Mumford & Sons in Concert

English folk rock band Mumford & Sons have catapulted to stardom with their captivating mix of bluegrass, country and rock, enchanting audiences with their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies. Their second album Babel was released in September 2012, debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and U.S. with hit single “I Will Wait,” and took home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, as well as winning the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band consists of Ted Dwane on vocals, string bass, drums, guitar; Ben Lovett on vocals, keyboards, accordion, drums; Marcus Mumford on lead vocals, guitar, drums, mandolin; and Winston Marshall on vocals, banjo, guitar, resonator guitar. They formed in late 2007 in West London, and put out two EPs in 2008, Love Your Ground and a self-titled effort, garnering interest from ticket holders in the U.K. and the U.S. as they opened concerts for Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn. Mumford & Sons’ debut studio album Sigh No More was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the US, peaking at No. 2 on both the U.K. Albums and U.S. Billboard 200 charts, and selling over three million copies in the U.S. alone on the strength of hit singles “The Cave,” “Little Lion Man” and “Winter Winds.” They also earned two Grammy Award nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man,” and won the Brit Award in 2011 for Best British Album. A worldwide headlining tour followed with the likes of Fanfarlo and The Middle East.

    Great mix of bands!

by Jo in SF on 12/12/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

Mumford and Sons were the best, 21 Pilots AH-mazing, OF Monsters and Men awesome, the 1975 usually love in concert but I think Matthew was a little off (perhaps not even singing the whole time). The rotating stage is awesome as there isn’t a lot of downtime however they were running 15 min early so glad we got there early. SAP had great security!

    Great Show

by Jake B on 12/11/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

This show was really great and the overall experience with little downtime was nice! The videos to introduce the next act were pretty glitchy almost every time.

    Another Great NSSN

by Craves on 12/11/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I went a few years back for Interpol and left with a few mew favorite bands. Same thing this year. I went for Of Monsters and Men and came away with with a few new artists to put in the Spotify rotation. They had a spinning stage where they prepped the next band while one played so there was no long wait between bands. Amazing show and SAP is a good venue for it. Looking forward to next year.

    The 1975 were amazing!

by J. S. on 12/11/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I went to this event mainly to see the 1975 and they did not disappoint. They are fantastic live and you really felt their stage presence even from the back. 10/10 would see the 1975 again!

    Why SAP?

by Tat2rocker on 12/11/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I’ve been going to the NSSN concerts for a long time when they were at the Oakland Arena. Why are they now at the SAP? It really bums me out. Anyway, this year bands were most awesome. Favs were Of Monsters and Men which I have never seen before as well as Twenty One Pilots. Also loved Mumford & Sons. Thanks Alt (Live) 105 for a great concert. Cool stage by the way.

by Carolinah on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

It was a good concert! Thought Mumford and Sons were the headlining band but they weren’t! Overall just an ok event! Nothing like the good old “Not So Silent Concerts from a few years back!

A show with nothing but headliners

by Awesome show!! NSSN never fails on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

So glad I made it out. Glad 105 brought back the one day event instead of the weekend. They packed this line up with nothing but headliners and enjoyed every minute of it. Twenty one pilots closed it out and the rotating stage was awesome. Each band would start up within 10 minutes. Have been coming for over 10 years and cant wait to next year.

    Good but can improve

by Rose on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I’ve been to a lot of concerts - so I was really looking forward to this one since the lineup was amazing ! There were some pros- started on time, easy to find seats, great performers Cons- the sets that the artists preformed were too short for my liking, maybe starting it an hour earlier so the set can expand ? The food wasn’t that great and it was expensive. The security made me walk all the way back to my car to leave my purse in there because it was a half an inch over the limit , even though he could have just let me pass. Keep in mind it was POURING rain and I had no umbrella or hood.

    Interesting show

by mooseworks on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

This was an interesting mix of bands. The Tank has much improved their sound system over the years but even our friend who is 30 years younger thought parts of this one were WAY too loud. As in blow out your ear drums loud. She told us she had to walk around the concession area during Raconteurs due to the sound level which is too bad as they were pretty good with concert plugs! MUMFORD and Sons was great. Too bad I had to wait 12 years to see them and only got 30 minutes but I'll take it!

    Definitely not silent

by Chrisham on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

This was an amazing show for so many different people. I was mostly there to see Mumford and Sons but was excited and pleased that I would have a chance to see of Monsters and Men as well as 21 pilots. I have to be honest, I wish that Mumford had the top billing and could have played for longer. I wish that the concert started at 6:00 so that the others could have played longer. I definitely didn't care much for White Reaper or The 1975. The Raconteurs were really interesting. I had not heard them before and was very impressed by their tightness and energy. I would certainly go to see them play again. They have a sound that is impressive. I don't think I would come to one of these events that include 6 bands again unless I knew ahead of time that I liked all three. ;)

    Loved it!

by Shasha on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

All the band were great! Of monsters and men sound just as great live as in studio. Mumford and sons got the crowd engaged and were just amazing. Twenty one pilots ROCKED the house. By far the best performance of the night! Drum crowd surfing, car ablaze, and they got the whole crowd to sing. It was my son’s first concert and 21 pilots is his favorite band. This concert set the bar high. Epic night!

Great artists but way too short sets

by kim on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I'd rather have one fewer band and enjoy longer sets from the remaining artists.

    Fun first solo show

by J. A. on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I loved that the schedule was posted! It was nice to know who and when. But I wish Twenty One Pilots had a longer slot. But overall it was super fun! And I really enjoyed Mumford and Sons even though I hadn’t heard of them previously. Not my favorite venue though.

    Location and seats

by Safetymike on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

I was disappointed that the show was in San Jose. Before, NSSN was always at the Oakland Coliseum. At the coliseum, you can take public transportation from all over the Bay Area, BART!!!! I have been going to these shows, NSSN and BFD from the 1990,s. Yes I was at BFD #2 3,4,5 and so it on. Now for my seat location, TERRIBLE!!! Bought my tickets the second they went on sale and was given a seat on the side of the stage and a speaker blocking my view... Terrible!!! Now for the show!! Awesome, fantastic line up. Loved the bands. Had seen the 1975, 21 Pilots, Mumford and Monsters and Men at BFD before as well as the Racantuers at NSSN. The bands at 2019 NSSN was just beyond and above my expectations. Just a great show. Now please put pressure on Live 105 to change the venue. From the old guy with a BFD #3 Shirt that wear to every Live 105 show.

Why didn’t Mumford and sons headline?!

by Ultra shell on 12/10/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

Amazing staff at SAP venue security especially was great! Mumford and sons should have headlined. Event planners said may have missed mark on that one.
