About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • Best MCR show ever!

    by GreenDayGirl2004 on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to numerous My Chemical Romance shows and this was the most brilliant of them all. The combination of their cds all wrapped up in one beautiful concert. This new cd is absolutely amazing and I cant wait to see them again in Dallas!

  • EPIC LIVE

by concertchk on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time seeing My Chemical Romance, the first two times were well before The Black Parade was born, so it's hard to judge and with other bands... they were AMAZING in St. Louis.. the Pageant was sold out and the pit was beyond jammed packed.. Gerard acted like he didn't know what to expect with the crowd and worked it effortlessly. Franks guitar skills rule, he was flawless on that guitar.. and it really stood out in the videos I got. It was just an overall EPIC performance.. and I can't wait to see them again in the Spring.. please BRING MCR BACK to St. Louis..

  • My Chemical Romance

by MonaW on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance was amazing! I wasn't expecting to like them that much since I was just taking two 16 yr old girls. I thought I only knew 2 songs, but I knew five or six. I loved every minute that they were on stage! Gerard was so energizing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him, especially. I am so glad that I made the 3 hour drive. We left at 3PM and got home a little before 3AM. The girls got 3 hours sleep and had to take finals. I got 2 hours sleep before going to work. Definitely worth it! My daughter and her friend will never forget that concert.

  • WOW!

by elrountree on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

What an experience! Every time I see these guys they blow my off my feet! While it was incredible cold during our two hour wait (I thought I was going to lose a toe) it was worth it! When they come back, in the Spring I think Gerard said, I will definitely be buying tickets again!

  • Totally unforgettable experience

by NapalmNova on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time at a My Chemical Romance concert and I have to say I was not disappointed. I got an early entry wristband and ended up in the second row, center, in the pit. It was an incredible experience. MCR has a great sound and they are true performers. They engaged the audience and gave us their all, making for a fun show that won't be forgotten. Everything from standing out in the cold for hours to getting squeezed in the middle of a sea of people made for an amazing experience. I would definitely see My Chem again.

  • MCR was amazing

    by riotgirl9999 on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The first band from St Louis Brookroyal was good, but the middle act wasn't that great and they broke a drum in the middle of the set and we had to wait for like 10 min for them to fix it. Then My Chemical Romance came out, and they were so good they had so much energy and I loved the new song. The band took a break and Gerard Way sang Cancer by himself it was amazing I loved the song that way. MCR is by far the best band I have seen, not sure why this was my first concert of theirs but I would go again in a heart beat.

  • Viva el MCR!!!

by Bridgetttt on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Mcr rocked but the 2-man band before them wasn't very good. Brookroyal from STL rocked!!

  • the Pageant

by PrincessFrick on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show. the Pageant is a great venue, I discovered a new band, Brookroyal, who is a local St. Louis band and are really good and put on an excellent performance. The second opener, Middle Class Rut, left something to be desired. the music was okay, but their performance lacked. Some people might say it was because it was only two of them, but I've seen two man bands such as The Black Keys own a stage when they performed, and Middle Class Rut just didn't. My Chemical Romance was excellent as ever, I've never really seen a bad show from them and it seems to get better and better each time. In the atmosphere of the Pageant it was just amplified. Very pleased.

  • Great Show but not without it's quirks

by IBleedAudio on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was amazing, MCR came out on time and played a good combination of songs from their new and old material (Surprisingly nothing from their first cd) but they didn't have any real stage presence or work the crowd. The show basically followed the format of 1) play a song 2) blackout 3) repeat. Now this isn't to say that their songs were subpar, they were great, it's just that that was all the show consisted of. Ignoring the fact that the opening band broke it's drum mid set and paused the show while it was replaced the show was great and I'd recommend seeing MCR live.

  • by ldvbdmb8 on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I love this band- wish they would have played longer!

  • Moms love MCR too!

    by toaster80 on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert I've ever seen!! I only wish it would have lasted another two hours or so. I hope they really do try to come back in the spring.

  • The Kid Loved It

by EmedEpicenter on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

The show was good. Opener Middle Class Rut was Great! My 13 yr old son thought it was the best show ever.

  • BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

by JessFaceRAWR on 12/14/10Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have gone too soo many shows in the past years. And this is definitely THE BEST SHOW of my life (second is Hawthorne Heights in Warped Tour 2007). I waited well over 12 hours, in 24 degree weather with nothing but a hoodie as a coat to get inside, I missed school and work and it was worth every penny and grade that I lost that day. It was an unusual match to see Gaslight Anthem and My Chemical Romance play together. But, none the less it was beautiful, Gaslight played well over 10 songs sounding just like in their records or if possible even better. My Chemical Romance definitely stole the show once Gaslight Anthem finished their set and the techs were busy setting up for My Chemical Romance the crowd kept shouting, yelling and screaming for them. No one expected Dr. Death Defying to be there and he certainly helped build anticipation as the crowd continued to scream at the sight of the members picking up their instruments through the fog. Onstage Gerard Way was energetic, his body all bent and twisted, stomping around the stage, fists in the air or running through his hair. Mikey Way was thrusting and head banging to every song, Frank who initially didn’t move much at one point ended up stranded on his back below Gerard as he sang into the microphone, Ray continuously belted out amazing, arena rock sounding solos. The show felt intimate and everyone from the band the crows had a great energy that never dwindled. The venue was packed, it was hot, and I ended up with a broken shirt, dehydrated mouth, deaf in my ears and sore for days. But this day is certainly going down in my book of memories.

  • A Day To Remember for sure!!!

by hut285 on 12/12/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Run down of the night. The beautiful bodies made a beautiful entrance playing great original songs. The whole band had great stage presence, especially the lead singer, who had a fabulous outfit. Next was InnerPartySystem. These guys have serious talent! They played all sorts of great songs and the entire theatre was nothing but a huge dance party! these guys had great stage presence, and played an amazing show!! Then was A Day To Remember. ADTR played an outstanding show. They played songs from every album (except Old Record). They played 5 songs from For Those Who Have a Heart, and only a few from there new album. They also played everyone's favorites from Homesick. They were easily the best band of the night. They truly stole the show, filled with great pits and one hell of a show! Finally was My Chemical Romance. Honestly they were a bit of a disappointment. They were good but they didn't play very many of there big hits. And They kinda danced around and played a lot of there not so great stuff. They could have done a ton better. All in all it was a fabulous show. The only thing i would have changed is have had ADTR headline instead of MCR.

  • I LOVE A DAY TO REMEMBER!!!!

by Lawra33 on 12/11/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I LOVE A DAY TO REMEMBER!!!! the only band I went for was ADTR and they were awesome! I didn't hear any of the other bands. we arrived right when they were setting up and left when they were taking down

  • by Anonymous on 12/10/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I would definitely see another MCR show. Also Innerpartysystem was amazing!! Bought new music immediately after. Great venue too...couldn't have been better!!

  • Killjoys definitely made some noise

by E7Gekko on 12/10/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome. The starting band, The Beautiful Bodies did a great job, Innerpartysystem almost knocked the roof off with all the bass, A Day To Remember got the crowd going, and My Chemical Romance finished off with a bang. I went mainly for MCR, and was very satisfied, but the other bands were great to. The only one I didn't know was the local band, The Beautiful Bodies, and they did good too. I do wish that some of the people in the audience would have been more lively I guess, but the concert was amazing. I will definitely be going back to see this again next year.

  • Three Cheers for MCR

by tvern on 12/10/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

MCR was top notch. Previous two acts had good energy. Highlights of the night were 'I'm not okay' and 'Cancer'. Everytime I think of 'Cancer', I get goosebumps. We can't wait to see MCR next year. Had never been to the Midland but was very impressed with the facility and the event staff. Funny deal - My daughter was standing and I was sitting during A Day to Remember. I couldn't see part of what was happening on stage as several people were standing around us. I saw something coming at me out of the corner of my eye. It curved through the crowd, hit me on the shoulder, and fell behind the seat in front of me. I reached down and picked it up. It was a pick with 'A Day to Remember' and 'Neil' on one side and intertwined E's on the other. My daughter has a great souvenir for her room.

  • My Chemical Romance Kills It !!!!!

by ricoct on 12/10/10Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Unreal, this was amazing. So glad I didn't have to wait until next year to see them, being the only east coast this year !!! They have always rocked live, but this was the best I've seen them live, well Maxwells,NJ was #1. Going to boston, nyc both nights and hopefully they will play a CT show !!!!!

  • The Night the Buzz Stole XXmas was amazing!

by ALEXisSPIFFY on 12/10/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Ok, so this concert was extremly amazing. There as energy and the crowd was pumped. I had ablast. Although one thing i seriously disliked was the band line up. The beautiful bodies, weren't so beautiful. They kind of sucked. The second band ( i forgot their name) was amazing! Energetic, fun, awesome! Alright, so A Day to Remeber was aweosome, but what the hell? They are hardcore "metal" and their fans are HUGE and VIOLENT and wanted to mosh and push around, smoke and drink. Don't get me wrong that was fun but sheesh the first two bands were cool and "pop-ish" and then a hardcore band comes along? Makes no sense. Plus there was a lot of young teenage GIRLS who got hurt thanks to ADTR and their fans. My Chemical Romance was ah-friggin-mazing. Their energy and everything! Exciting! But i do believe the Midland was a bad place for the concert. But then that's just me. (: Hope MCR comes back to a bigger and better spot.
