About

Muse in Concert

Armed with guitars, synths, and one killer falsetto, British rockers Muse have been playing and performing like it's the end of the world since the mid-1990s. The trio of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard first came together in Devon, England, as goth band Rocket Baby Dolls. At the time, their riveting showmanship on stage was already starting to show: In 1994, they won a local "battle of the bands" contest, switched their name to the trimmer and tidier Muse, and have since skyrocketed into one of the most electrifying stadium acts in the world.

Over their first few years, they played gigs around England and eventually recorded their first set of material, a self-titled EP, in 1998. But it wasn't until follow-up EP ‘Muscle Museum' that they first reached the NME Indie Singles Chart, and started accumulating comparisons to Radiohead. Their 1999 debut album ‘Showbiz' would follow, and its sci-fi-inspired alt-rock landed them on numerous European charts. Muse's bombastic eclecticism would only grow from here. Their next round of albums incorporated more touches of classical music, church organs, Mellotrons, and various experimental effects, and by their third album, ‘Absolution,' they'd kicked off a consistent streak of topping the U.K. charts.

Since 2006's ‘Black Holes and Revelations,' they began to conquer the U.S. as well, and their live shows became more and more extravagant as their music became more and more dystopic. The high-tech worldwide tours backing 2009's ‘1984'-inspired ‘The Resistance' and 2012's ‘The Second Law' would prove them to be a must-see event, with massive light displays and film projections, pyrotechnics, and even an LED suit for Bellamy. Their next album, ‘Drones,' scored them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2015, and gave them a good reason to incorporate real drones into their Drones Tour. Muse would continue on the surreal sci-fi path with 2018's synth-pop release ‘Simulation Theory' and a 2019 tour — quite possibly their most mind-blowing yet.

    Best Concert Ever

The title says it all. If you ever get a chance to see Muse live, don't turn it down.

IT WAS SO INCREDIBLE. By far the best night of my life.

by Jay on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

I can't even begin to explain how amazing this concert was, and how vivid of a memory it will forever be. The lights, sound, MUSIC, and transitions were so insanely perfect. The show was so well put together and I can't imagine the time it took to make it so phenomenal. Sounds stupid but genuinely I am not the same and I so badly wish I could relive it. I got to share this experience with one of my bestest friends, and I even got to make some new ones. Shout out to Steve for being a real one, your words will never be forgotten. Everything that happened during the concert was so incredible and inspiring (in a way) and I just can't imagine how it could have been any better. Last thing I wanna say is just it is so so important to treat others with kindness. I know it just seems like common knowledge but I think we all need that reminder sometimes.

    Muse in Salt Lake

by Elijah on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

Best night of my life. It was truly life-changing, the first time I was able to see my favorite band in person. Openers Evanescence and Highly Suspect were awesome too, and the whole show was exhilarating.

Muse was amazing! Seeing them live was a dream come true!

    Very unfortunate, infact misleading.

by B on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

We were sold tickets stage left that were visually blocked. In other words, there was a lot Hong system blocking our ability to watch 80% of the stage and the lighting flashed in our face way too bright. The floor plan showed the tickets in one place, the we’re closer to the stage but blocked off so we couldn’t see. 👎

    Best one yet

by Scarlisle7 on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

We’ve been with our daughter multiple times throughout the years to Muse. It’s been a tradition since she was 14. (Now 23) This was by far the best show we’ve been to. We loved the mix of old and new. EPIC

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to

by Rodliotz on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

Muse has, for years, been on my bucket list of bands to see live. When this tour was announced, and that they were coming to SLC Utah, I knew that my time had come. My 10 year old son is really getting into music, so I decided to take him to his first concert. I loved being able to trust that he would have a good experience taking him to the Vivint Arena. We loved all of the food and services they have there. The opener bands were amazing, and I love how they do all they can to minimize the time between sets. All of the takedown and setup was done fairly quickly. My son absolutely loved it, and I know this will be a lifelong memory for him. Here’s to the next generation of Muse fans!

    Muse show

by Justin on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

Muse was AMAZING! My only complaint overall is the line for beer was extremely long and there were multiple other beer stations not open.

    Meh

by Nikki on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

The sound in the Vivint arena is awful. Every concert I've ever been there is horrible. The music is louder than the singing.

    Great Show

by Ben P on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

Muse is a great band, but their live show was even better!! Loved it even from the back. Disappointed in food options though.

    Muse at Vivint arena

by Williswh on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

I’ven to some concerts before but this one blew them all out of the water. Despite thinking the first opener was kinda weak, my experience was great and Muse held up to their reputation of being incredible performers. Next time they come to slc I’m there in a heartbeat. Digital tickets were easy to use, no complaints there.

Front left of stage on the ground

by T. P. on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

Second time I've seen muse. The production and sound and music is top notch. My daughter enjoyed the 2019 show a little more because of the dancers but muse still remains as her favorite live show ever and mine as well. Great job guys. And a special thanks to all of their support team. I can't imagine how much work it is to setup and takedown every day. Bravo to you. With you the show couldn't happen. Thank you everyone.

    Best birthday ever!!!

by Mr Clean 1369 on 4/23/23Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

I've been a fan of both Evanescence and Muse for a long time, but haven't ever seen either of them in concert. When they were BOTH performing in my city (Salt Lake) on my BIRTHDAY (4-20) I knew I had to go see them. They were both amazing! Hands down, Muse blew me away with how INCREDIBLE their show was! I'd recommend anyone catch either band when they're on tour, ESPECIALLY Muse! I will not miss a chance to see them in concert in the future! Best birthday ever!!!

I like it but could have been better

by Joe on 4/22/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

The show was great, and the scenography was amazing... but I think it was too short. The guest bands lasted too long.

    Best Concert Ever

by Audrey on 4/22/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

MUSE IS THE BEST! Excellent performers. Energy, talent, creativity, vibe, style, all on point. My boyfriend doesn’t even like rock that much but he absolutely loved this show and would go again. 5 days later I’m still listening to nothing but Muse and reliving the show in my head. Muse is just the best. All time favorite band. Can’t say enough.

    Great music and show

by Flimpy on 4/22/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Great concert musically and they definitely took the sets and sound all the way to 11 🎯🤣 Several times in the show they brightened the lights so high it really took you out of the show. Turning the lights up is usually the cue the show is over so it was a bit jarring.

    INCREDIBLE

by larz on 4/21/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Everything about this show was amazing. The organization of Climate Pledge, the sound, the lights, the performance. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. Muse has still got it!
