forward to seeing MCR again finally and they did not disappoint! I loved every minute of it!
Amazing show and performance from my favorite band in the world. They did a good job of handing out waters and making sure that no one was getting crushed up the barricade. Amazing stage presence and had a great time with my best friend and mom!
So great to see them again after about ten years. Last time I saw them was in the Danger Days era, on tour with Blink. Their chemistry (no pun intended) was phenomenal and their performance was just as lively a the first time. Their set was filled with Danger Days songs at my show, which isn’t my favorite album, but their performance and mere presence made up for it. They’re better live than they are on the album, and not many bands can say that! I hope they come back for another tour in the future (though preferably to San Diego instead of LA!).
NO WORDS COULD BE ENOUGE! Would love to see them come to Florida again!!!
One of the top concerts I've been to, MCR still have it, had me singing and vibing all night long, felt magical, definitely one the bands that you want to see perform live in your lifetime.
This event was, without a doubt, the best experience of my life. I traveled almost 8k miles to be there, and it was a dream come true. From the staff to the guest bands, everything ran smoothly and helped everything come together for the main event: MCR. Great sound, theatrics and interaction with the people. No regrets!
this is the best band in the world.. they never disappoint. I love them to death.
The stage setup, the theme, the artist, the crowd, everything was just great! Got to make friends with thoes around me as we all laughed, screamed, and cried together to My Chem. I would definitely try to see them live once more if I were permitted!
i cannot say enough great things about MCR. After all these years they are as good as, if not better, than ever. Love the show, the songs, and the awesome bandmembers. Also, they had a band they used to tour with open for them and that was incredibly sweet. Lastly, Waterparks was a perfect opener for the whole set--I have seen them several times and they never disappoint. Thank you MCR and all the bands and crew that helped to put this together. It was Fantastic!
Everything about the concert was incredible, They organize everything so well.
