About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • Absolute Dream Come True

by BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!! on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I've ever seen in my life. It has always been a dream of mine to see my favorite band in concert and it lived up to my expectations and then some!! The band was absolutely phenomenal and they looked and sounded AMAZING. I will cherish this experience for the rest of my life. I screamed, cried, and sang along to every word. A complete dream come true.

  • Very good show

by Lon C on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was well run. Easy in and out for the most part. Great Sound also.

  • Ok but could be better

by shaegoldan on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

Nothing bad to say about the bands but the venue. Venue easily could've opened the pit up to surround the second stage. In fact, that whole front section could be standing room. Staff isn't very helpful in guiding you around, particularly when trying to leave. Floor chairs are just a hassle for how many people need in and out constantly. At one point, our seats were even stolen when we went to buy merch, whose lines were incredibly long. Felt like we missed out on all the action being on the floor yet not being able to move around freely for any better view or inclusion.

  • All around amazing!

by Brandon on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was just amazing. The venue was perfect. Everything was just perfect. I 100% am glad I didn’t miss out on this tour it’s everything I expected and more.

  • MCR great as always, sound in CBP atrocious as always

by Geo on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 2 out of 5

Great show. MCR and Alice Cooper were outstanding but as always sound was soo awful. I mean so bad that it was sometimes hard to make out which song they were singing. Stage set up was kind of bad too with the giant foul ball at right in front of our faces. This isn’t the first time. Ed Sheeran had similar sound problems as do most concerts at citizens bank. Just stop if you can’t get it right.

  • The performance within the show

by LLTBP on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was literally 2 shows within 1, first The Black Parade which is not just the songs but the acting out of the storyline was awesome, and the stage effects were incredible. Then there's a short break, where you get to enjoy the amazing cellist Clarice Jensen, and boom they come back out on a smaller stage in street clothes and absolutely kill it. Rock on MCR!!!

  • Amazing

by MH on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

MCR has always known how to put on a great show, and the Black Parade tour is no exception. Absolutely awesome performance!

  • A Dream

by Kristin on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

An absolutely amazing show! My bestie and I were in the pit, and between the theatrics on the main stage and the more "relaxed"performance on the stage in the middle of the stadium it was the best of both worlds for MCR! Such a great experience, hands down my favorite MCR concert I've been to over the past almost 20 years

  • Adult woman meeting her teenage crush

by Persephone on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Being so close to my teenage crush was an amazing experience… Dreams do come true… I didn’t know it , but the girl in me is healing… Thank you Gerard Way and MCR for being part of my existence. This concert will live in my heart forever ♥️🖤

  • Great show

by TbwarriorMD on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I'd heard a lot prior to going into this show. That MCR had gone too political. Ok, I'm 54, & only know who MCR are because of my kids. We've been to FOB & P!ATD shows in the past (big fan of the latter, & again, my kids introduced me). I knew enough about MCR to recognize this was a rare show, & I knew enough I was not at all surprised they'd "gone political."I didn't care. I'm a concert junkie, so all I did care was they put on a good show. They did fantastic! There was just enough theater to make it interesting, but not so much the concert was lost. MCR sounded very similar to their recorded music (always a plus), and definitely appreciated the fans. I would gladly see them again.

  • Loud

by Taylor on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

I loved it and had a good time but the instrumental was louder than the microphones so I couldn’t really hear them sing. Had a fun little show in the first half though

  • Amazing

by EJZ on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

MCR is back and better than they have ever been. Gerard, Mikey, Frank and Ray can’t wait to see what comes next! 🖤

  • Amazing and Dynamic

by Edogfemme on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

What a show! MCR really put on two shows. The Black Parade and then the B Stage. I am still in it 3 days later. The creativity and performance was just incredible.

  • Absolutely Incredible

by Bryan on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the band, loved the music, loved the venue. Only critique is that the echo when Gerard was talking to the crowd didn’t allow us to hear what he was saying.

  • One of the best nights of my life

by Frankie (world’s biggest mcr fan) on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I have loved mcr since I was a little kid. I have seen them twice before, but this time was somehow better than the other 2. It was a phenomenal show- the production and theatrics, the music, the atmosphere. i wish i could relive it. it’s such a beautiful experience seeing your favorite band of all time perform their first stadium tour with thousands of people echoing back your favorite songs. they have come so far and the heart and soul put into this show and tour proves it.

  • Wish it was louder

    by N4omi on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

I'm Brazilian and I went to the Philadelphia MCR concert hoping to have a good time. The band was awesome as always, I really love MCR, it is my favourite band. Unfortunately, the crowd let me down. I was on the floor and people often sang in a low volume, no one was shouting and I could constantly hear my own voice because the band's amp wasn't loud enough or maybe it was a bit low because the stadium was very open. I was the only one jumping around me. I wish I could've got pit tickets, but they were too expensive due to dynamic pricing, which I hated. I still got floor so I hoped people would be excited, but I have not felt like that. This review is for anyone who is from Latin America and wants to go to a concert in the US, so don't expect much. I am still very grateful I could see my favourite band, as they haven't been to Brazil since 2008. Although I am deeply frustatred to miss the concert in Sao Paulo, which I bet will have a crowd a million times better than the one at Philadelphia. The band was still awesome and I will definetly go to other concerts if they announce it, but I will keep in mind that I should only focus on the band and not on the fanbase. Overall, I had a good time because I stopped carrying about the people around me, but thinking back the lack of excitment really bothered me. Conclusion: Pros: MCR is an awesome band, they ate every song Cons: dynamic pricing, crowd

  • Amazing....

by Lyndsay on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show. So much energy, the crowd was having a great time . MCR was awesome ! Alice Cooper still rocks !

  • MCR Long Live The Black Parade

by AutonomousMe on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Phenomenal show. Entertaining and all around good clean fun. Would go again.

  • The drawing power of MCR

by Ashley on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

My first real concert was seeing My Chemical Romance open for Green Day on the American Idiot tour in 2005. 20 years later, to see a sold out stadium of people dressed in black for the black parade, singing their lyrics back to them was something incredible. They have only gotten better over the years. If you have a chance to go, TAKE IT!

  • An incredible night of passiona nostalgia

by Jill on 8/18/25Citizens Bank Park - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly one of the most incredible performances and productions I've ever seen. Hit after hit after hit, no downtime. Seamlessly produced as a modern retelling/rock opera of the original Black Parade. 10/10 no notes!
