About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • MCR was amazing!

    by Shane1039 on 4/2/11Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing. Everybody was SINGing it for the world! I liked this show more than Green Day. I hope I get to see MCR again. Also, Neon Trees and the Architects were pretty damn badass. :D

  • BEST LIVE BAND EVER.

by Vincenza15 on 3/19/11House of Blues, Sunset Strip - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen these beautiful boys perform numerous times over the years, and I've never been disappointed. I've done so much traveling to see them. I even flew out to California from New York for their record release show in November 2010. Always very well worth it. Every My Chemical Romance show is filled with intensity and passion.

  • MCR was meh

by Valdo on 2/18/11HOB - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I've seen them a coulpe of times and have never really blown away. The show at the HOB for Q101 was boring. They looked like they didn't want to be there. Very disappointing. I don't think I'll pay money to see them again.

  • My Chemical Romance at Grammy Museum

by RJMat on 2/7/11The GRAMMY Museum - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The Grammy Museum theatre is a very small so it affords you a great opportunity to see and hear artists up close. While we knew this would be only a Q&A session and that they would not be performing, it was still great to see this popular group in such a small venue. After the Q&A, they held a meet and greet as well as posed for pictures with small groups from the entire audience.

  • where is the music?

by BoneYard on 2/1/11The GRAMMY Museum - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

I did love the interview....learned a little more about the band members and what is behind the songs. The Grammy museum is wonderful. All the folks and Bob did a great job. But,.... Where was the music??? MCR have been interviewed alot lately... and they said they do it for the music??? what music...The Kid I brought to the event, a coming of age musician. No music?....

  • My Chemical Romance Rocked!

    by LV1020 on 12/26/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance really rocked. I will go see them again when they come back to the area. I heard they were coming back to St. Louis in the spring. I just might go to that show.My co-worker told me the next time My Chemical Romance comes back to St. Louis, she said to let her know. She wished she could've been there.Hopefully she'll make it the next time. I'm sure I will.

  • Worth the wait!

by BC1974 on 12/26/10The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

So good to see them again after three years. They sounded great, with a good mixture of old and new songs. It was a smaller venue so the stage set up was nothing extravagant. Gerard was looking good, even with the bright red hair. My only complaint is I wish they could have had longer to perform.

  • MCR best band live!

by dangerheart on 12/23/10House of Blues - LARating: 5 out of 5

  • My Chemical Romance was awesome!

by Melora on 12/22/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Great show from MCR. The Pageant is my favorite place to see concerts. It's more of an intimate atmosphere since anywhere in the place is close to the stage! I stood out in the freezing cold for 4 hours to see them and it was totally worth it!

  • One of the Best Concerts in my Life

    by Pirates1979 on 12/20/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen My Chemical Romance before December 14th, and I don't know how I was able to live before then. The concert was amazing. Gerard worked the crowd so well and the band played such a wide variety of songs, both old and new. The sound was incredible and I had such a great time. I can't wait for them to come back in the spring! MCR forever!

  • MCR

  • Amazing Show, not surprised though.:)

by VOEMia on 12/20/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance is one of the best bands to come out in a long time. I am absolutely in love with their music, message, and style. They keep things fresh always evolving but always maintaining the core of what we all know as MCR. They make it fun to go to concerts again, their energy and passion is just amazing. This was a gift from my mother for my birthday, she knows how much I love the band, but it was in St.Louis 4.5 hours away.LOL I laugh because we (my husband and I) have seen them 4 times now, and each time it has been in a different state. Being in a band ourselves we are afraid to say this, but we seem to have become MCR groupies, well just to the point of going out of our way to see them.;) They have been to Indiana one time that we know of, during The 2 year Black Parade Tour and it was the weekend of my sister’s wedding so she won. Sorry guys.:) But we did travel to Columbus OH a week before that just so we could see them. That was for my Husbands birthday BTW. Anyway back to the review, it was an eye& ear candy orgy, we had fun dancing and singing to all the songs. The presence of Gerard Way alone is breath taking. He is an amazing front man. He could probably make the whole crowd stand on one leg, rub their belly and pick their nose at the same time if he wanted to. But he loves his fans too much to make them pick their noses.;) Then you add the guitar styling’s of Ray Toro who is just electrifying on stage. The talent that man has in his little pinky is more than most could even compare to on and equal level in their life time. Then there is Frank and you can't forget little Mikey Way.;) All of them great performers! As I said in the title it was no surprise to me that it was yet another great live show, it's pretty much a given when you go to a MCR show, they will always knock your socks off! Now if they would only come back to Indy (Verizon Wireless) this summer. It will be odd to not have a road trip before their show, but having them in our own back yard, I could live with that!;) If you've never seen a My Chemical Romance show, I highly recommend it. If you love ROCK music you will love MY CHEMICL ROMANCE.

  • FTW

by Nanpaul on 12/18/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This show was worth freezing my ass off in line to get in!!!! They were great!!!!

  • My Chemical Romance is still the best:)

    by Mcrfan1313 on 12/18/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time and can't wait to see the band again. Glad they had there time off and were rested and ready to give it their all. The boys put on a great show and played songs both old and new. The opening bands were even good. Thanks for a great night!!!

  • MCR rocked the house!

by Tukiki on 12/18/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance is growing up and only getting better with age. Gerard Way is looking good, as are all of the band members, but I am especially loving Gerard's current hair color. What is great about their music is there was not one song that I did not want to hear. It all sounded good and the band puts on a good show.

  • MCR is amazing and unforgettable!!!!!

by shanito on 12/18/10Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

if you like a band thats good live and can keep the crowd going, my chemical romance is your band.you will not be disappointed

Overall great performance! i would def go see them again. Also The Pageant is one of the best places to go see a show!

  • One of the best shows I've been to....

by amyslim on 12/17/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Well besides waiting outside in the freezing cold with the hundreds of other My Chem fans, it was a very good show. A St. Louis native rock band named Brookroyal opened first and were absolutely amazing. Great energy! Especially when the singer dove into the crowd and body surfed. They sounded great and will listen to them from now on. Middle Class Rut played after Brookroyal and in my opinion, were terrible. Did not like them at all. When the drummer had a temper tantrum and threw his bass drum and then tried to explain to the crowd (who was in absolute shock) that it was all part of the plan (which it clearly wasn't), you knew this wasn't going to be very good. After his tantrum and explaining that the drum has been telling him bad things about his wife, his kids, etc...I thought this man was loony! Then he had to borrow Brookroyal's bass drum. If I were Brookroyal, there would have been no way I would have done that. MCR were great as usual. People were screaming, jumping and you knew you were getting a great show. The song list was more than I expected. I thought they would just pick songs from their new album, Danger Days. But they indeed went over my expectations and played some of my personal favorites. They played some songs from Three Cheers and Black Parade. It was overall an amazing experience and worth every penny and frozen toes!

  • MCR: always worth it

    by K8G1 on 12/17/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The first opener (BrookRoyal) was fairly generic, the second opener (Middle Class Rut) was much better and more interesting a listen but had some technical difficulties - My Chemical Romance though? They were fantastic throughout. I'd recommend seeing them wherever you can, they put on a really great, really inspired show. The set list this time around was a good mix of new and old.

  • Totally Sell-Out Worthy

    by AFlash2010 on 12/16/10The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This band has had so many good songs on their CDs that they have trouble fitting in all the 'good' songs some would like to see. Every song was phenomenal, and they HAVE to be on your list of bands to see, without a doubt.
