Muse in Concert
Armed with guitars, synths, and one killer falsetto, British rockers Muse have been playing and performing like it's the end of the world since the mid-1990s. The trio of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard first came together in Devon, England, as goth band Rocket Baby Dolls. At the time, their riveting showmanship on stage was already starting to show: In 1994, they won a local "battle of the bands" contest, switched their name to the trimmer and tidier Muse, and have since skyrocketed into one of the most electrifying stadium acts in the world.
Over their first few years, they played gigs around England and eventually recorded their first set of material, a self-titled EP, in 1998. But it wasn't until follow-up EP ‘Muscle Museum' that they first reached the NME Indie Singles Chart, and started accumulating comparisons to Radiohead. Their 1999 debut album ‘Showbiz' would follow, and its sci-fi-inspired alt-rock landed them on numerous European charts. Muse's bombastic eclecticism would only grow from here. Their next round of albums incorporated more touches of classical music, church organs, Mellotrons, and various experimental effects, and by their third album, ‘Absolution,' they'd kicked off a consistent streak of topping the U.K. charts.
Since 2006's ‘Black Holes and Revelations,' they began to conquer the U.S. as well, and their live shows became more and more extravagant as their music became more and more dystopic. The high-tech worldwide tours backing 2009's ‘1984'-inspired ‘The Resistance' and 2012's ‘The Second Law' would prove them to be a must-see event, with massive light displays and film projections, pyrotechnics, and even an LED suit for Bellamy. Their next album, ‘Drones,' scored them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2015, and gave them a good reason to incorporate real drones into their Drones Tour. Muse would continue on the surreal sci-fi path with 2018's synth-pop release ‘Simulation Theory' and a 2019 tour — quite possibly their most mind-blowing yet.
Would love to see them again. What a fantastic voice!
Music was great! Effects were great! Would go again if they come back.
Muse concerts are legendary and epic. This was no exception. An amazing show from beginning to end. Excellent music, entertaining giant props and an energy that keeps on giving. So many awesome memories. Look forward to next time!!!
Muse and Evanescence was amazing. Muse lit it up. Great concert, Muse played 25 songs. Definitely would recommend anybody to see Muse
There were some surprisers (good) with the openers. Amy's voice SOARED! Muse was one of the best shows I've seen and I've seen a lot. But bands, PLEASE carry 3X and maybe 4X merch. I saw some I loved but all way too small. You have big guys in your audience!
Muse has been amazing each of the 15 or so times I've seen them, but this took the cake. I was 6 feet from the stage, the sound was fantastic, and they played for over two hours - this will get me through until they swing back through the US next year!!
This is my fourth time seeing Muse live, and they are the best live band in the world! Absolutely mind-blowingly epic. Transporting. Transfixing. Beautiful. I loved every second of it.
Muse is amazing, as you watch the show, you hope it never ends. They have such energy and engagement that it is hard not to feel excited. The props, the fire, the confetti are magnificent and fun. Would see them again! The openers were great, Highly Suspect are talented and I was happy to see them since they don’t tour very frequently. Evanescence…..well it is Amy Lee and I shouldn’t have to say more about her🥰
Muse was incredible! And I am so very thankful to have the experience to see them! They kept up a great energy for their fans and their music is already so amazing! It felt like they were going to never stop playing - but in a good way. Awesome performance MUSE! They had the coolest effects as well. They kept you on your toes, it felt like, and kept the excitement for everyone. Best performance I've ever seen! Thank you MUSE!!
This was such a great show, staff very friendly and always happy to help guide.
Loved the show, lights, effects and professionalism of the band. However the drums were all I could hear most of the time. Poor sound mix. I have sen them in the past so thinking it’s just the venues lack of experience.
been a fan since 2012 ish got to see them in 2015 and haven't seen them since,, until NOW HEHEHE muse never fail to entertain great vocals great music just a jolly good show overall 10/10 would recommend 👍🏼
The concert was spectacular. The only thing that would have made it better is if the sound was down a bit. It would all have been 100% perfect. Everyone was respectful and the person who helped at the souvenir desk was patient and cheerful.
Support acts, Highly Suspect and Evanescence were amazing concerts in themselves (some obviously came just to see Evanescence - they left after they finished!) Muse were phenomenal! If I could give them six stars I would! The stage set up was innovative and interactive. There was an overarching then to the set list, with stunning animations tying the songs together, with a great mix of new and old songs worked in. Matt Bellamy held the crowd in his hand and was a true showman! And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better they closed with Knights of Cydonia - which is an absolute classic and got the whole stadium rocking!
Muse always brings a top shelf performance and this was no different
This is the third time watching Muse live and honestly, they just keep getting better and better! It was an amazing experience! My favorite band in the world!
The band was great. The lights and displays were great. However there was a light bar that blocked a view of the stage for several seats (my friends had made the same comments in other sections). I'd recommend that they look into changing that light bar setup.
So I was a fan of Highly Suspect and Evanescence too, but the Muse performance stole the show. It was a fiery extravaganza of nostalgia and passion. Every song had an impact, while remaining utterly unique to the overall performance.
Muse and Evanescence are 2 of my favorite bands! I absolutely love them! All of the lights and the fire and the confetti was awesome! I had never heard of highly suspect but they were awesome! I really hope that at some point I can see all of them perform again!
First of all, the concerts and shows in the Vivint Arena are the best, very safe, organized and clean. It was a wonderful event, the three bands gave an incredible presentation, I enjoyed it a lot.
