The '74 Time Machine to see Mott The Hoople on Broadway

by Vincent D on 4/13/19Beacon Theatre - New York

I was only 13 when Mott The Hoople became the first rock band to play on Broadway at the Uris Theater, consequently I did not see them perform. However, the subsequent Mott The Hoople Live album of those shows became a 45 year favorite of mine and I got to see most of the members perform my favorite songs from the album, as well as, The Hoople. Having attended the 2009 Hammersmith reunion shows in London, I feel very lucky to have seen all of the group members perform at one time or another. I can "Rest In Peace".

    THIS Is Rock 'n Roll

by Bossworks on 4/13/19Orpheum Theatre - Boston

It would be dubious at best to think that rock acts that emanated from, let's say, 1980 on would still be performing live 50 years after their inception. It simply isn't going to happen. Mott The Hoople gave a recent series of concerts that at the very least reminded us that they truly are from the Golden Age of R & R. A remarkable performance that was every bit as good as their 1973 appearance at the Orpheum.

    Well worth waiting 45 years!

by Disapointed fan! on 4/12/19Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Never got to see this band, they broke up while I was still in school! Seen Ian Hunter many times over but some songs from Mott he never seemed to perform. That all changed when I saw Mott the Hoople perform in Boston recently. Such a fun filled evening! The band played like they were kids again! Thanks for the wonderful memories. One item off of my bucket-list!

    MTH still rocks

    by M. S. on 4/12/19Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Enjoyed the show. I was not a big fan of Mott The Hoople in the past so I was pleasantly surprised and now a fan. The only negative thing I can point out is that the volume was turned up too high for a small venue. Otherwise....MTH ROCKED IT!

One of the greatest concerts I’ve ever seen.

by TommyMambo on 4/12/19Orpheum Theatre - Boston

All you need to know was that it was Mott the Hoople...absolutely killer show. Also, kudos to the Orpheum usher who lent me her flashlight to find my cellphone, which popped out of my jacket during all the excitment.

    Mott the Hoople 74

by Jimbo on 4/12/19Orpheum Theatre - Boston

It was awesome. Music from 45 years ago made me just as happy at this show as it did in 74. Ian Hunter is a genius.

    Back to 1974

    by L. K. on 4/11/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

First time at The Masonic Auditorium.Parking was tricky we got lucky and found a free spot.Love the auditorium seating. The sound was shaky for the first 2 songs and then they got a handle on it.The band was awesome.Banging out each song with such enthusiasm. You would have thought it was 1974!.Not a single slow spot. Areil Bender in his white pants jumping around like 23 yr old and not a 73 yr.old! Ian sounding great at 79 yrs.old.Sucker being the song of the night in my opinion. What a surprise.Of course all of the hits were excellent as well.I did have to laugh for the first time ever the line to the womens room did not exist! However the mens room had one, and from the words of my friend they were singing in there! Ladies if you want to meet a guy they were 10 to 1....LOL

    Mott 74 in Cleveland

by Janie on 4/11/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

Building was beautiful, but not enough restrooms, leg room in the seating area, steps steep, merch table unorganized. Enjoyed the show. Sound not so great.

Nice venue, sound was pretty good, and the show quite good

    by J. G. on 4/10/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

How do you, as Ian Hunter, come tom Cleveland to play a show, and NOT do Cleveland Rocks? For this reason alone, the show was a disappointment, and I would not go see them again if they were to return. The fact that it was a Mott show notwithstanding, Ian did many of his other hits.

    Mott the Hoople

by Barb on 4/10/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

This was a great concert, so glad I went, seats were awesome. Sound on vocals was a little low, either that or instruments were too loud! But hearing goes as you age, so what do I know? Brought back memories, and they were correct “Cleveland Rocks”

    Fantastic

    by J. W. on 4/9/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

Fantastic, something I thought I would never see. To think that a classic 70's rock band that broke up 45 years ago and never reunited or exploited the name in some way to return to Cleveland and play a concert like that. Wow. Ian Hunter rocks like a mother. Ariel Bender and Morgan Fisher really added a lot of excitement to the performance. I go to many concerts every year and Ian Hunter is, I swear, the best each year. But, this Mott the Hoople concert was very special. To hear the medley at the end from the original live album was a true concert memory to last.

    Fantastic show!

    by J. W. on 4/9/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

Mott the Hoople rocked the house Saturday night! Over 1 1/2 hours of 1970 style rock & roll. This band should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Opening act Dream Syndicate did a rocking 40 min enjoyable set as well.

I've wanted to do this for years!

by Mottfan on 4/9/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

The drive was two hours each way, but so well worth it. I have been a fan of this band since 1972, and have never seen them live. I wasn't too sure what to expect, being that so much time had passed, and that two members of the group are sadly no longer with us. I just want to say thanks to Ian, Morgan, Ariel (Luther), and to the Rant Band for far exceeding my expectations. You brought the house down, and reminded me that Mott The Hoople still rocks after all these years!

The Cleveland Mott The Hoople 74 show was awesome.

It's a shame the tour is so short. I'd love to see them again.

Truly one of my favorite Rock and Roll shows ever! From seeing Bowie to The Rolling Stones multiple times. This show ranks in my top 5! Seeing Ian Hunter never gets old ! A great show and the venue in Cleveland was very good. From the sound to the lighting. I can’t it enough. Awesome experience!

Top 5 Concerts in my life!! And I've been to Many of them!!

by W. on 4/9/19Masonic Cleveland Auditorium - Cleveland

Are seats were right in front of the Sound Man and it couldn't of sounded any better!! Seriously!! Ian Hunters voice still sounded Amazing after all these years!! The band was tight and made everything sound Incredible!! We will go again if they come around the area in a heartbeat!! Now as far as the rest of the event. The ushers and security were very professional and helpful!! The bars and bartenders were good enough!! The only thing that could of gone better is if I could of bought a T-Shirt. My size went quick and the line was too long for me to stand and wait. But that's not anyone's fault. So Happy I Experienced this event!! Thank You!!
